Welcome to Gaia! ::

I don't see how you can believe in someone that has never given you any proof that they exist.
In my opinion, a true Christian, such as myself, understands and respects other people's opinions and beliefs.

Caring about other people is important, so I understand where you want everyone to feel the love you feel for God, but not everyone wants to. Understand that and embrace it, because all you'll do is make people angry, which is the opposite of what you should be doing.

People have their own minds and you just need to accept that. There's nothing wrong with loving God, but the people who don't aren't necessarily wrong either. It's God's job to deal with that, not yours.

To me, the proof is in the Bible. And the miracles he performs. You may need more proof than that, but to me, I dont. I believe the Bible

The Bible was written by humans, who are corrupt and manipulative. To me, it offers no proof.

Ok..... Lets see, someone actually cut out any phase/verse that would be wrong if science was right out of the bible and there was almost nothing left.

Plus, the "Thou shall not kill" is just another wording for "Thou shall not kill other believers". Lets face it, the Bible is full of "Be ready to kill in the name of God" and other such phases. Whats the explaination of that?

Look, the closest to religion ill ever get is deisim. End of story.

But those ppl were chosen by God to write His word. And Jesus actually talks in the Bible, in the gospels, but I can see where it wouldnt offer proof. I believe God's Word fully, even if I dont understand, but I get where your coming from
i dont believe in god for the popular reason, if god is the father of all existence, why would he make a world for his children filled with such evil and destruction

Also...

not everyone is born in a christian family, stop being so shallow asuming that everyone is born in a religeous family...

my family is athiest so the question to me is more like "why would I believe in god"...

I never did, and I dont have a reason to do.
religion seems bullshit to me.

No one said everyone is born to A christian family, but those who are are more likely to go to church. I personally can't see myself going to church, as "Homosexuality is an abnormality" and I'm Bisexual.
i dont understand that, either.if god is supposed to love everybody, why are homosexuals any different?are they, somehow, not people?and whats wrong with abnormality, anyway?just because i happen to like girls and not guys, does this somehow mean im any more weird than i already am?im an odd person.it doesnt mean im a bad person.i'm nicer than most people i know, and most people i know are christian.

personally,i belive in a greater life force, but "god" to me?he's something to make "normal" people feel better than peple like me,so it just makes them that much more ignorant.

sorry to those who actually are nice belivers.you are the ones i respect.

An important tenet in major religions is the concept of God's Chosen People. Those who write a particular collection of verses (such as a Bible) want to cement their authority by claiming divine inspiration. Later on, church authorities can wildly interpret those verses in order to increase their own power over the church and churchgoers. Jesus, for the record, does not exist in historical records.
