I think life is just an epic adventure to find a path that you are truely happy with so it would kind of be like "heaven on earth" instead of being bitter and having things turn out "later" in heaven or hell, wherever your religion takes you. Death is an equal part of life, and I don't even think its long- perhaps reencarnation.
