Ok then, I DO have them....They like to have the feeling of ruling and being in absolute control. When one has a sense of power, they have a sense of greatness and they want to be remembered. And if you look back over the last 6 pages, I have dissucssed every issue that people have brought up. I merely don't want to respond to yours because you are rude and inconsiderate. Oh, and grouchy and stubborn.

Those aren't reasons. Those are simply restating the idea. I want proof that every human being on this planet wants power. How do you know what other people want? How do you know that people want to be remembered? You're stereotyping the human race with a Napoleonic thirst for power, and it simply isn't correct. Until you can absolutely prove that every single human that has ever lived has wanted power, you can't say you're right. Maybe some do, maybe a vast majority do, but every single person does not.
Darn...you're not gone.. stare

Perhaps not every human wants the kind of power you're suggesting, but they do want power; over their own lives, how they spend them, how things work out...not a single soul doesn't want control over their own life, and that is a kind of power we all need. Not the power to abuse or to control everyone else...we just want power over ourselves. stare If there are people who don't want some sort of power and control on what fate has in store for them, I feel sorry for them and dub them pathetic. stare Phaedrus, this arguing is pointless. This is simply, and I'll say it again...her opinionwhat don't you get about that?

And besides, she stated in hug bold purple print that this was simply her opinion something she is very much entitled to. Phaedrus, you say you don't like people who make a few points and think they have it all figured out..I've got news for you; you do the exact same thing, you hypocrite.

lol *hugs* And I also didn't make just a FEW points, I made 6 of them! And with a very LONG explaination to them each! *glares at Phaedrus* stare

A) This is ED. As entitled to her opinions as she is, she still has to understand that this is a place for extended and intelligent discussion and debate. When I posted something contrary to one of her posts, she simply brushed it off. That isn't debate. She either entirely misinterpreted my post, or she was avoiding answering my actual point. Considering she didn't answer when I clarified, I concluded it was the latter. In fact, she still hasn't come up with a logical answer to my argument.
B) She's the one who posted the arguments. I only have to have one point to the contrary to prove her wrong. If she can't defend against my argument, she has to admit that she lost the debate, and that maybe her point is incorrect.
C) You haven't posted any points that prove my one point wrong. And you call those explanations long? You really haven't read any philosophical works, have you? Those are about as short as they get for explanations.

I don't think I'm getting across to you. What proof do you have that every human wants power? There is none on the first page. Start arguing, or this thread is getting reported. This is ED, if you don't want to argue, don't come here!

I disagree with your reasons on Death. - -; "Death is in the back of everyones heads." [or something like that] But, after reasearching it for quite awhile, i've come to find out that people think about death at least 75.8% of the time, which is more than what the already dead people think about it. Seriously, come on. Everyone thinks about death at least 5-6 times a day. With the similar subjects as to "I wonder how i'd die," "When," "Where," etcetera. But, I am not just stating this to get respect from you. As I have stated before, I have actually done research on this. Using the sites connected to google, and I have made a little graph to state my point.:

User Image

The numbers there are the percentages of the people in which are dead, and those in which are alive. I hope you understand it. If not, then you are wrong obviously.

But anyway, this is what I think about death:

I think death is a state in your life in which you return to the state in which you were born, in other words, eternal sleep. I believe that once the body stops functioning, that the dead soul itsself falls into a deep sleep, pursued by a long dream. This dream could either be a dream, or a nightmare (Stating Heaven or Hell). But, who knows? We have never died before, and the people that are already dead will never explain to us what happens, will they? No. They won't. And if you think otherwise, you're wrong again.

I think that graph is....inaccurate, to say the least. Do you know how many people have died over the last few thousand years? A lot more than 6 billion.

I'm not going back that far, Phaedrus17. And, they're percentages. Not the actual number of people that died. You should read my post again. =/

But the fact remains, Phaedrus; she isn't stating these as being correct facts...these are opinions only. She has said that. No matter how hard you try, you can't disprove her opinion. if these were hard-core facts, perhaps; as an opnion, it is a no win scenario.

Once again, do you have proof of that? If you admit that somewhere in the world, there might be one human that doesn't want any power whatsoever, then you admit defeat, regardless of whether that person is pathetic.

Yes, and she posted her opinion in ED. It's subject to argument adn debate. If you don't want people arguing with you, go to GD or Chatterbox.

you can't mean to tell me that you actually believe that someone out there doesn't want control over their own lives... stare And she seems to be arguing with you quite well...though I sense she is becoming fed up with your condescending attitude. Maybe you don't mean to come off like that, but you are.
