Now that he knew he wasn't going to be asked, he had to think about it. The forbidden reason! He had to find it out now. Alex's face looked somewhat stern and fell into a small trance, temporarily lost in thought.
Something tells me it was the doing of one of my daughters.. probably Evangeline, she's very mischievous. Especially mischievous enough to stick me to a wall and make me fall a fair amount of feet.
Alex pointed up to the ceiling of the bar area, then to the floor.
..Yeah. Sizable drop, now that I think about it.
Then a shake of the head and a dismissal of the thoughts. He'd punish her, but that girl likes everything he does.
Another shake of the head. Damn it all.

A baker? Unexpected. But yes, rather dull. How's the job security for a baker, though? While everyone enjoys a cook of any kind, a cook with a job is all the more impressive.
Clearly he was currently employed.. but you never know. Maybe some rival baking company would roll in and steal all the customers. Wall-bake or what-have-you.
Alex yawned softly as he pulled out a five dollar bill and played around with it, waiting for someone to pluck it from his hands and make delicious magic happen.
What caught him more off guard about Clyde was his sudden loss of panache as he contemplated his advances towards Vivian.
Er.. What? Out of your league. That's a first, and all this sudden.. wimpiness.. seems out-of-character for you. On par with my blessing in value, my advice is this; She seems to have little interest in any other guy-- and given the archetypes of brute, trickster, and charismatic figure, I can't blame her -- so just get close to her in the way that you feel as best. Being a worker doesn't mean you spend more time with her, especially considering you're here all the time to begin with.
Also, the only other jobs are DJ and Bouncer, so you'd actually be spending less time with her. While she'd appreciate help, I'm sure she'd also appreciate company. Just.. come in early and help her clean up, eh?

After a pause, Alex smirked ever-so-slightly and shook his head slowly.
Makin' me think, eh? No good comes of that, Clyde.

To Adrenaline!
Alex swigged the new milkshake, which he felt was fair grounds. He made no request and got Vivian's Choice.
Oh. Oh. Oh-ho-ho. This wasn't the best, certainly not Hunter's little bits of ingenuity.. but a small round of applause and a salute accompanied this new flavor, regardless.
Not at all a bad one, V!
Admittedly he hated surprises, the ultimate in irony, but the gesture was kind and the flavor was good.
Is this why the price is so high? Ya got a Ben 'n' Jerry's holed up back there?
Alex laughed and drank his milkshake some more. It all made sense now!
Speaking of the damn devil, there she was. Almost as if she knew they were talking about her, but now was the time to shut up and enjoy the view, with respect that is. "Ah Thankyou Viv. How kind of you." A tanned hand made contact with the water as he lifted it to his lips, his crimson gaze dancing over her face and dropping to the tiniest bit of cleavage present. It was a quick glance, so fast that if she weren't looking she wouldn't notice. But she was, and surely she did. Though he would hold his gaze, locking with her deep eyes and smiling while he sat down the glass. "So does this mean I get something new too?" Clyde questioned with a thin finger pointing over at Alex's milkshake. He couldn't blame Viv. It must got tiresom making the same milkshakes over and over again without change.

Plus, Alex needed to be more adventurous. He made it clear that he didn't drink alcohol, and he barely set foot on the dance floor. Alex could at least try a new milk shake. Lips twisted into a light smirk as as he finger prodded the glass back in Viv's direction, hoping she would fix him something new as well. "And what is this I hear about you hiring another body? Finally found some help?" His raven brow would rise above his gaze as he focused on her face, one hand lifting to sift fingers through his messy hair. There was no reason for it actually other than force of habit. Clyde didn't really have a set style. It was one of those, wash in the morning and finger style type things. It was messy however, an after a good night type look. Which was something he hadn't had in a while. Though Alex wasn't exactly making it easier as he blabbed about while Viv just happened to show up. Talk about shitty timing.

Clyde wanted to die. Why would Alex just throw Clydes 'wimpiness' out in the open like that? But indeed it was a bit out of character. Clyde was going rather hard the first two nights here after Viv. However he's a bit smarter than that. Viv hadn't made her intentions clear, and perhaps what started as maybe a little one night fun shifted for Clyde. There was promise in those deep pools of her's. Something deeper that maybe, just maybe Clyde could get to know. Maybe he was crazy for thinking so, but for once, he would try. But if her desires were different, in time, she would let him know.

