If the OP is updated for the new version (talking about the little pictures),
it looks pretty awesome; I just don't care for the forums. I like the old
version's much, much better. It was the whole reason I changed to BG.

xxMultiple issues with the new update.

                  1. I liked the old forum style better. > __ > A LOT better. There should be an option for those who preferred the old style to keep it that way.
                  2. The headers. It used to be that everything else was small, you had your username, and the messages. Now its all or nothing. There should be options that let you choose what icons are up there and what aren't (for example, the username and only the message icon). That goes the same for Shortcuts--not everyone uses them, so there should be an option to get rid of those, too.
                  3. The design is downright eyekilling. What happened to smooth BG? The new one makes me want to deactivate it.

Those are the major problems, among other things. But I really hope this is fixed soon, because otherwise I'll probably deactivate and go back to old!Gaia. :c

1. The only changes to the forums were the shade of brown, some additional icons, and the arrows in the breadcrumb. Every other style in the forums were left unchanged.
2. We're planning on adding a feature to allow you to choose which widgets you want to have soon. You can also disable the shortcuts from showing up in the Shortcuts section of your Settings.
3. We had complaints that BetterGaia was too somber, ideally from the dark background and page colors, and felt that it pushed away people from installing BetterGaia. Unfortunately, we have been losing users recently, and hope these tweaks will do for the better.

fix it in the next update..... =.=;; when
the hell is the next update going to be...?
(and I hope a lot of things are fixed with
that new one. >.<;; Or rather, returned
to its previous state with actual updates.
Not a total forum make-over. x _ x;;

The chrome version is finished? Does this mean there may be a beta for another browser soon? I know I asked before but I use chakra linux and the only qt-based browser with extension support is opera so I am hoping for a BG beta for it soon. I don't mean to sound beggy or anything just hopeful

I'm not even getting the post formatting buttons or the shortcut drop-down menu in the top right corner... Both are enabled, but I'm not getting them...
The thing on the My Gaia page isn't loading either. Just a continuous circle of doom...

Are your formats and shortcuts showing up in your Options panel?

*went back to previous version for post format*
Yeah, I get the options panel just fine. Everything looks good there.
The options I want enabled are enabled, and the ones I don't want aren't enabled.
I just don't get the post format buttons (and my styles don't appear in the text box)
                        when I'm making a new post/topic.
Then, the shortcuts menu thing isn't appearing at all.
Just the menu with my username on it is there.

That's the thing... x ___ x;; there aren't any forum options.
You can't re-size the width of the forum posts; it's stuck
at that little 77 number (when BG is first used, the forum
posts are all skinny) rather than spanning across the page
like how Gaia normally is without BG (if that makes any
sense at all. >.<;; )

The older version is much more modern looking and sleek.
The new version... -shakes head- it clashes horribly and
looks downright archaic, in my opinion.

- - - - - - - - - - - -

If anything, I would have liked the update to have been able
to allow you to change the guilds so the posts are seen
properly. -shrugs- It doesn't seem like the guilds are all that
different from Gaia Forums; so I wouldn't think it'd all that
difficult to do... However, I'm not... a designer... or whoever
does all this stuff. >w<;; So, it could very well be difficult.

I also don't like the white strip going down the middle gonk I missed each post being separate and being able to increase the width of the posts... sad This is just getting worse and worse..
@Vanishing~ Man, I like a lot of your worth with BG... but this new version is killing that respect you earned man... And not with just me... with so many people...

Also, this not being able to have shortcuts aren't showing up. I don't have any of that disabled... it's just not appearing. neutral

There seem to be an issue, could you post a screenshot of the white strip?

-gawks- If those are the only changes, then why can't we change the width of the forums?
(and none of my post styles were showing either and the shortcut drop-down menu wasn't
showing up for me also)

It seems that there are a few issues with the update, so I'm diverting people back to the previous version. Fortunately, the update wasn't pushed out to the public yet.

If you have any issue with the update, could you post a screenshot? It'll help us greatly with ironing out the bugs. Otherwise you can downgrade through the link here.

It's been changed to the option 'Set a constant width for forums for better reading.'. Many only used setting 97 or 77, which meant it was completely on, or completely off.

Hmn, I checked and un-checked that over and over, restarting FireFox and everything
afterwards, and there was never a difference. o.o It stayed at 77.

xx1. I don't mean the post style when typing your post. For example, in the old forum / thread style, the posts themselves were encased in their box (along with the sig) and the avatars floated next to them. Now they all are encased in this weird, way too bright gradient box thing that I reallllllly don't like. An option to go back to the old way is all I'm asking.
                  2. Aha, that's good. I do hope it comes out soon. ;A;
                  3. Well, making BG more tweakable would be nice. Some prefer old, some prefer new. Just making a little switch to change between that would win over a LOT of people.

Once we iron through the issues currently, and if it's feasible, we're open to porting to Opera.
