GGN: Guild Updates:
So, it seems that Gaia's finally given a little bit of attention to the old 2005 coding that is the Gaia Guild Network (the GGN). Now, let's look at some of the 'improvements' that has happened to the guilds.
*Ruffles through some papers*
...
Excuse me one moment, I seemed to have lost some important information here, because all I really see is a tag implementation, a restriction on the names, and a description. Now, I'm not one to rant on and on about this kinda thing, but does it really have to be just that? I mean, even before GGN was introduced to Gaia, promises were already being made about GGN Guilds having places in Towns (yeah, that's been around the same time too). We were promised to have something to actually use the donated gold for, other than subforums. Where is it? Why hasn't some of the basic bugs that happen to all people, instead of a few that I saw listed, fixed? Try fixing the new post icon for the subforums, perhaps? Or am I just an old coot who is slowly being driven insane?
Now...onto Spacemen.
*Flips through some files quickly and reads a few lines*
Seems Gaia's on the third ranking, since I saw, for hitting the name. Of course right under us is the name Xenu (hoo boy). However, since Gaia means Earth (not just some goddess or that chick from Captain Planet), it does seem odd that a node (the thing we are voting for) is mainly a water based system.
How is it water based? Let's see...
Quote:
Node 3 will connect to the port side of the Unity Node and will provide room for many of the station’s life support systems, in the form of eight refrigerator-sized racks. After Node 3 is installed, the station’s crew will transfer over many of the Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) currently stored in various places around the station, including:
Oxygen Generation System (OGS), which takes the station’s water and splits it apart into hydrogen, which gets vented into space, and oxygen, which is returned into the cabin for the crew to breathe
Atmosphere Revitalization System (ARS), which controls the station’s carbon dioxide levels and maintains the temperature and atmospheric pressure at comfortable levels
Water Recovery System (WRS) and Urine Processor Assembly (UPA), which take waste water from the station and purify it, separating any contaminants and making it safe for the crew to drink
Waste and hygiene compartment, which provides a place for the crew to use the bathroom in a way that allows the station to process the majority of the water used onboard so that it may be used again, greatly lessening the need for resupply flights from Earth.

Now, that's nothing to be ashamed of in the least, it just made me chuckle a little bit.
On a side note, by damn! Lanzer's first announcement in...how long has it been? *Counts.* Sat Apr 26, 2008. That's just a little less than a year ago. Wow.
And finally, the Avatar System!

Seems the little bugger's finally up. Seems a bit faster to me, but I'm also a bit depressed they took yet another set of wings away from us. Compare:
New System to the Old System
What's your thoughts? Haha, I'd love to hear em.
