I had a friend of mine intrduce me to this show series. It was a bit too slow at first for my taste, but ince it picked up the pace, the comedy and dramma did too. What made it so awesome is how they go about unraveling the story. It initially started with the main character (Piper Kurman) about to turn herself into prison soon, but after about the third episode, you gradually learn about each prisoner through extensive flashbacks, but it stays mysterious because the flashbacks are in pieces that don't always give every detail right away.
The sense of humor is great, its gets vulgar at in certain points ,but overall from what the first season is like, its very witty, not justin the excecution of the jokes, but the choice of words as well. If any body has ever watched the HBO show called Shamless, then that is a model to measure the type of comedy off of, except Ithink it's not as rash as Shameless.
As far as actors with faces from big Feature Films that I noticed, theres the lead character from American Pie (Jason Biggs), a woman I think seems familiar (Danielle Brooks), the woman who played Donna (Laura Prepon) from That 70's Show, and the young lad that think Look like Peter Parker's neighbor (Lauren Lapkus)in spider-man 2 and 3 ( she was the one feeding him cookies).
So yeah, it seems to have been succesful, but I've never heard of it until a month ago, so for those who haven't seen it, go check it out.
