And what does anything have to do with that?

i don't believe in god because of many reasons.
one reason is because of the overwhelming amount of contradictions in the bible.
another is because of how consumed people become with the bible and it's tales.

Have you even read the Bible? If you havent, then please, dont say it's wrong. God's stories are true, and while they may seem far out there, its not about how realistic the story is, its about how you apply it to your life today

For some peculiar reason, some people believe that if you read the Bible, you can't criticize its veracity. Well, I came to the conclusion that it was quite wrong on numerous respects after reading it. ^_^

Yes, you can criticize it because you at least read part of it. I respect your opinion on the Bible. Its just that I believe differently, thats all. No disrespect here or anything

The reason I don't accept the Bible is due to its contradictory statements, questionable morals and utter scientific ignorance. If God truly exists, he would make himself known in a better fashion. I have a difficult time accepting a God who would approve of slavery, incest and the lot.

And I respect your reasoning. I dont neccesarily agree, but Im not trashing it, so yeah. I believe what God is doing is right, and just, but if you have a different opinion, Im alright.
Because the bible was constantly being shoved down my throat.
I was critisized and judged for EVERYTHING I did that was "sinful."
And I always felt aweful because of it. I thought I wasn't allowed to be human or something.
I did at one time believe.
But I don't anymore because when I needed God most, it seemed like he wasn't there. And things just kept getting worse and worse.
So all that made me loose my faith.

I respect difference of opinion, so discussing religious belief is alright. ^_^ I simply want to explain the problems the Bible has as a scientific (and even a moral) document. What would you say about a God who kills 30 million people (all but 8 people living throughout the Earth at the time) ostensibly for sinning, even though most of them didn't do anything to require such a fate?
Unlike most teens, not because it will piss my parents off.

Personal beliefs, experiences, horrors I have seen and profound and obvious logic lead me to believe that if God really did exist, life would not be that fun and tragic.

More importantly why do you care? It isn't that christian to go rub it in the faces of sinners really.

Sounds like you have more problems with faith than I do. At least I know where I stand. You just seem UTTERLY ******** confused.

I wasnt there(duh), but what I believe is that alot of ppl wronged Him, and He saved the true believers. What He does sometimes can be really harsh, and can be called basically, an oxymoron, but to me, thats what faith is. I follow by faith, and not by realization. He's worked miracles in my life before, so thats how I know to believe. Its hard to explain why I believe, but...I do. I dont need to physically SEE Jesus to know He's alive, I just know.
I'm not questioning your beliefs. I just don't think there can be an all powerful creator.

And Im not questioning how you think either. And dont blame me, I didnt start the post. I respect differences in opinions. Ppl who dont agree can get along, its just alot of ppl dont understand that.

All religion boils down to faith. There's nothing special about Christianity that separates it from the others. All we really wish for you to understand is that Christianity is simply another belief system. What you believe is yours to decide. However, if your worldview contradicts reality (such as it does in fundamentalism), it becomes problematic.

Exactly. Ppl can take this belief thing way out of proportion and try to force it down, but you cant. You have to believe on your own time. And I dont understand what God does all the times, and I dont understand why some ppl believe, and some dont, but all I can stand for is myself, and I can say that I believe. No one else has to understand why, but I do.
WHY don't YOU believe in God?

I wasn't raised to believe in him and I have no intentions to do it anytime soon. I believe in a higher power, but not the God you're referring to.

What will YOU do when judgment day comes and YOU are the wrong ones?

I'll be dead well before then, so I kinda can't do much.
