Trying to download for Chrome keeps taking me to a 404 error page.

You can look on the Chrome page and Firefox page for GaiaUpgrade. IIRC, last time I looked it was ~4900 people.
It does not collect or send personal information. In the future any information sent anywhere is opt-in: e.g. sending preferences to the GTools server.

Trying to download for Chrome keeps taking me to a 404 error page.

Thanks for letting me know! Unfortunately this seems to be an issue with Athens Chrome Web Store, it could be caused by changes that’s are being made. I’m out of town until Saturday, so there’s not much I can do until then.

Edit:
This is a preliminary follow up. The extension was taken down from the Chrome web store for unknown reasons. I got no email about this happening. I've contacted the Chrome Web Store and I'm waiting for their reply.

This may be due to new chrome web store rules. I read an article sometime earlier this week that Google would be hardening rules to prevent miscellaneous extensions

Some changes won't be implemented until Chrome 70 and others won't be implemented until next year. So, I can't say if that is the cause or not. We speculate there might also be another reason, but we don't want to start rumors.

In either case there was no notification from Google about why it was taken down. Once we know the issue we can work to resolve it.