As much as Clyde wanted to respond, he would simply shake his head and lift his hands to rub his temples, figuring it best to just let it slide. Maybe Viv would as well. "U-Uh.." Clyde stumbled on his words, nerves kicking him in the jaw slightly, but with a deep breath he would gather himself, his calm gaze lifting to meet with Viv. "Like I said..I want a surprise too.." He didn't care what she made for him at this point. It had just better be strong...

They had been chatting about something, and Viv was really only able to catch the last blip of it. Something about coming in early and helping her clean up? Viv brushed the thoughts to the side, however, as Alex was consumed by the milkshake, giving her a little bit of a compliment on it. Viv didn't let her gaze wander, however, and instead held Clyde's. Well, she tried to when he dipped his gaze for just a split second to her chest but then back up. Ah, he was a smart one. Viv's smile became a sly smirk, waiting for him to allow her to make a drink other than water. Apparently, he just wanted a surprise, but was also asking about the new hired help she had. Viv picked up a glass and turned her gaze towards the booze filled shelves. Her elbow was leaning against the counter, body hovering closer towards Clyde as she debated over what type of drink she could make for him tonight. "Yes, well Alex. I actually decided that it would just be easier for me to have Ben and Jerry here. So I have them tied up underneath the freezer and giving me their newest creations. Don't worry, I feed them." Viv smirked, shifting her gaze to Clyde with a light twinkle in those opaque orbs, even offering a wink.

But her gaze shifted once more and so did her topic of conversation. "Yes, I did decide to hire someone. A cute girl, around the age of twenty two. She's a new bartender and I saw her style, I think she'll bring in a lot more customers." Viv explained it while her mind was calculating the thousands of drinks she had encountered throughout life. There were so many! Finally, Viv decided on one. Pushing herself from the bar's surface, she wandered over to the rails of booze and began to pick a couple up after filling the glass with ice. She moved fast, and perhaps Clyde would only be able to tell that there was vodka in the glass but there was a couple more things than just that. Soon, a clear glass was sat down in front of Clyde, blue colored liquid slowly edging its way from the top and distilling itself into the rest of the glass. Mixing it would be his problem if he wanted to. "Blue Hawaiian Screw, tell me how you like it." It had vodka, pineapple juice and blue curacao. Not everyone enjoyed blue curacao so Viv was truly curious.

And, if it was good, and after the other customers were helped, perhaps Viv could get some time to just chat with him. Alex too, of course. They were both at the bar. You could not exclude one guest just because you wanted to speak with just one of them. Then, the last blip of the conversation appeared up in her mind again. Did Clyde want to get a chance to speak with her more than just sitting at the bar? Viv did realize she was pretty busy when he came in. Not the first night, but all the other nights she was running around and never had a chance for her own time. Nor to go and switch up the music. She truly hoped maybe, just maybe, she could get a chance tonight.

A pause. Alex awaited anything resembling a reply from Clyde, but of course.. none came. He acknowledged Vivian's joke with a bit of laughter and another fiver.
Keep that one as tip, or at the very least some higher-quality doggie kibbles fer the two of them, eh?
Just like everyone to counter his talking-too-much with their talking-too-little. After a small sneer and a shake of the head at nothing in specific, Alex chugged down the rest of his milkshake, wiped his mouth off with the napkin, and gave Vivian a tip of the imaginary hat.
I shall temporarily bid you adieu, m'lady.. to challenge myself yet again. I'll be checkin' out the other rainbow, if y'don't mind.
After giving Clyde an identical tip and a "Good man", Alex then went off and seated himself in one of the egg-shaped chairs, proceeding then to observe the dance floor.
Assuming his farewells were heard, of course, they may have been appreciated.

Come to think of it, that's probably the only thing noone tunes out for..
A shake of the head and another sneer. Despite all his efforts to stay inconspicuous (A man dressed entirely in black hiding in a white egg-seat and staring at the dance floor had a hard time in this), he was asked to dance on occasion. With an occasional meek chuckle and a gentlemanly declination, he had finally found time to gaze into the throng of dancers and contemplate the infinite some more.
It seems the only rainbow he was going to taste was going to be Vivian's Choice. Everything else was just a nondescript orgy of color..
A shake of the head and a sigh. He still had to come to terms with the music. He was hoping he wouldn't be a while with this one, but it was going to end up being either a long war or a longer battle.

