Welcome to Gaia! ::

Humming to herself, Seishi stretched as she walked down the hall and into the common area. Sniffing the air, she instantly noticed something different...or, rather...someone. "Oh, hey! Long time no see, Vice. Everything okay?" she questioned, walking over to the countertop.
Seishi pulled out two glasses, dropping some ice in either of them. Turning, she ran her fingers over the bottles on the shelf before her fingers stopped on a bottle with the name "Oban". Seishi pulled the whiskey from the shelf and poured it in to both glasses, placing the one meant for him in front of a seat at the bar.
Something...in her gut said that there was something wrong. But she wasn't sure just...what it was.
"Mm...?" Vice lifted his head to see a glass of whiskey prepared for him at the bar. As much as he didn't like the idea of moving just then, liquor sounded fantastic at the moment. After a long second of deliberation Vice heaved himself out of his seat and trudged to the bar, sitting himself in a stool heavily before picking up the glass and taking a swig. "S'okay." He mumbled, rubbing a hand through his hair. "Just a long week..."
"Oh?" her eyebrows rose and she sipped at the whiskey, "What happened? If you don't mind me asking."
"Just... taking care of the bar..." He replied in a somewhat cagey tone, taking another sip of whiskey. "I'll have to go out soon though... hate to leave the place untended..." He made a sour face at that. Anyone who'd paid attention to his comings and goings would know that when Vice 'went out' he tended to come back smelling of sex and booze. Surprisingly, though, Vice rather loathed these outings.
Seishi frowned and downed the rest of her whiskey, "I'm assuming someone else can't do it for you, hm?" she turned and began to mix herself a gin and tonic, "I'll watch the bar while you're gone, It'll be fine. I just wish I could help."
At Seishi's comment on helping Vice almost choked on his whiskey, his face turning rather red. "Er... I mean... s'nice of you to say but... um... I mean... uh..." He ruffled his hair with his hands and then took another long swig of whiskey, mumbling under his breath. "Yanno... I um... usually it's lots of different... um... it takes a lot of... er... could hurt you or something.... yeah..."
Seishi raised an eyebrow and smiled a bit, "I think I understand. I'll just...watch the bar. Tell me if you need me to do anything, though." She knew vaguely of his past and...well...knew not to question things. Her eyes were drawn to Korben and she grinned, "How's the pup doing?"
Vice grumbled a bit, still a bit ruffled, but nodded when Seishi asked about the dog. "He's fine. Still growing, if you can believe it. He probably eats more than Micah did." He glanced back at the dog, still snoozing next to the pillow, his paws twitching every now and then. "But um... I'll try to stay in the bar as long as I can... you know... just to be safe..."
Seishi softly chuckled as she watched Korben for a bit. He reminded her so much of her puppy... eh, those were thoughts for another time with much more alcohol and a dark room. "More than Micah? Seriously?" she paused for a bit, sipping her gin and tonic. "Well...he is a growing pup." Seishi looked over at him, blinking. "That would be appreciated. After Karasu...I've been a little on edge with who could decide to come in. Without Rune here, I can only do so much. I wouldn't forgive myself if I ruined the Wendigo."
"Well... I'm sure you wouldn't ruin it... but you can't take care of the forest, or lock the place down... or use the security system...." He rubbed the back of his head - the more he thought about it, the more he realized it was rather necessary for him to stick around. Though he would have to leave eventually, he had to keep his own strength up.
Seishi covered her face with her hands, shaking her head. "I am absolutely useless when it comes to making use of the actual abilities of this establishment. I really need to...learn..." she stopped herself before taking a sip of her drink. "Who am I kidding, It's not something I can learn. I'll just...have to make the best of what I can do." she grumbled. "You and Rune won't always be around to be ridiculously amazing."
Vice blushed again, this time out of modesty. "Well... mum is the real wonder... I can just barely keep this place going... I'll be needing to um... go out... a lot more often than usual if I'm to keep it up..." After a long moment he seemed to realize his terrible word choice and immediately buried his head in his arms, muttering a variety of curses in a rainbow of languages under his breath.
This time Seishi couldn't help but giggle at his misfortune. "Yes, well, that's perfectly understandable. Rune had Micah to feed on. I suppose, since you don't have anyone here, you'll need to go out to... keep it up." she shrugged and finished off the rest of her gin and tonic. "Frankly, the two of you are just...Watching you and Rune work and defend is just mind blowing." Seishi looked down at her hands as they held the glass, then back over at him, "How you to use energy is just...ridiculous." she knew she was rambling but, she figured anythign would be better than letting him sit there and be embarrassed.
Vice looked up from his arms, grateful for Seishi's willingness to overlook that Freudian slip of his, and took another sip of whiskey. "It's... nothing really big... I mean... we were both just kinda born with it. Mum's better at it though... she had her mum to teach her. I just had to kind of figure it out on my own... and besides, I'm more vampire than elf." He said that last part rather sourly - one would almost think he was jealous of his mother's parentage. But then again, given who his father was, it wasn't hard to imagine why.
"Hm..." she tilted her head, looking at him. "The ability is still there, you just have to keep training it. Plus, I think you're perfect just the way you are." Seishi leaned over the countertop with the same bottle as earlier, pouring him another glass of whiskey.
