Welcome to Gaia! ::

Very nice job. Only thing I notice you might want to mention is that people have been botting before Opera, using auto-refreshing programs and the likes that arn't built into the browser.

For Gaia, it started with Opera. smile
This is by far the best explanation I've come across. Thank you.

Is that supposed to be 1,000,000 ? or 1,000 ?

I transfer between 1k to 2k each time.
1,000K is a million. smile [/q

Ahh. Most people just type 1,000,000 since it isn't to hard.

No worries.
So somone's really banned because they're done suspicious behavior... correct?

This is very useful. Thank you. It wasn't explained quite this well in the other areas I visited before.

Click Fraud
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Click fraud is illegal in many places. Artificially clicking (refreshing) to make money (Gaia gold). Many botters will then go on e-Bay or other websites to sell their virtual currencies which is also against the ToS. If you have *placed Massively Online Games you have no doubt run into what people will call "Chinese Gold Farmers" who do something similar.

*Not sure if you meant 'played' or if I just don't understand grammer. Thought I might point it out though.
Fixed. I typed this up in MS Word 2k3. I had to hilight what I wanted spellchecked, so I didn't get to use grammar check, because it will delete all BBcode tags and try to make them into english. ^^

That's fine, it was legable, I just know that some people are picky, and thought I'd point it out before they could. Better then me, I will sometimes randomly Capitalize a word in the middle of the sentence because I type too fast xD.

    I have two main mules.

I use them for poll whoring, and transferring any gold/expensive items between this account and them. (I've been hacked before, so I'm taking every precaution I can).

On each mule, they have about 500K+, totalling 1mil+ altogether. That is simply the gold that my main account has made over the past couple of years with posting, gameplay, polling, all the Gaia stuff.

Okay, that out of the way, here's my main question:

If I make an art request that requires me to have 50K, and I transfer 50K directly from my mule account to my main - could I be pinned for transferring botted gold - when it's not botted at all? Or, would it be safer for me to just transfer it bit by bit - say 1-10K at a time? I just want to make sure of this.

this is the reason for inflation??!!! BOTTERS MUST DIE!!!! or umm.. something to that effect..
Can gaia do anything about it at all??
maybe if gaia created a real bank of sorts that gave interest then people wouldn't need mules to hold their monies and it would make it easier to spot botters?? and MAYBE stop a bit of botting from those people who are doing it for their own sake.. and also help curb inflation by people hoping to make some extra money by having it in the bank instead of spending it on inflated items? dunno.. just an idea..

No, I know of botters being banned on Gaia for using the auto-refreshing programs aswell. I know that the first few banned botters on Gaia didn't all use Opera. heart

A signifigant source of, another is the marketplace, with exchange whore who use artifial inflation to make money, but thereby actually making their own money worth less. xD