After a glance at his wrist and a "tsk", Alex got out of his seat.
It was late o'clock- time to mingle with the gods and tend to other divine matters. But first, Alex had to stop by the bar area and test something out.
With a stern look on his face, as if addressing one of his daughters with scorn, Alex made his way straight up to Vivian and cleared his throat.
My good lady Vivian, I implore you to consider letting me and my daughters run the music once in a while. We are exceptionally skilled players, and even if I play only a few songs, it would mean the world to me. I am trying to tolerate what goes on beyond these doors in terms of music, and I mean you no offense in choice of music..
But Elizabeth, along with a few of my daughters, can bring the rock a hearty sum on occasion.
And as much as I would love to discuss this further, I have to depart for now. I pray you give me more time to plead my case at a later date, however..

With a curt nod, Alex turned and walked into a Rift that seemed to be waiting for him as he had his monologue at the owner of the bar.

(Didn't feel like making another post for this..)

(It's a school night.. ;-;
Dammit, why do things kick up only so late?
I'll try and be on earlier tomorrow, and I already made my leavin' post in an edit. Looks like I ended up making another one after all, though. x_x But yeah! Catch you guys later. )
Tied up?..Lucky bastards.. Clyde couldn't help but smirk at Viv's statement of Benn and Jerry. Though tieing Clyde up wouldn't be as successful. He could escape anything. But for her, if she so wished it, he would behave. Or at least he would try to. He was the type of guy that had to try really hard to slow himself down when started. But he tried his best not to let that show. Crimson eyes would shift down to the drink that she slid to him as Viv briefly described the new hire. However he still couldn't place a face to the description, but he would nod. "Ah..I see. Well I'm glad that you got some extra help. That gives you more time to enjoy your job.." Lips turned into a smile as he lifted the glass to take a sip, not bothering to stir it. It was all going to the same place, mixed or not. Though the taste was a bit different, something new about this drink that perhaps had to do with the blue color.

"It's not bad..But..what other kind of Screws do you got?" He chuckled lightly at his joke, the smile morphing into a smirk. Phew that was close.. Alex totally killed his game. But Clyde felt bad about his lack of response. He didn't mean to dodge his conversation, it was just that Alex's words threw him off. Clyde was partially worried that Viv heard the conversation, and he honestly didn't know exactly what to say. But it was then that Alex shared a few more words and then slipped away to the dance floor, crimson eyes following his form as he moved to sit in a white egg-like chair. Spinning in the stool with drink in head, Clyde would shake his hand and yell out to Alex. "Sorry pal, no need to split. You caught me off guard man. Don't leave me here with Viv.." His gaze swiftly peeked to her from the corners of his eyes. "..She might bite me.." Hands lifted to toy with the collar of his button up shirt, a soft laugh rolling over her lips as he jested. Hopefully she wouldn't take offence.

Clyde raised his drink in attempt to truce with Alex, feeling bad for not responding while the conversation was present. "I'll bake you some cup cakes to go with those milkshakes if you do.." He cringed inwardly. Oh how manly he sounded. God damnit.. Realy smooth. Not everyone thinks of men in the kitchen as sexy. Besides, he teeth weren't your typical sweet tooth...Were they? But damn, it was too late. Alex would happen to dive into his rift and vanish from sight, he having a similar exit strategy as Clyde. Oh well..I'll make them anyway.. He made a mental shopping list and turned his attention back to Viv..who was now alone with him

Hunter hurried down the street towards the nightclub, her upswept hair not moving by means of massive amounts of hair gel. She hadn't had time to shower before getting ready for her job that night as her roommate hogged the bathroom. Again. Hopefully Vivian wouldn't be too upset with her new employee if she got there late. Well, VERY late after Hunter checked her cell phone for the fifth time since leaving her apartment. "Oh man, oh man, please don't be mad." Hunter whispered and straightened her glasses that matched her cardigan as she half walked, half jogged down the sidewalk. She nearly tripped over the various cracks in the sidewalk, causing the drunk pedestrians to burst out in peels of laughter. Hunter's face grew red as she pushed her way past them. Apparently there was a line to get into the night club, which in Hunter's mind meant that Vivian was working. "Crap..." She muttered under her breath and pushed past the first person in line to enter the establishment. "Hey!" She heard the petit girl she passed squeak in horror. "Sorry, I work here." Hunter responded in a short, clipped answer. Like she really needed to answer to a little Chihuahua of a girl. She probably couldn't even hold her own liquor.

