It's not that hard to get. If anything, holding the freeze on a typical machine is what's really difficult.

Also when the ******** did they change the Crazy chart for Treme Vook of the War?

I can't doubletap 16ths for s**t. This also explains why the triplets at the end of MAX 300 get me every time. And the less said about Paranoia Eternal the better. That said, I can do Electro Tuned pretty much every time...

Also Treme Vook of the War was the second song I ever played on PIU. Got my arse handed to me (my first song was an F on GO haha). Is it harder or easier now?

I consider it harder, but only because I'm terrible at trills and the fact that it's in the final third of the song where it's 205 BPM doesn't help.

Tips/Techniques? Determination = Win. Don't let other people bring you down when you're learning. Even if it seems silly, Holding the bar greatly improves balance.
How long have you been playing? 4 months
Shoes that you would recommend? Converse. Puma.
DDR Videos? No. However I have an ITG video of me doing perfectly on Tricky Disko untill the last few notes.
DDR Simulators (DWI)? Stepmania
Platforms/Pads? PS2 - ITG2 r21 dedi
Bad experiences? I have very bad balance being very top heavy so I tend to land slightly forward after my jumps. I fell once. On muh face. xD
Best Accomplishment: Finally started on Hard and passed KKKK Come On and Hardcore Symphony :]
I am a Standard/Heavy person. Level 7-10. I originally started out on DDR. WHich is fun and all but not as challenging as ITG. I have a lot of pro people who go to my area to play so it's a tad intidimating since I just started learning! However, don't let that other peoples performances get to you. Have fun!
well.....I GET MONEY AND TALK ABOUT DDR, THIS ROX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This thread always sends me on a trip to the past. It gives me the creeps knowing this is where I first posted four and a half ******** years ago, and looking back on these posts, I can safely say one thing: We were huge assholes. lunar, Zidane, abcbadcat, oni, wertle, Miyamoto_Maruku, Cheekun, Midnight, Koiyuki, Thud, and cappy were, for the most part, civil, but Mint, Pibb, zamn, Xerox, MIAB, Chase, and myself (Razer) we were in no mood for anybody's bullshit. I'm surprised we all didn't get banned every five or so pages, as we alone could have constipated the report system with our rampant flaming. Good times, man. Goooooooooood times.

Also IIDX 18 has a silly name and FFR confirmed for DEAD. I guess I should actually play the damn game, seeing as how 10th style is on the way.

This thread was the first thread on a forum I frequented. I looked back on my posts a while ago and wow I was annoying when I first started posting. I tried to get back into gaia but people in the art forums can't give critiques at all, the anime forum is just poop, and this forum isn't good for me because I barely pay attention to gaming news. I signed on today because I wanted to see if I could find someone to pokemawn battle with but I have a feeling I would just get massacred. Not surprising. I miss the times when I came on here every day and never talked about DDR. I even came on here when I went on my DDR hiatus which has happened at least 4 times in my entire life so far.

I went to disney world this week for my senior class trip and I played PIU and DDR again. Somehow Disney managed to put in every unlock code except the last one into the DDRSN2. Odd. I mainly played NX2 and I suck. I can't pass IGYAML CZ because my stamina sucks. I'm much better at the whole foot placement thing though lol. I can do pretty much all combinations without thinking except for that retarded thing in Canon-D crazy. I haven't played IIDX in a year+ because I started to develop carpal tunnel from it. Whenever I play I get cramps within 10 minutes. Kinda discouraging.

Now that I think about it, when I stopped posting on this forum, I stopped posting on all forums. I occasionally lurk when I'm bored but I don't post anything anymore. I somehow think constantly refreshing my facebook is a better alternative. oh well. I will probably be mindlessly playing RPGs until college next year where I will be close to an ITG2 machine and can actually play dance games again. The only times I play now are when I go to arcades with friends and all they do is watch. Kind of a drag.

The gaming forums cannot keep up with any new developments in gaming unless it's from the major titles out today. The bias towards stuff like Halo, Mass Effect, Pokemon, etc. is even worse than other communities such as The Escapist. If you expect to here about something about Bemani or small group titles here, don't hold your breath.

I'm not anywhere near as active in the Bemani community anymore. I on and off IIDX because of the post-DD games leaving a bitter taste in my mouth with weak songlists and the God awful charts.

My Pump ability has skyrocketed in recent years, but I still struggle on that one weird-a** part in Canon-D CZ. However, I have been plowing through a lot of the CZ charts in NXA, along with a shitload of NMs. If I knew how much of a blast Pump doubles were, I would have played then back when Zero was a "brand new" project in the works, but the FS charts were so horrific, I held off on the though of doubles.

