Lolz, I was hacked on a different game (Runescape, I was 11 or something). Oez no. That was such a major emotional distress. It left me scarred for the rest of my life, certainly. I got back on and became 4x better then I was before, then stopped playing because they're money whores now. But I wasn't scammed again (okay, I was, but that was because of a trade swap), and I was much more intelligent about hack attempts.

It's called natural selection, people. She was not intelligent enough to be on Gaia, yet. She could've just come back when she was older. This is a perfect example of online underage drama. So what, if she's 13? Obviously, Gaia was too big of a playground to be in for her.

But no, we don't heed natural selection anymore. Yes, she should've gotten her items back, but no, she didn't have to serve any sentence for breaking the rules of the TOS. Lol. Hacker = permabanned, she = banned for six months... sounds good. She'd be old enough to handle Gaia when she got back.

Anyways, why can't we punish hackers/scammers in real life? They stole property that was, technically, worth money. They really don't suffer anything more than losing what they stole, because their account isn't worth much to them.

Well hackers can get prosecuted, but for something on Gaia, unless they start taking real things of worth (credit card numbers or identity theft), it ain't gonna happen. The possessions that were sold off (the Monthly Collectibles) are basically rewards for donating. She didn't pay for those items, she donated to the site which in turn, gave her an amount of items equivalent to a set amount. She can't do s**t and the hackers can't get RL B&. Sucks for her, lulz for the rest of us.

I got the exact same PM about a month ago, telling me I was reported.

What really hurts my faith in humanity is that the mother actually went along with all this bull. Oh yes, boo fecking hoo.
