Introduction

Up in the further reaches of Northern Canada, there lies a place you can only get to by knowing where you're going or getting lost. It's not an ominous place, no, but it is isolated, and in the middle of nowhere. To the left there are trees, and to the right there are more trees. Only the cobblestone path and the regularly cut lawn around the building break the monotony. Obviously, the lawn had to be cultivated, but whoever had done it knew a thing or two, or pretended to.

The building itself was massive, even though it was only a two story construct. It faced west, orange light reflecting off of the large glass panels at the fore during sunset. Only after passing through the harmless glass barrier was the entrance proper made apparent; two large, mahogany doors set within the stone threshold. Above the doors, in a giant plaque of the same wood, are engraved two words: Winter Rose. Save the glass-encased patio and the wooden doors, the entire exterior was made of stone, three shades of gray. Were it not for the welcoming glow it seemed to radiate - and that same glass patio - it could pass for a fortress fairly well.

Once you pull the brass latched handles open, you are greeted by a warm, autumnal interior. The carpet is a soft, plush, forest green color spreading to almost every corner of the room, save the area behind the large bar across from you. The walls are painted a soft, earthy gray color, and are decorated with calming artwork - paintings and the like - for decoration. Immediately to your right is a black, grand piano set upon a wooden stage made of the same material as the doors. In fact, everything made of wood is mahogany; the tables and chairs, the bar counter, and two other doors set within the northern and southern walls. Above you are high, wooden rafters, with five-blade fans twirling rhythmically, incandescent lights at the center. Somehow, you get the feeling that the fans are contributing to the subtle scent of natural wood that has settled in the room.

The bar is large, but spacey, suited to fit twelve people in the high backed, bolted down seats of smooth, black leather. The seats rotate to the left and right for easy admittance to and from the bar. Mounted on the wall, above the counter full of different liquor bottles, the register, the tilted mirror reflecting your image is a portrait of two people.

Likely the first thing you notice is that neither of them are human. The man, standing on the left, is young - probably early twenties - and would look otherwise normal were it not for his large, fox-like ears and bushy tail, neither of which are traditional fox colors, but are rather shine like silver. At least that's how the artist captured it. He looks relaxed in his casual attire, but his companion looks like a witch. Not the traditional black cloak, fugly faced witch, but she was adorned in black all the same, like him, and the tailoring seemed to imply 'magic powers'. Although she looked more normal than he, save her choice in clothing, she two had an abnormality on her head. No, not her unnaturally cerulean locks of hair, but rather, the two short, white horns which protruded from the same points at the front of her skull as the young man's ears. The two look happy together, but there is no caption, no title, and no artist labeled anywhere near or on the portrait.

Oh well. You're just here for a drink.

Front Patio
The exterior, glass enclosed entrance of the bar and inn. Although the club is dominantly rectangular, the front has a large, round protrusion reaching out of it, made dominantly of glass. The patio rests within this glass antechamber. The cobble stone continues within and expands across the entire floor, upon which four large wooden tables are set, each with four seats.

Main Room
The main room is the place to sing, dance, play the piano, look at art, lounge, get a drink, or even a meal. Bathrooms are available in the northwest corner and consist of a toilet stall and a sink. The entire floor - open to the public - is covered by a plush carpet that muffles virtually every footstep and feels pretty good to bare feet - which are welcome. The southwest corner has a stage set four feet high with a grand piano at the center, which is open to anyone, whether for practice, or for actual entertainment purposes. The stage is large enough for a few people to accompany the pianist or even disregard the piano altogether if they wish to play their own instrument. A microphone rests against the southern wall, out of the way unless anyone needs it.

There are two large, L-shaped leather couches that rest against either open side of the stage and span its length save the area cut out for the stairs. The second leg of the western couch stops five feet shy of the entrance; the same distance as that between the end of the southern couch and the door leading off to the bedrooms. A wood-and-stone coffee table rests before both couches to set drinks upon.

Three booths are set in the room; a large ten-seater in the second and two four-seaters against the walls facing the interior. Like the couches near the stage, the seats are upholstered with leather. The bar seats also share this quality, a total of twelve surrounding the counter.

Kitchen
The kitchen is large enough to prepare several meals at a time, but should not be considered a restaurant kitchen. Although fully stocked, nothing it intentionally prepared for quick cooking. A walk in fridge houses most produce, cheeses, milk, and other such products that require refrigeration. Further in is the freezer which houses most of the meat, which is transferred to the fridge to maintain a consistent amount of thawed food. The six-eye range is built over an over-sized oven, and above this unit is a cabinet for cooking oils, cooking wine, certain sauces, etc. The rest of the seasonings will be found to the left in the two upper cabinets nearest the wall. Adjacent to these are the cabinets housing the plates and bowls. All glasses are available at the bar.

The bottom row of cabinets contains the pots, pans, mixing bowls, a slow cooker, rice cooker, etc. The silverware is situated in the drawers above these cabinets. Plenty of counter space is available, and electrical sockets are installed along the length of the wall. A separate, stainless steel counter lies across the room, and is provided for any messy preparation such as cutting meats and the like. Cutting boards are hung up against the wall along with a simple knife set. Directly to the right of this counter is a double sink for cleaning, but everything will have to be hand-dried.

Store Room
This is the room containing all the various ingredients needed for drinks at the bar. The liquors and liqueurs, juices, salts, and syrups, can all be found here. Although most of these things can be found in the fridge, occasionally thing have to be replaced. In the center of the floor is a hatch that allows the tender to access the wine cellar below ground.

