For some peculiar reason, some people believe that if you read the Bible, you can't criticize its veracity. Well, I came to the conclusion that it was quite wrong on numerous respects after reading it. ^_^
Yes, you can criticize it because you at least read part of it. I respect your opinion on the Bible. Its just that I believe differently, thats all. No disrespect here or anything
The reason I don't accept the Bible is due to its contradictory statements, questionable morals and utter scientific ignorance. If God truly exists, he would make himself known in a better fashion. I have a difficult time accepting a God who would approve of slavery, incest and the lot.
And I respect your reasoning. I dont neccesarily agree, but Im not trashing it, so yeah. I believe what God is doing is right, and just, but if you have a different opinion, Im alright.
I respect difference of opinion, so discussing religious belief is alright. ^_^ I simply want to explain the problems the Bible has as a scientific (and even a moral) document. What would you say about a God who kills 30 million people (all but 8 people living throughout the Earth at the time) ostensibly for sinning, even though most of them didn't do anything to require such a fate?
I wasnt there(duh), but what I believe is that alot of ppl wronged Him, and He saved the true believers. What He does sometimes can be really harsh, and can be called basically, an oxymoron, but to me, thats what faith is. I follow by faith, and not by realization. He's worked miracles in my life before, so thats how I know to believe. Its hard to explain why I believe, but...I do. I dont need to physically SEE Jesus to know He's alive, I just know.
