This guide is a roadmap to nudity! The bulk of the guide is found in spreadsheets, divided by the type of item and if it removes the default Bra, Panties or both. The spreadsheets have images of each item for your viewing pleasure.
As of July 2021, ive shifted some things around. The simple items are all on page one, and the tricks and more complicated things are on page 2.

This is a guide for making naked avi's using Gaia's own items. PLEASE NOTE
that while nude avi's seem to be pretty acceptable, ANY AVI DEPICTING A SEXUAL
ACT IS AGAINST THE TOS AND IS A POSSIBLE BANNABLE OFFENSE.
I have personally had a naked avi for months and haven't received a single warning.
USE YOUR BRAIN.
ADMIN REMINDER: DON'T POST SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONTENT
Was this effect on Tsunberi root intentional?
Can I get banned for this Avi?
Only if you use it to show a sexual pose. They don't make the items
for that reason. If you put in a combination that outlines some form of sexual pose or
action like penetration then you're violating the TOS.
There's a thread on it on the Gaia Blog. Just go to the main page, click view all threads
under Gaia Blog and click on the thread entitled don't post sexual content or something
to that effect. There's two paragraphs dedicated to avatars.
Basically if you use common sense and don't emulate moves you see on porn sites then
you're fine.
That said, if I get word that anyone is using this information to make
a bannable avi this entire thread is going down. Don't be an idiot. Follow the TOS!

What about your items?
There are some items on Gaia Online that are risque in nature however, these items
were not created to be used for explicit purposes. There is a difference between using
items to create an avatar that is racy or provocative and creating an avatar that is
obviously sexually explicit, such as depicting a sexual act. Think, โdraw me like one of
your French girls," not, โIโve got the cure for your nymphomania. eyebrow waggle"

To my understanding, nude is fine.
Just as long as it doesn't blatantly look sexual.

Why would they make the items and ban you
for using them

๐ฏ๐ฝ๐ ๐๐ธ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐ถ๐๐๐น ๐ถ๐๐พ ๐ถ๐๐:
Since Avi art has been offered as prizes for these contests, I feel the need to put this
warning since I just got in trouble for this sweatdrop
Artistic nudity, images that may contain rear or frontal nudity, or unclothed but
covered individuals, in non-sexualized or suggestive poses, is acceptable to be
commissioned or used as samples. When posting content that contains artistic nudity,
users must link to the image, rather than directly posting it, and the link should be
accompanied by a note that says that the link contains artistic nudity, so that any users
who do not wish to view such content may avoid it.

So if you make or receive avatar art of a naked character, please keep this in mind.
When posting it, you need to LINK it as opposed to EMBEDDING it. And when you link
it, please be sure it comes with a warning.

๐๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ ๐ท๐๐พ๐๐น๐๐ ๐พ๐๐ถ๐๐ ๐ป๐พ๐:
We use avatar builder images often here. They are especially useful for contests.
As of writing, Gaia has yet to fix the image issue where the actual avi pic won't
show up. The common fix is downloading the image, re-uploading to a third party hosting
site such as imgur and embedding it. This seems to be repaired as of right now,
but in the event you don't want to deal with the off-chance of the links getting screwy
again, or you don't want them to expire, it may still be easier in the long run to just save
and upload to a hosting site like imgur. BUT, if you don't want to go through all that, our
good friend MoodieFoodie figured out how to fix the Gaia-hosted images, and I'm posting
this here as a PSA for future use. heart

Found out how to fix the images from avatar builder for now. In the image URL, change
where you see e1 to e3
