A few other things I'd confirm this to be a kpop (particularly exo) item !
Sehun had the EXACT same hair style not too long ago, Growl Era, also very well photographed during the 2013 MAMA's as seen here, here, and here!

At one point in the announcement's "music video" for this "galaxy" You see the avatar with the gray hair AND a pair of black wings. It's already assumed that galaxy is referring to the EXO-M Leader/rapper Kris and to confirm it further, when EXO first released teaser's Kris' teaser was him with no more than GRAY hair, and the ability to fly. You do not see wings here but however you do see Kris with his black dragon here in their debut music video! A little extra tid-bit, I'd be lying if I said the pants didn't remind me of Kai's so infamous shiny pants (he's the one in the direct middle) in this music video which later on in MAMA era appears quite often. And I know you'll probably say they look nothing alike but the directions of the patterns on the pants very much so remind me of Kai's.

One last thing, the cap! Very much so reminds me of a Wolf era cap that many of the members were seen wearing before! Now, I know that any idol could've worn the hat. But..the majority of the XOXO/Growl albums have all twelve exo members in caps more than once!
This is just my input that I discussed with a friend who encouraged me to post in here so I hope you can just see why I believe it is an kpop/exo item and not a bieber item lol.

I thought of justin bieber + miley (cuz of the hair) but then the eyes and jacket didn't seem to match their styles so idk, looking at the bottom of the announcement I guess it really was kpop. Haha. I like the hat and eyes ^^

I have no idea what K-pop is, never heard of it. I guess my mind went straight to JB. Either way the item isn't to my taste. Glad that many people are excited over the item though. ^^

Unfortunately a lot of people would associate this style with Bieber only because he's so ingrained in pop culture media and English language is spoken/learned by a majority of people.
It's not a negative thing, he's just that pervasive.

Not too many people are exposed to the pop scenes in different cultures mostly because of the language barrier, we're just not familiar with foreign cultures. We can learn or be people who don't give a flying duck about learning new cultures in the first place.

Side note:

Xenophobia also isn't simply "fear or hatred of foreign things"
Although these terms are generally used or associated to the EXTREME people DO dislike foreign cultures immediately and irrationally.

For instance you can say "I hate x genre of music" because of the time period or genre.

But as a people we've also all developed a misleading association to the word "pop" it's no longer just "popular music at the time" pop became a genre on its own.

So...when some people say "I hate K-pop" and they mean "I hate Korean Popular Music" as an over arching term.
They don't understand that there is Pop, Rock, R&B, Rap, Country, Oldies and it's all categorized as "K-pop"
Making "I hate K-pop" and irrational statement in these instances.