You're not missing much. After DistorteD, the charts went downhill. Compared to the opus of HS and DD, Gold didn't stack up, and Troopers was a shitstain on IIDX. Empress was better, but it's still a far cry from my expectations, but not entirely bad, especially if you have missed out on many of the earlier games.

At least there are people when you go to arcades. I'm completely alone. Nobody plays Pump in Philly and the Neshaminy ITG machine have chosen some pretty s**t songs to hack into it to the point I have bought a flash drive just so I can have a selection that isn't garbage. PA is a crap spot if you're looking for a music game scene. Meanwhile, people like Mint and WinDEU have managed to hit the legendary social Bemani jackpot.

Frankly, I'm just stunned right now that anyone bothered to log on and see this, much less respond. It's nice seeing you again.
I was surprised when I logged on to see there was a post so recent lol. It's nice to see you too. Actually I'm going to be living in philly in september to go to Drexel. I heard there was an ITG2 machine at Strikes bowling Lounge. Is that the one you're talking about? We might be able to play dancey games together since I will not know anyone in the area at all. Chase is probably going to the same college so I can force him to come. at gunpoint.

I would actually go to play PIU more once I'm 18 and D&B let's me inside the place. D: Is that where you play Pump? I need to get the lowdown pretty much lol.

NJ sucks pretty bad in terms of DDR/PIU locations too. There are two DDRSN2s and they are both inconvenient in different ways. The one at the Funplex is far and the arcade smells weird. Lots of children, the food sucks, I've pretty much grown to hate the place after they got rid of ITG2. the one at Laurel Lanes is cheap, but the operators aren't allowed to turn up the volume anymore and the right pad is pretty much dead.

The one Pump location is at a Chuck E Cheeses. It is also an Exceed and they will never upgrade it. I can't tolerate children so this place is just terrible. I have a pile of leftover tokens for this Chuck E Cheese but I never want to go back. also very far away.

There used to be some regulars for the games at the Funplex and the Lanes but they've all disappeared. The only regular I've seen lately was Ninja N8, and he usually doesn't appear often. I kinda miss when there were other people to play with. Most of them were psychos, but it was still fun.

I was talking about the one at the Neshaminy Mall. Getting to Strikes would prove more difficult as it is further away and probably doesn't have a direct bus route, whereas I can get to the Neshaminy by hopping on the 130.

I haven't seen them have people outside of D&B in eons. Even if they still did that, I'm 21 and can get in anyway. Frankly, I'm kind of let down because I haven't had the chance to rub my I.D. in their faces aside from one time when I came in at 9 PM because I needed to take a piss.

8otB is still around, but if I recall, it's still a long way from where you and Chase lived in NJ.

Also, after playing pre and post-ITG hacking, DDR doesn't stack up because their pads are still jokes and are more primitive than the redesigned Pump pads that were made with the debut to freeze arrows, and with Betson, they're somehow worse than ever. I am honestly impressed at how terrible they are. I am 100% positive that they were made to be as horrific as possible while not being completely broken.

Except for that short time when they had Zero, D&B has always had Exceed 2 until last Summer when they upgraded to NXA. Having missed out on the past three games, you could only imagine by excitement to play dozens of new charts.

Back when I first played DDR in 2005, there was a bustling scene at the Franklin Mills mall at Time Out. We weren't Godly or insane about scores and doing the hard stuff effortlessly, but just playing 10s to see if we can do them. It's funny to think about how you were hot s**t for clearing stuff like MAXX Unlimited, or any 10 really.

Given the loneliness of the current scene, I would gladly accept being s**t again if it meant that panel-stomping were to be a social activity again. The week spent in Wildwood two summers back was a ******** blast because various people, the scary good and the newcomers, didn't give each other s**t except for a little confusion over coin orders here and there. I would love to spend another whole week down there if there was still a community.
Also I'm going to chronicle the events of the sticky post-Razer 573 ban:

Late October to early December: Mint keeps talking about how Mint Nukem Forever is coming soon. Original date was 11/05, and then moved to 11/17, and then some time in December.

Also I get banned at least 4 times.

Page 6775: I b***h about my s**t timing for the 80th consecutive post in a row, completely ignorant that one that I would break 600 AAAs. I was so young, so stupid.

Page 6781: I can get why I engraved by VJA name on my class rings (to look back and laugh 15 years from then), but why was I a /b/tard? Also I wonder if Mint would feel embarrassed about the silly hat he wore in the MStPT video today. Probably not. Crazy son of a gun.

Page 6783: My discovery of WD40 saves my shitty KOC for the next two and a half years until I get a Dao.

Page 6790: The TV I have sat in front of since I was a child finally bought the farm. It was old, and had only one speaker working, but dammit, it was always there for me. July 1987 - December 2006. Cheers to the good run we shared.

Page 6793: I am stunned to see that 1un4r5h4d0w's sig is still up despite depicting a man shitting a beehive.

