You may have been in town for a few weeks or all your life. Either way you've heard of this bar. The silk whisper is well known but never too busy it feels like the place you can sit and never be judged. Some come here to disappear, others come to make new friends or build their lives, but either way they all come to the silk whisper for a good atmosphere and some good amateur entertainment or good people, so come on in have a drink and unwind. You can bend our ear and we'll listen or we can leave you be, you decide.

The rules

Rule 1. Follow the TOS standard rule in any rp.
Rule 2. I am god and what I say goes, and BoundbytheBlade acts as Demi-god. He has the same authority as me and acts as my eyes and ears when I am gone.
Rule 3. This is non magical rp, no vampires, werewolves etc no superpowers. If you can't make your character interesting without magic then don't bother posting here.
Rule 4. Romance and drama are encouraged but keep it pg-16 we do a timeskip every night after closing so use it if you have to.
Rule 5. This is a drama and character driven thread not an action movie, no violence beyond a basic bar fight or a fist fight in the parking lot, normal people don't know kung fu, any one who fights in here may be blacklisted if they trash the joint.
Rule 6. No ID no entry, no walk ins or one liners, do not post unless you submit a profile to me or BoundbytheBlade indicate you read all the rules by putting "on the rocks" in the subject line. BoundbytheBlade is more active so he will usually respond faster.
Rule 7. This is a semi-lit to full lit rp, we understand writers block but a minimum of 5 sentences a post isn't too hard right?
Rule 8. Remain active! If you work here, we expect you to do your shift, and we like to see our customers come back. If you have to be absent let us know otherwise post at least once a day. If you are absent too often as an employee you will be fired in character but if you keep up posting as a patron you may get your job back
Rule 9. The time and date are subject to time here so make sure you check back to know what's going on like the weather.
Rule 10. Have fun, this is a nice club and a classy joint but try to keep nice language in here, profanity is allowed just not every other word.
Rule 11. Be creative! This is a character driven plot so keep it interesting.
Rule 12. No more than 3 characters per person besides myself and Bound is the exception

You come in to see the place is pretty open, the lighting is soft but not dark, the bar itself is made of dark oak with bottles of all types and glasses of all sizes behind it, there are some stools up front and a few tables here and there overlooking a piano and a small stage, the shows change but the piano never moves. Down a small hall there is the restrooms and just to the left of the bar is a door marked office that never seems to open, so pull up a spot pick your poison could be any day or a special occasion doesn't matter one way or another at the silk whisper.

Silk whisper is officially open!

Jarvis flipped a switch by the bar and the blue neon sign came alight outside another switch flipped to bring the open sign on. Once the lights were on he resumed wiping down the bar insuring it was clean and smooth for tonight. A couple bowls of mixed nuts were on the tables and some candles set as centerpieces. Samuel was warming up on the piano and a soft melody filled the room. The band wouldn't be here for another hour. Tonights theme was smooth jazz. The doors were now unlocked and the bottles were full. Jarvis was ready for the rush as this was merely the calm before the storm. He would have his drinks after last call as he never drank on the job. A glass of water sat behind him among the bottles, the ice making the cool glass sweat. The bar was open, the silk whisper was waking up.

Jonnah Finchberg

The night was warm and the street seemed quiet. No doubt it wouldn't stay this way long. The Silk Whisper's light flickered. Good she groaned. After a slump of a day it would be nice to settle in and listen to Sam share some tunes on the piano. Without hesitation she strove to the bar and sat square in front of Jarvis, wanting nothing more but a couple White Russians, and some good peace. "Hit me with my usual" she slipped, as she sat against her usual stool to glare over the room.

Jarvis smiled and responded "two seconds there Jonnah" he picke up an old fashioned glass spinning in in his palm while he tossed the vodka bottle and poured an ounce, as he put it back he splashed in a dash of kahlua Finally he pulled out the sweet cream and shook it slightly before adding just enough to get that soft caramel color with a black base and white head, he pushed the drink over to Jonnah, "first of the night is on the house, you look like you need it."

Catherine smiles at her darling friends as she walked in the doors of the Lodge in her sassy yet classy clothes for tonight theme. " Evening my classy smooth musicians! How are we feeling tonight ?" she giggles excitedly and struck a dramatic pose. She is always excited for each night, everything new and different every night, new friends, talking to familiar ones and adding more idiots to the Wall of Shame. She chuckled at that and shook her head.




Taylor let out a giggle as she saw Catherine add a bit of favor to the place, like she always does. Taylor replied as she walked up to the older sweet woman and gave her a hug,
" Feeling a bit lonely when you are away, but it just better now that you are here, Cat. You are a bit late then usual."
The redhead smirks," Hey you know well better than me that perfection is takes time." she posed and winked the blond girl before turning toward Jarvis," Isn't that right Jarvis?"

Jarvis simply shook his head with a hopeless smile on his face and a gentle sigh, Catherine was always a fan of being in the limelight which made her a bit of a showboater and Taylor seemed eager to work, that was good because once the night got going Jarvis would be making drinks non stop.



Samuel sat up on the corner of the stage behind the keys to his piano and chuckled lightly to himself as he played random melodies that seemed to string together into a soft freeform jazz number. Tonight there would be a lounge band with a saxophone a cello and a trumpet to play along with him, despite being the clubs only permanent performer sam had never been a center stage star hungry jealous type, he was simply happy to play and see the people enjoy his music.

Just like that her White Russian sat before her, Jarvis smiling as he set it down. For owning a bar he was ironically cheerful. When she first met him, she bet it had to do with his access to several different bottles of alcoholic escapes. Though once she got to know him, she oddly enough discovered he actually liked his job. Lucky b*****d. But she was happy for him nonetheless. Especially since he was around to take the edge off of her hard days. Though he did always do one thing that bothered her. He always insisted on calling her Jonnah. True, it was the designated "tag" upon her birth certificate. But she never did care for the name. Yet no matter how many times she told him to simply call her "Jo" he continued to poke. Before she could comment however, Catherine; his business partner and friend found herself beside them. She never had anything in common with Catherine. But she didn't mind her being around in the least. So long as she didn't interrupt her moment with her drink, she couldn't give a rat's a** what she did. It was her joint after all.

Feara was just finishing up whipping down the last of the tables when she heard Catherine walk in and saw Johnnah at the bar drinking her regular white Russian and talking to her brother Jarvis. She walked behind the bar and put the rag away. "Hey Jo. Rough day?" Feara asked kindly to the woman sitting at the bar. Then turned to look at Catherine. "Hey Catherine."
