I'm talkin about the future here, not tomorrow, not maybe 10 years from now but later. People hate Christians now and there will be more in the future. There's also a bunch of people who will just say they are Christian and do nothing more, some don't even go to church but twice a year.

And the persecution complex continues. I hardly see Christianity going anywhere. And what is it about not preaching certain sections of the Bible that Christians dislike so much? Practically no one reads Leviticus.

Leviticus is the old laws which are no longer applicable because of Jesus dieing to save you. His death canceled out the Old Laws. (And trust me if he didnt life would suck. XD)

Heh, the rest of the world must've missed that memo. xd I'm unaware of the Chinese ever feeling saved when some Jewish guy was sacrificed.

Because, I don't need one. Or a lot, for that matter.

I don't need to have someone standing over me with almighty powers, threatening to destroy me if I make a mistake. I don't need to feel like I'll get divine punishment if I make a mistake, I follow my own rules because I know what feels right, and what feels wrong. <3

There is no threat to destroy you, and what most people don't understand is that the "Divine punishment" is a choice for you to make. By choosing not to accept God you're saying, "Yeah, you see that one right there? The one that says: 'Perpetual Burning and Torture in Hell', thats the one I want."
*sigh*
I told you I don't need one. I understand if you need one to force you to make the right choices, but by telling me that I'm going to burn by not choosing your "god," that's threatening me.

I'd appreciate it if you would back off please. I just want to live in my non-religious peace. ^^

And once again(and this is going to sound really corny) Is not a threat its a promise.
I need to go, nice debate, lets do it again sometime. mrgreen
I think it's bull that Christian's are now saying they're being prosecuted. After all the crap bible-thumpers put every other religion through, by telling them not to shove their religon down other's throats, now they're being prosecuted. What bull.

Not that I hold it against them, I just wish people would leave me alone about religion. At school, people wait by the front doors to shove bibles in our faces. People even come to our front door to hand out religious stuff. There's no escape for the non-religious.

I really wish people could just understand that it's my right to belive or not believe what I want. To be "saved"... Isn't that my choice?

And, say I am wrong. So? That's my fate. I'm living my life the way I want. I'd apreciate it so much if religion would just stay in church and in home. I don't want to feel like I can't be myself.

I just wish society didn't revolve so entirely around religion.

And even if we were to assume that the Old Laws are still applicable, this does not make God non-existant.

GROUP-A BELIEVES IN BOOK-A
BOOK-A SAYS TO PERSECUTE GAYS.
GROUP-A PERSECUTES GAYS.
THEREFORE,
GOD DOES NOT EXIST.

See? Even if I were to argue that Christians are evil/corrupt/Martians, that would not logically prove the non-existance of the higher spiritual being(s).
I don't think it is that people do not believe in god, so much as they do not believe in organized religion.
I'm not saying that Atheists are not real, but that a group of people just do not believe in religion.
Religion is a nice concept. You know, unite everyone under one belief. Like, saying "Be kind to people" is a good belief. But saying that everyone who doesn't believe in a specific god is going to burn in the eternal hellfire? Not so nice.
Also, these are opinions. Everyone has one, and they can be changed. But trying to force someone to conform to an idea they do not believe in or agree with? Well, that seems completely ludicris.
People should believe what they believe so long as they do not push their ideas on others and go to war to do so.

Let me just come out and say it.
I'm near tears for the people here who are so openly bashing their Father. I'm even more in tears for the Christians who are doing nothing to try and save these people. I LOVE God. My life before God was horrible, now I have reason to wake up every morning. I'm tired of seeing atheists and non-believers question MY beliefs. So here's one for you.

WHY don't YOU believe in God?

and

What will YOU do when judgment day comes and YOU are the wrong ones?

First of all, this has no bussiness here it should be in ED
Second, You are a bible-thumper if you believe people of different religions go to hell just because they...well...are a differnet faith.
u know what?you are a bible thumper anyway

Wait...so we're basing arguments on feelings now?

Damn, people are really scraping the bottom of the Argument Barrel today...
I believe in God. smile

We're in a state in the world now that more then before people are denying God himself. It's the beginning for the end of the world. Soon everyone in the world will hate us because of Jesus' name. There will even be laws against our faith. There's even one now that's still in the debate stage. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=40774
If this law passes it means that churches wont be able to preach parts of our own bible! Trouble is, we can’t force these people to love God for God didn’t force us to love him. What we can do is just plant the seeds, and pray for their souls. They will figure it out once it’s too late. But we won’t have any shame because we were the ones that told them. But this wont go on forever. What will go on is God and us with him.

Talk to me. We'll get though this together. k?

*Pats arm* Im on your side. I dont think the government can control the church. I guess this is how hard Jesus had it
I never had a reason to believe in him, oh well.
seriously people,y is this here? the admins are just going to put it in ED where it should be in just a little while anyway

You missed the point entirely, love. sweatdrop I'll spell it out, so the rest of the class can catch up. I'm referring to the Chinese population extant at the time of Jesus' supposed crucifixion. No records of this event exist in Chinese logs, so it's at least suspect to know that major civilizaitons haven't even heard of it.
We can't know for sure, so we shouldn't pretend we do. God is a concept people like to hold on to. Thats all.

That argument is just as bad.

There are no records of Napoleon Bonaparte in Native American writings.
Therefore, by your logic Napoleon never existed.

There are no records of Julius Caesar in Japanese writings.
Once again, by your logic, that would make Julius Caesar non existent.

Look, I'm not saying that there isn't an intelligent reason to not believe in God, but you seriously need to rethink these things before you type them out.
