Astronomical Recalibrator

I occasionally buy hyper inflated paw items because most of the items left on my wishlist arent available for rerelease and the handful of people that have them plan on keeping them until the site dies.

Kind of glad this popped up on the front page again because OH BOY.

So, I have User Image on my wishlist. It's been sitting there for years with no listings, and lo, suddenly one is listed!

... for almost 40x the ABP (if my math is correct).

I'll admit, I've been on the fence about it. I can afford it, certainly, and it doesn't get listed very often, so I am very very tempted. However, as much as I want it, I really cannot feel justified in helping to inflate the price of what has always been a relatively common item to that degree, simply because it happened to pop up on the MP finally. I've gone this long without it, I can wait it out.

Well, I guess that was worth the massive inflation to someone, since the ABP of that has jumped from 755 plat to 17k, with a new listing for 25k. Unless it's some artificial inflation nonsense.

Guess I'm waiting longer!

... I kill with my heart.

The only time I usually do is when I haven't seen a listing for the item in almost a year.

I do it when an items hasn’t been listed. I’m impatient and impulsive. I normally have enough gold/plat on hand to pay for it. But I won’t buy something that’s a few bil when it’s re-listed at like a trill >< I don’t not any item that badly.

I am going to post my opinion on this subject as both a buyer and a seller.

First as a buyer if I do not like the price I do not purchase it and try to find it at the price I believe to be reasonable. Sometimes I am successful others I am not.

Second as a seller I will state that I base my price on the graph data. If the item has not sold in over a year and no data exists yes I increase the price depending on the item itself. I follow this motto do not like the price do not buy it. I value my items differently then you may. Does not make you right and me wrong or me right and you wrong. We value them differently it is up to the buyer if they want to purchase.

Now that being said I do not list and buy off my mules that is just stupid, asinine and violation of the ToS. Those who do that should be banned.

Exactly, sometimes I'll pay well over amp, if it's not been listed, and it fits into my own way of pricing items. Maybe it was 5K last year, but that was the last time it was listed, and if it were released today it might be starting at considerably higher than it last listed - so, that's how I decide price - whether I'm buying, or selling. And sometimes I price emotionally, thinking, well, if it goes for that, I'm willing to part with it. Sometimes those items sell, and sometimes I'm glad they didn't. smile

sometimes you just really need that last thing to finish an avatar and with how scare items are nowadays- that one overpriced listing might be the only listing for months.

With the lack of user numbers, are we genuinely losing items in circulation because of locked accounts??

The most expensive equippable items I ever bought is the Gift of Magic flair and 2003 DJs. The former item is still a bit expensive and the latter won't deflate since they rarely re-release very old MCs. The only expensive item I wouldn't mind buying is the Angelic Halo for my angel oc but it keeps on skyrocketing!

Ironically, the lack of male items nowadays don't let me spend as much and having myself lesser desires. Male items are still either too expensive or dirt cheap and there's nothing in between those prices.
