ooh yum yum. i heard they got recalled because of the contaminated milk ingredient thing going on in china (though it's only harmful to infants). i miss those.
Whaaaat? I heard about the milk thing, but not about the recall. No wonder I haven't seen as many in stores these past few years. That's awful.

Got this from wiki: "In September 2008, there were more than 52,000 reported cases of children made sick by melamine-tainted dairy products in China. Most of the children were diagnosed with kidney problems. White Rabbit Creamy Candy was listed among the many milk-based food products made in China that were contaminated with melamine and was removed from store shelves."
The melamine is what gets infants sick, though in the rabbit candy 1) infants don't eat them (though children do) and 2) it takes a lot to actually harm full sized adults. I guess once they got recalled stores never put them back on the shelves even if the company stopped using melamine-tainted products.
add: in 2009 the company re-named itself 'Golden Rabbit Creamy Candy'