Bedrooms
All bedrooms come with a queen-size bed, bathroom, walk-in closet, night stand, dresser, and entertainment stand. Each room also has a large window on the perimeter wall, with split curtains to open or close at the discretion of the guest. Like the main room, the floors are carpeted a plush, forest green color. The bathrooms have a tub, toilet, sink/counter, mirror, cabinet, and towel rack. A mat rests at the base of the tub to prevent slipping when stepping out. Otherwise, the floors are tiled. The closets are equipped with a standard iron and ironing board against the back wall. All furniture can be rearranged at will.

Laundry Room
The laundry room is found at the end of the northern corridor in the west room. Within are eight washing machines and eight dryers double-stacked. These are not coin operated and are freely open to the residents.

Linen Closet
Found on the second floor above the laundry room, the linen closet is similarly open to residential use. It houses extra bath, bar, and kitchen towels; bedsheets and comforters; toilet paper; and limited supplies of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash, and cleaning products. There are also two vacuums and a carpet cleaner in the back.

Pool Room
On the second floor above the bar and kitchen area is the pool room. The floor is a rough marble slab to prevent slipping. Within is a large L-shaped pool that is shallowest near the entrance at two feet but becomes as deep as ten feet near the back of the room. A large hot tub is fitted into the southwest corner of the room, with room for about a dozen people around the perimeter. Although open to the public, a shower room and towels are not provided. Extra towels can be found in the linen closet if needed. For those not wanting to swim, or needing a break, a few long beach chairs are set up and can be moved at the discretion of the guests.

Update to number xi, and a new xii added
i. Follow ToS
ii. Although this is an RP thread, OOC is permitted. Please focus your energy on roleplaying though.
iii. It shouldn't have to be said, but no cybering.
iv. Gratuitous obscenities do not make your character a bigger bad a**. Swear all you like, but civility is appreciated.
v. Spamming, begging, bumping, and advertising are not welcome here. Keep it in your sig, please.
vi. Make attempts to keep your posts literate; correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation to the best of your ability. Refusal to do this will not be tolerated, but careless errors will not be penalized.
vii. No excessive quoting. Generally, it isn't even needed, but if so, limit it to two quotes per page.
viii. Oversized images that stretch pages will be deleted. Similarly, extensive posts will be frowned upon. Literate roleplay is encouraged, but don't get ridiculous.
ix. Killing is not permitted unless the killer and victim have agreed to it before hand. CK will not be recognized otherwise.
x. Do not trash the place unnecessarily. Fights are fine, but either way, godmodding is forbidden.
xi. As per the above rule, try to get to the meat of the matter. I appreciate literate posts that display your creative ability and attention to detail, but I have found that constantly doing this means you can't do a great deal of RPing in a single day or even over several days. Short posts are perfectly welcome, though we discourage one-liners.
xii. Distinguish in whatever way makes you happy your OOC from your IC posts. Make sure others are able to recognize it as well.
xiii. All rules are subject to penalty, but I am not obligated to warn you before I blacklist/report you.
xiv. Rules are subject to change with or without warning. I will try to notify all players, but may fail to do so.
xv. Some characters will be assholes, and some will be sugar induced eight year olds, while some are just naturally indifferent. Positive and negative relationships will develop, but do not make your character's enemies your own.
xvi. In other words, have fun.
Notes

i. The location of Winter Rose is Northern Canada; pecifically in the Northwest Territories. You can Wiki the region to get an overview of such things as climate.

ii. Winter Rose is a member of an RP collective. We are not a guild in that each thread has its own identity and patrons, but the canon within these threads does cross over into one another.

iii. Characters can get mail. You do not have to RP interaction with the surly postal worker who has to come all this way. Let it be a given that all letters and parcels will be delivered to your door.

iv. Entrance doors are opened by pulling. Also, don't forget that they are latched. If you don't press down on the latch, the doors won't open.

v. The glass that surrounds the patio has a UV block. Certain breeds of vampires can rejoice!

vi. The second floor balcony above the patio leads into the master bedroom. You can't get in that way, so don't bother.

vii. The wall containing the entrance to the pool and hot tub is all glass. Just fyi.

viii. The room to the alcohol is locked at all times, even during business hours. Conversely, the kitchen is open to the public if there is not a cook on staff.

ix. A radio and television do exist in the club. The staff can access them for you.

x. In case the first note didn't register, this thread is RPd on Earth. A modified Earth in which magic creatures and perhaps advanced technologies exist, but Earth nonetheless.

- Awh, right!

Sounds awesome! Can I start posting immediately? -
<<You sure can!>>
So This is how it feels...

Miya had thought it would be a good Idea to walk around in the forest. Unfortunately now she was lost. not only that but she had been lost for a few hours judging by the sun. Her breath grew frantic as she tried even more desperately to find her way out. Her legs had scratches from the passing branches. Her black skirt served no help in covering her legs as it was halfway up her thighs and poofy with petty coats some of which had ripped in the struggle to get out of the forest.. she had on a Black tank top and a long trench
coat which she taken off and draped over her arm long ago. Her boots were ankle length and helped with the terrain but she still was hopefully lost.
Then she saw a building. Pressing the latch and pulling the door she stepped in.
Walking in slowly Miya admired the atmosphere with Wide eyes.
"Wow..." she murmured.

('ello ello!)
