okay, sorry, but I am so ******** sick of this s**t.

I have a certain level of respect for religion. sure I'm atheist these days, but when I was a kid, I went to church, and we always learned that God was loving, and suppose to help people and make them feel better about themselves. I went to a Christian Science church, so they mighta been a bit more mellow, but...I think the idea is fairly universal.

why are people making it into some kind of scary story? frightening people into your beliefs, "or else" is just ********. if christianity is really a loving and good faith, then it shouldn't be twisted into a scary story. people shouldn't join because they're afraid of the consequences.

bottom line, religion should be about love, not hate. :B

Alright. I believe people don't believe in God for the same reason Alot of christians do believe in god. Because it brings them to their desirable group of peers, A "club" of Non/believers to associate themselves. it's part of the lifestyle obsession of being popular. we believe to fit in, for the most part. Alot of us go to church so they can say they can. They'll never admit it, but they're thinking "For only one hour a week, I can appear to be a role model of a family." For those Christians that go honestly and to stand at the altar before their lord, I respect you with all my heart.

That does not hold true to me.
A good 98.3% of my living area and campus grounds

a fellow Neutralist (I made that word up but I think
you can guess what I mean).
There is no reason. I just lack faith in him.

well yes, I understand what you are saying. if you want to find someone else who doesn't care (openly) you're gonna want to go to A catholic church. Have you seen them leaving mass? they pretty much run to their cars. It seems to me that most of the the catholics go because their parents did, or they feel it's the only way, not that they particularly enjoy the belief system of a catholic church. My father is a Muslim, and those people love their faith. I mean, look what the news is doing to their religion. I mean, every religion has their crazies. (Waco, Texas?)

Crazy is a bit much.
Fanatics is more accurate.
At any rate, you're correct.
I don't believe in God, just because it seems like a work of fiction to me. I've never felt any divine being, I've never "seen the light", or anything. I believe things can be explained by atoms, particles, chemical reactions, etc., and I don't think any sort of god put that in motion.

I've read the bible, and I've been to church. Church was strange and boring, and the bible was just a really long book.

If judgement day comes, and turns out there is a God, then I guess I'm going to Hell. There's nothing I can do about that, then.
I believe in God,

but don't cry about the others that don't.

What point are you trying to make?
Also...

not everyone is born in a christian family, stop being so shallow asuming that everyone is born in a religeous family...

my family is athiest so the question to me is more like "why would I believe in god"...

I never did, and I dont have a reason to do.
religion seems bullshit to me.