Page 6797: The Seven-Colored Puppeteer slanders Mint's name while finding delight in DDR.

Page 6798: The Superficially Busy Youkai insinuates that 1998 possibly does not contain cinnamon swirls in every bite. Much debate takes place on the taste of 1998 as aokiqiao argues it does not taste like cinnamon, while pibbals concedes to it having traces of cinnamon, but it tastes like sorbet.

EMBNAIS

Page 6807: Mint Mania gets it's 12th release date, which happens to be 12/10/06. In the end, it was mostly good but still had the occasional "what the s**t" charts such as Gradius -full speed-. Overall, s**t was cash.

6808: I am a ******** shithead who thinks that getting 61 misses on any non-boss pop'n chart is acceptable for passing.

Page 6812: HS CS the following day. However, I am perplexed as to what to do and look towards my Lord and Savior Marouku how to get out of s**t to play Bemanis. He simply suggests that I ******** all of the noise around me and enjoy Splash Beats.

I oblige to his words, and everything turns out marvelously.

Page 6817: Splash Beats have been obtained. God why does Sayanora Heaven's chart suck so bad? Everything else is perfect.

Page 6824: The Puppeteer of Hail lives in a state of delusion and honestly thinks that PIU isn't a commercial success or gaining momentum in the states and will be a Korea/Mexican thing, whereas DDR was facing deficits with Extreme and even SN.

Page 6827: If I were to have seen the charts in Troopers CS back in this time, I would be pissing boiling blood.

Page 6828: I promise a video from a s**t camera. It had no sound and I never get around to it ever.

Modern day: I stop for today and turn on some 808 State. Newbuild is a Godly album.
I remember back when Laurel Lanes actually had a DDR crowd. Most of the people were slightly psychotic, but it was at least somewhat fun. I went through a few months of playing alone after they all left and just gave up on DDR altogether. I'll probably be going to Strikes a lot when I go to college since It's supposed to be a 10-15 minute walk. Maybe I'll figure out philly buses and it'll be faster. It'll be nice to be close to a good machine for once. >:

The last time I was at 8otB was a very long time ago. It is extremely out of the way, and it is hardly worth the drive time. Pump PRO is okay I guess, the only thing I would really play is Pop'n though.

I find it amusing that you can actually remember how you felt during certain posts in this thread. the last time I posted I think I posted scores or something back when there was a DDR scene here. Before then I have no idea what I was doing with my life. I remember getting livid at you when you first started posting here lol. You were so belligerent, I didn't even know how to react.

Gaia's attempts at blocking spam always end in failure. >: It is such a hassle to post lol.
We were such defiant shits, especially me since I came barging in looking to pick a fight expecting a omg didder is ipmssobiel crowd but instead found people who were just as ready to put up their dukes who actually knew their stuff.

Frankly, I'm not ever sure how we even got along with each other. I guess we have Hexadakota to thank as he single-handedly managed to have us all concentrate of our rage toward him. Starting s**t with him was like our version of board game night, but it happened every eight hours.

I swear to God I didn't backread and actually remember all of this and it kind of upsets me that I can recall arguments from four years back but not important stuff like what I learned in Bio 109 last semester.
And now I shall resume with summarizing the sticky:

Page 6837: Your sweet-a** HSLE came in the mail. If you lived a few miles closer to me, you would have felt my unimaginable envy.

Post 6838: "DDR is the best game ever and maplestory and risk your life!!!!" was the most bewildering sentence ever written on Gaia Online at the time it was posted.

Page 6843: Sweet lord I keep forgetting that Mar is the size of a Titan and overshadows me despite being 3 years younger than I.

Page 6747: For reasons unknown, we troll Bemani-illiterates on a Sega forum.

Page 6852: YO MAN REMEMBER THAT PS2 YOU BURIED? NO THAT OTHER PS2.

Page 6855: I receive MidniteMoonlight's kicktits letter.

Page 6861: I sneak a Sgt. Frog reference in my post on Christmas Day. Even with all of the /b/tard, a true bro was waiting to get out.

Page 6862: I rocked Jesus' birthday by wearing three watches.

Page 6866: For the sake of irony:
>I thought 4chan was funny. Puppet Master suggesting to whore ourselves.jpg

Page 6875: WHAT IS A STEAK
WHAT IS A STEAK
WHAT IS A STEEEAAAK
I CAAAAAANT FIND OUT

And that's where I stop for now.

In unrelated news, I have obtained 10th Style CS and am listening to The Story of Eastern Wonderland, thereby finishing up listening to all of the Touhou soundtracks. I may be secondary because Mac can't game, but I'm not going to forget about the PC 98 OSTs. However, I can't say the same for IIDX CS because I really couldn't care less about 6th and I'll get 8th in due time.
