There are a number of things we won't be adding to the extension, some of which we've discussed publicly, others we've discussed internally and never made it either past early development or into production.

I have a question. What items from GaiaUpgrade the script won't actually come up in the addon? I was just curious since I haven't really switched over (despite it being broken) because the addon doesn't have several features that I actually enjoyed from the script, and I was curious if they were ever going to make an appearance.

GaiaUpgrade has 60+ features, only around 5 of which are similar to BG.

I am unable to download the update for Firefox you guys are self hosting.
I get a pop up saying Firefox stopped it, I select "allow", then it says there is a connection failure.

The old userscript clears the announcement. But userscript is outdated now and is buggy.

The current extension does only a soft remove of the announcement, ie. it hides it but they are not counted as read. An alternative would be using the announcement viewer to load all announcements at once. And then closing it.

I can also see where it's more helpful to go about things this way, too. Community announcements tend to be kind of important, so it's best to not miss them.
