Team Captains
Last year was the first time TDM implemented the idea of teams. Sort of like the teams you see at relays IRL, teams in TDM are intended to pump up the excitement with some good-natured competition. In our case, teams are based off of different types of cancer. The team deemed "most spirited" wins a real-life donation for their type at the end of the event.
The event of TDM is held in its guild, and each team has its own thread- it's own base of operations. The teams have a lot of control over what they do. They can hold their own mini-contests or get togethers. In order to join a team, a person just tells the team captain and from there they just participate in what they want to.

Team Captains are the people that create and manage their team's thread. They take the few things their thread must include and then the rest is up to their creative freedom. We are starting to look for Captains in March because that will give you plenty of time to create your thread without feeling rushed or pressured.

Activity
Once you say what team you'd like to Captain, check out the guidelines in the Crew Only forum of the guild, and all that, it would not do to suddenly vanish. Since we're starting so early, it's important to touch base with us here every now and then. If you do not post and also do not begin setting up your team's thread, I will assume that you haven't made a final decision yet and the slot will look open for people who want to ask about the position.
You will however have first priority if you asked first.
