The January 2015 MC Speculation and Discussion Thread!

New Year, new Letters, new person trying their hand at an MC Thread! cat_whee We've got a new design for the letters, and like last year they should end up being handheld as a pose from the items within. Aside from that, not much has been revealed about them yet, but Rina'll give us hints as we get closer to the 15th. Matter of fact, with my birthday being the 14th, we'll have the Silhouettes on my Birthday if they keep up the trend for the last few months!

Thankfully unlike this month's RIG (Yes, i'm gonna be miffed at that for a while), tradition holds true for our MCs! The Silhouettes are here!



...Ummm...between the hair and the leg mods, I can't tell which one is the guy. Looks like one gets a back-mounted sword, which is interesting (not a Scythe, but weapons are cool). The Paw looks BEAST though, it clearly has a thing for pyrokinesis. I'm more a Wind guy myself, but I won't deny it looks like the Paws are getting a big hit this month. We'll know for certain what these items are when the letters open tomorrow!!!



And the Letters are open!!! We have an Asian theme with a Shaman, a cursed Swordswoman, and a Red Panda who oddly reminds me of Akuma from the Street Fighter series. Fearless Shaman opts for a Rosamund/White Color scheme, while Chiyome's Curse is primarily Hot Pink with some black and brown accenting a few poses. Master Panda has a Red Panda Fur and uses Black and Burnt Red, and comes with a Flexible Arm Mod. I think it's safe to say I'm going with the Paw this time around, as it has more poses I can make use of. Still, it's a nice batch of MCs, and I look forward to next month's batch!

Last year's was Celestial Soldier and Elysian Knight. (March is when the third paw item kicked in) I would not hate another Sailor Moon themed MC, but I'd love a LoZ one again too...

I actually like the new envelope. Seems kind of flat, but I like the plain white with a single colour on it.

That being said, I'm not getting my hopes up at all. Last year, I remember being hyped as we had just started the trend of getting updates every day at midnight. So I assumed Gaia would want to start off the year with amazing stuff. But month after months the letters overall were so disappointing.

I'm pretty open for the January MC as far as theme goes. I'm kinda hoping a Scythe will pop up in one of them (aren't I always? cat_xd ), but as far as a general theme...Nothing major comes to mind.

Sailor Animate Paw items would be cute. Iron Mouse, Lead Crow, Aluminum Siren ( whee ), Tin Nyanko~

Even scythes pop up in Sailor Moon, though. You know the fan kids would go crazy for Hotaru item that wasn't just Mistress 9 hair for once, or a loose reference via her celestial hoste. Though Saturn's weapon is not a traditional scythe, 9 is shown with a regular scythe in prophecy visions.

How excited am I? Not really, since it's still two weeks away.

I expect it'll be more of the same sort of stuff that goes into RIGs, nicely done but nothing to set it apart in terms of collectability.

But they'll still be good, so... I'll remember they're happening on the 15th and get excited for them then ;D

Oooooo....Pretty. emotion_kirakira Yeah, IIRC Saturn's weapon was called the Silence Glaive (one of the few details I remember from the Manga my sis got years ago), which more resembles a weapon type known as the War Scythe. That would be a pretty awesome item to have, actually.

Anyway, the letter looks pretty plain compare to last year. However, I don't have an issue as long as the items inside are good.

really wished the letters would've been less plain, in my honest opinion, it kinda looks like a piece of paper that's been torn by hand e A e
but it's my birthmonth too, so i'll be picking one up.

i wanna hope for something in that nice deep red, instead of the flashy saturated one we keep getting. i like both but i do prefer the former one better. for me, casual items would be nice, but i'm eager to see what the artist will come up with
