Part 1:
Moria couldn't believe it. Johnny K. Gambino was dead! Of course, it's hard to believe someone as spirited as Gambino could just die in the first place, but this death was more than just a powerful man dieing to Moria. Gambino's death left Moria heartbroken, upset, and angered.
"How could he just die like that?" Moria thought standing in front of the memorial that had been erected in honor of Gambino's death, "He had so much going for him. I know it's not his fault he died, but dammit he shouldn't have!" Moria sunk to her knees in front of the memorial. Her hands, resting on her knees, balled into fists while she bent her head and silent tears rolled down her cheeks as she thought of the reason she was there now. Why she was there sitting in the dirt crying over the death of Johnny K. Gambino.
Night was falling in Durem when a tall, muscular figure stepped into the Durem Depot. Moria looked up from the money she was counting at the figure, hidden by the shadows, and stated in a bored tone, "Sorry, we're closed. Come back tomorrow."
The figure ignored Moria's words and walked up to the counter. Once out of the shadows at the door, Moria could see the figure better. It was a male, but not just any male. It was Johnny K. Gambino. Once he reach the counter Gambino said, "I'm looking for something...different."
"I said we're closed," Moria stated with a hint of agitation, "but you could try the store next door. I'm sure Vanessa can give you a good waxing. That should be different enough for you."
Gambino seemed taken back by Moria's words. No one had ever talked to him like that! He quickly got over his surprised and became angered at Moria's words, "Do you even know who I am?"
"Yea, you're that tub of lard Gambino," Moria retorted with a smirk.
"Why you insolent, little brat! I'll have you know I'm the most powerful man in all of Gaia, so you better show some respect," Gambino states with an air of anger and authority.
Moria rolled her eyes at Gambino, and walked out from behind the counter. She stood in front of the large man, with her hands on her hips and said, "I already knew who you were, and if you want to buy something from this shop I suggest you not insult me any more because I have the power to throw you out. Now as I said before, this shop is closed."
Gambino took a step back at the force behind Moria's words. He wasn't use to being told off, and he didn't know how to handle it. "Well...I...," He stuttered slightly at a lose for words. Suddenly an idea came to him; he knew a way to get this shopkeeper to sell him something. "What if I pay you to open your shop back up and sell me something?" Gambino suggested with a grin.
Moria raised an eyebrow, contemplating the idea. "How much?" She asked suspiciously. Gambino smirked and offered Moria 2k, which she accepted. Moria showed Gambino around the shop, where he picked out a few things that interested him. Once he was ready to check out the two returned to the front counter. Moria silently rung up the total. "The total is 20,550 gold plus the 2k that you owe for me opening the shop after it was closed, so your total comes out to 22,550 gold," Moria said.
"What?" Gambino asked shocked. Those few items couldn't add up to that much, could they? Moria impatiently waited for Gambino to pay. He took out his wallet, but he hadn't expected to need too much money and he had already spent quite a bit at another store. Moria sighed knowing what was coming next. "You don't have the money do you?" Moria asked tiredly.
"Well," Gambino said, "I hadn't expected this all to be that expensive."
"It cost money to look good," Moria stated, looking at Gambino.
"I only have 2,550 with me, so how about I give you that and I will bring the other 20,000 gold with me tomorrow," Gambino said in a hopeful tone. Moria thought about his offer. It had been a long day and she didn't want to have to put the items back up. It was already late enough. Plus, it's not like he's that hard to find.
"Alright," Moria said taking the money from Gambino, "I'll charge the rest, but you better pay the rest off soon or I'll be coming after your fat a** for it. Remember this is a shop not a charity."
"Of course," Gambino said with a smirk. Inside he was laughing at Moria. What could she do? He was the most powerful man in Gaia, and she was a meek little minimum wage shopkeeper. He quickly turned and walked out of the Durem Depot, without any intention of coming back. Moria watched as Gambino left the shop. Once he was gone, she grinned to herself. Gambino was such a sucker. Of course those items didn't cost that much, but since he was the most powerful man in Gaia he got a special deal. The deal was the more powerful you were the more you pay. Moria finished closing the shop with that knowing grin on her face the whole time.
The next day Moria went about her business as usual. She waited on the customers that entered her shop, but she also kept an eye out for a certain person. As the day began turning to night, Gambino had still not shown up. Moria locked the door to her shop that night, knowing she would be paying Gambino a visit. No one got away with cheating her money.
