I am the last of my family." He laughs. "They were all murdered...just now!! I don't even know by whom." He takes another drink of his wine. His eyes glowing a passion red. But still he looked at the girl kindly. "That is what trouble me my love. That is why I cannot be happy this moment." He turns away ashamed of his weakness.

I can't say I completely understand, but my sympathies..
