Hey now, don't discredit the resources already available to canon!X! He's already got Frank with him, and Frank's pretty good at pretending like he's a regular person. Maybe he's coaching X to someday face society so we don't completely rebel when he takes us over / kills us all with science.

And, hmm, you actually make Luca sound pretty horrifying for a tiny baby man! But yeah, looking back on the manga, he's actually a lot darker than I read initially with the whole "I will kill you for a minor infraction without any proof thing." Plus, I missed it on the first few reads, but he's used that glove on other vampires before. So that, plus the fact that he has hordes of vampires at his disposal and the implication in the newest part of zOMG that the Von Helson Sisters have lost hold of the entire clan (and *possible spoilers* it looks like Louie might be brainwashed or suddenly evil. It's hard to tell because no one is releasing conclusive spoilers yet, but there's a mini boss called The Count that looks like an evil Louie and seems to be at Kamila's disposal.) so that coupled with the fact that even the friendliest Kuro, Cordell, dislikes vampires, makes you wonder if he's trying to kill them all off on purpose. I love it when people convert me to darker character interpretations!

And yes, I might be a little on the rabid side when it comes to Zhivago, but I am all about a fate worse than death for him. Given what's already been said and done in the plot, Luca's pretty much giving him the sadistic choice between serving him or cutting his arm/hand off, which would probably ruin his career because no one else needs vampire assassins (except maybe NeXus) but the Kuros and they're not exactly hurting for them right now.

Also, I'm working on the RP guild right now (I have been so busy with school though) making backstory and references, and that's got me thinking about vampires and G-Corp. Do you think that G-Corp, at least the higher ups, did any experiments on vampires? Convergence suggests that none of the labtechs (or, at least, living labtechs. Almost all of the ones we know of are dead now or working for NeXus.) knew about the cure they were working on, but that doesn't necessarily exclude them from knowing about vampires, and those treatments of Ian's had to have been testing on someone. As nuts as early!Johnny was, I don't think he'd test things on Ian. I'm also kind of wondering if the G-Virus was derived from vampires, since zombies and vampires are sort of similar, though I'm pretty sure they don't write romance novels starring glittery zombies...do they?

Also, this is barely relevant, but I'm having way too much fun inventing Kuros and NeXus labtechs that will probably never be used for everything.

Yeah...that's what I was hoping when he said NPCs aren't immortal.

All snarkiness aside, yeah, he does answer a lot of questions with "I'll have to talk to so-and-so about that". But I haven't noticed much of that in relation to plot. Items, features, bugs, that kind of stuff he defers, but with plot he acts like he does know what's going on. *shrug* That's just what I've seen though, and I haven't kept up with AtA in months.

Eh, he does seem to know sometime, though I've seen him give answers other times that sound like he just made them off the top of the head. Then again, he is one of the canon-makers, so I guess he can do that! He did pretty good at this last AtA, though he didn't really seem to know what the Dark Reflection was, but eh, some GCDers don't keep up on all the RIGs.

Also, speaking of AtA and in sort of Gambino-related news (X is a Gambino! He's just got a double dose of crazy.) he also said that NeXus funds themselves instead of just funneling money from X's dad G-Corp, so I guess that's good news. It does beg the question of what they actually do though. And y'know, what does G-Corp for a profit actually do besides mad science? I think they've said it does biomedical stuff, but we haven't exactly seen a lot of that. We actually have a lot of vaguely defined corporations running around Gaia.

Also, about the RP, am hoping to have it up after my finals in a week. I'm still writing the setting stuff, but I have a basic plot premise.

So yeah, he did take some of Johnny's assets (...erm...) in order to fund NeXus, although one could argue that that technique was only used to build up the company rather than to sustain it.

Which still leaves the question of what it does other than research the Animated to its own ends.

However, in Manga Zero, it's pretty strongly implied that Edmund's retirement was what allowed Johnny to put the "mad" in "mad science", so to speak. This happened in 1999 (the article is "from" 1/1/00), long before any of us were around to see what G Corp was really meant to do. So that one's easy to explain away: all the awesome world-changing scientific advancements happened when the company was run by someone sane. xd

Oh yeah, didn't mean to imply that NeXus didn't embezzle, just that they earn money other ways than embezzling. But as for what they actually sell, I dunno. Heh, maybe they sell the most awesome Animated children's toys ever or something. That's going to be my new headcanon until proven otherwise.
