Dressing the Part

Obviously on a site like Gaia, dressing up and customizing your avatar is a large feature.
Another feature that drives the site are the events.

So, of course, there's often a crossover. Obviously events reward you with avatar items, but does it stop there for you, the user?

It always warms my heart when I see users whose avatars reflect what's currently going on in the world of Gaia.

I want to, but almost always forget or do a poor job at it.

Halloween is usually my favourite, along with christmas. Uses colours I can use.

I do try to participate in spirit week every year though!

I wasn't planning on doing so at first, but the more I saw themed avies, the more I wanted to have a go at it. I also wanted to use items that were gathering dust in my inventory.

For my event avie, it's made purely for fun. The idea of an 'avenging tanuki' out for blood was too neat to pass, especially with the current glitch and the constant stream of wounded tanuki members in the healing threads.

I try to dress up for halloween yearly, and Christmas is reserved for wearing event items.

Usually I am dressed up for the event and in particular the side I am in.
My favorite is winter, autumn and halloween. It's easier because the color and theme are easily made with my invo item.
This time, I am feeling too disappointed to even do it. I don't really want to spend all the gold purchasing the required item
Even if I look well off, I am tottering on the edge.

The shade of brown this time is actually to my liking since I like brown, just making it japanese/ tanuki is the hard part
there's simply not enough raccoon item you see.

I tend to make use of the event item, also I will wear them out of event if I can make them work.
using event item helps after all to be in theme when i have not much item to match the theme.

I usually do dress up for like: Halloween (FAV!!!) Christmas, Valentines.
But I don't make outfits for every event,
Right now I might end up wearing my animal kitsune skin at some point, but I wont be buying anything special.

anyway, on to the topic!
i like dressing up for events. it makes me feel like a true blue participant. i usually dress in whatever i have. i own a hanabi and that became my basis for my color scheme. during the spring fling, i got dressed in rich purple to get cygnus' attention (it didnt work). i decided on an avi persona one day, and since then, i revolve my outfits around her too and even roleplay as her. i'm on team kitsune, but look at my bunny mask lol but if i had pretty kitsune stuff, i might just wear it. and yes, i love hoarding event items. you'll never know when youll need them—like how the spring fling corsage became part of my magical girl persona's base avatar.

I'm dressed up for the current event...and had been planning for it for a little while. And yes, it's reflecting which side I am on.

Avis are one of the main sources of fun for me on Gaia, so get easily swept up in doing themed ones for events.

I don't always keep it on for the entire event though, I get distracted easily.

If I'm into the event, I'll dress up for it, yeah. I decided to represent tanukis for the summer matsuri. emotion_yatta

I don't really have any go-to items for certain events, though around Christmas I prefer to go with icy blues rather than red/greens. If there's new stuff released for an event, I'll usually end up making an avatar with something from it.

It all just depends on the event. I try to dress up for the ones I like ex: Halloween or Christmas. I was worried this time around- don't get me wrong, I love the whole idea behind the event, but the two color palates were not the best choices for the two teams. I'm sure that at the end of the day, I picked the harder team to try to dress up for, but after some fiddling around, I think I've found my new favorite avi in a long long time. Honestly, in the past few months this teal green that has been popping up everywhere has got me to like the color so much that I try to find a way to use it with every avi I make now.

My body has been ready for this event for weeks. It'll probably change in minute details in the next 2 weeks, and then go back to normal after that.

Gotta love a blood bath avi for Halloween and a festive avi for xmas and a sensual avi for the holiday for reproduction (Easter). Summer event themes vary, if it's an olympic year I'll go with a Durem theme, other years I'll go with whatever the theme is for that event. This year it was shark themed for the beach.

I love dressing up for events! Anything as an excuse to make a new avatar really.
I tend to hoard the event items as pretty as they are..
It just feels like everyone uses them much better than I ever will...

I want to reflect my best all the time, but I generally don't have the items I'd want to do a themed avatar on the fly. So dressing for Gaia events can get expensive for me. That being said, I'll only do it when I really like the event or if I have enough already to use the freebies to my liking.

I am definitely all dolled up for this event because kimonos are just the s**t and I love that they chose out of the box colors this time around. I do usually dress up for Christmas and Halloween and have a little party with my friends in my cute little Gaian house.