As Hunter entered the club she saw that it was even more crowded than the entrance had implied. It took Hunter a moment to drink in the lights, dancing, and boys to start making her way to the bar. She smiled at a few people that she recognized from nights before and walked slowly to her work area. Upon her arrival she saw the owner and her boss, Vivian. Hoping that she wouldn't notice the time, Hunter smiled at her and the man she was talking with as she went behind the bar area. She barely had time to put away her purse and things before bodies stumbled up to her area and asked for drinks. "Yes, yes in one second." She said with a smile and took a deep breath before making the first cocktail. She poured vodka, triple sec, rum, pineapple and cranberry juice in a shaker and did a little performance. Hunter flashed a grin at the audience as she flipped the shaker in the air and had it land perfectly on the back of her hand. She didn't have enough time to do these little things, Hunter noticed for tonight would be rather busy. Hunter poured the drink over ice and lemon juice and handed it to the man who ordered it. The man in response handed her a twenty, with a number written on it. Hunter politely nodded and went back to making other cocktails.

It definitely will give Viv more time to enjoy her job. As far as she could tell, Hunter was great. She kept the place mildly clean the night before and she seemed to have made it out with a good deal of tips for herself and also made a hell of a lot of sales for Viv. If they kept this up, they could probably cut down on milkshake prices. "Yes, she is probably going to be a great new addition. Perhaps you will meet her tonight, if she makes it in," Viv explained to Clyde. As she picked up a few placed bottles and glasses, her eyes followed Alex as he moved away, after she caught Clyde's comment on asking her if she had any other types of screws. Those darkened orbs caught Clyde's fox-like smile and she couldn't help but laugh. Viv leaned forward, letting her lips become very close to his ear so that he could hear her. "I have many other screws, but you'll just have to wait and see," she whispered, leaning back enough so he could catch the wink and then hear the rich laughter as she leaned away and glanced back towards Alex as Clyde did. She hadn't meant to try and scare him off, and Clyde seemed to be thinking the same thing. He called over to him, asking Alex to not leave him there alone with Viv for she might, bite him?

Viv felt her smile twitch as she turned her gaze towards Clyde. She widened the smile, showing her teeth and even parting them from being clenched together so she could run her tongue along the sharpened fangs. She felt her tongue want to shrink away but, those sharp points just needed to be grazed and she wondered just how much Clyde would mind if she took a little n** at him. Not for blood, but for pleasure. Some people truly enjoyed being bitten. It was a strange fetish, but for a vampire it was a blessing and a curse. If you wanted to be bitten, you had to understand that sometimes... a thirsty vampire just can't stop themselves. Viv quickly hid her little act when Alex returned, listening to him try and explain that he wanted to DJ. Him, and his... daughters? Viv blinked, completely confused. Alex didn't seem the type to have daughters. Then again, Alex just never seemed the type at all for anything. He was an odd but wonderful man. Viv nodded to him, knowing that he had more to say and allowing herself to keep quiet on that subject until he finished off his explanation. No need to tell him no when he might actually prove to be good.

Viv finally was able to get a chance then to speak with Clyde alone. She had heard him talk about baking Alex cupcakes and that brought a little smile to her face. One that told him she was obviously going to tease him. "Cupcakes, huh? You like to bake or are you just trying to be a sweetie and win my heart over with abilities you don't have?" Viv teased, giving a little chuckle as she wiped up the counter a bit. Viv loved conversation, but if Hunter would show up, Viv would love to go out on the dance floor and dance with Clyde. That is, if he invited her out there. As her mind was caught up in other things, she noticed that the crowd of drunk people who had been pining for her attention, began to trickle towards the other side of the bar. Someone was there, and as Viv turned, she saw it was Hunter. A smile graced her lips as she gently told Clyde she would be right back. "Hunter!" Viv called out, moving towards the flustered girl. Sure, she hadn't been there right away but hell, Viv wasn't going to hold that against her. VIv had been just fine taking all of the customers earlier. "Glad to see you made it, didn't get felt up trying to get in here, did you?" the tanned vamp asked jokingly, picking up a couple liquors and creating another mixed drink followed by a few tap beers for a lady and gentleman.
Again, speaking of the Devil, the new girl would stroll in, making her way through the crowd and approach the bar. Crimson eyes met with her purple figure, a small grin and nod expressing his understanding for who she was now that he could see her. She was cute, a perfect fit to work along side Viv, and it seemed the customers seemed to think the same. Taking another sip of his drink, he watched as the swarm of drunkards seemed to line up in front of the girl, he now wondering what her name was, though the sudden closeness of Viv's lips to his ear stopped his train of though. Crimson eyes fell shut as she spoke low in his ear, the soft hum of her voice enchanting him, he wishing that the moment lasted much longer than it did.

But it was best left at that. There wouldn't be too much waiting to see if she didn't. Shifting on the stool, eyes reopened to focus on the smile that she gave, her pink tongue then sliding along the length of her sharpened fangs, his gaze moving in sync with her tongue. It was alluring in a strange way. Somewhere it was a turn on, but then again it was a bit frightening to see such long sharp teeth. Men tended to think of one thing whenever they saw the tongue of a female, but when paired with sharp teeth, well, let's not go there. He laughed softly to himself and shook his head as Viv teased him, the next few words coming out of her mouth causing him to scoff and roll his eyes. "Oh I should've known you'd ******** with me about that.." He set down the glass and leaned away from the bar slightly, his head shaking again.

"I bake because it's my job Viv. Don't get it twisted." A hand managed to lift and stroll through his hair once again, raven bangs shifting against his forehead but would drop down in front of his deep shaded gaze once again. "..And I don't need cupcakes to win you over. But if you wanted some..I'm not opposed to hand feeding.." He shrugged lightly as if it were nothing, the same hand that toyed with his hair finding the glass once more, lifting it to finish the rest of his drink. With the last few gulps down his throat, Viv would slip away and call out to the new girl, Hunter. He smiled as Viv approached the girl, Clyde then sliding the empty glass opposite of him across the bar and waved to the new girl. "Hey Hunter. The purple looks good on you.."

Hunter was glad to see that people were starting to filter they way out of Vivian's area and started to order their drinks from her. Not that she wanted to make more money in tips, no that wasn't it at all. It was just Hunter figured it must be hell, figuratively of course, to try and run a club as well as bartend for thirsty customers. Not to mention have to handle some of the behind the scenes things. Hopefully just by having Hunter there the work load would lighten for Viv a bit so that she could rest. Maybe with that cute guy over there... Hunter stopped her work for a moment and checked out the guy that Vivian was talking to in between making drinks. He seemed pretty cute. Nice body, beautiful skin, flowing hair, and that face! Mmm. Hunter wouldn't mind taking a piece of that home. But she could tell by V's body language that the man was all hers. And that was fine. It wasn't like she was going to dive across the bar and demand the man be the father of her children. She had done that once and it came with horrible consequences.

The girl shook her head with a smile and turned back to make drinks. There weren't too many complicated orders. Apparently the big thing to be drinking that night was gin and ginger ale, one of Hunter's favorite. It was simple, yet classy. And with a lemon wedge, simply divine. It was like having a black and white movie stuffed in a glass. As Hunter was pouring a big group of guys some Miller Light (Ugh.... American beers have no originality...), Hunter felt a presence beside her. The girl looked over to see that her boss had moved over a few feet and was working next to her. "Well, I'm not going to be pregnant tomorrow if that's what you mean. At least I don't think I won't. Some of those guys out there are like ninjas." Hunter laughed at her own stupid joke and passed the guys some beer. The frat group oggled her and whistled, and Hunter winked in response which resulted in a crude shout of 'TAKE IT OFF'. Oh how she was glad she knew how to let things go.

"So who is that guy over there?" Hunter asked and looked at Vivian over her glasses. She looked at the man and the back at Vivian before turning back to the crowd who were practically throwing money over heads in hopes to get their drinks first. Hunter rushed over to get clean glasses and fixed a bachelorette party a couple of Cosmos. The signature pink drink was practically a mascot for those parties. "He seems cute, why don't you ask him do dance?" She inquired and nodded to the dance floor. It was even more crowded than the area around the bar was, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Hunter's head snapped up when she realized the man said her name and waved at her. Oops... Hope he didn't hear. She thought and smiled back before facing the crowd once again.

Hunter watched Vivian's face as she talked about Clyde and smiled when she saw her boss' face glow. She was almost happy when she saw Viv take the initiative and invited him to dance. Almost because that meant that Hunter would be alone at the bar. It was fine the night before because it was only her, Alex, and a few other people, but now there was a small crowd. Sure, it had dwindled, but Hunter was still nervous about helping them. She took a deep breath and calmed her body down, her dark eyes closing and focusing on the darkness for a bit. A little escape from the chaos around her. Hunter opened her eyes and went back to work, serving all the people around her.

Soon enough, there was a little brake of work and Hunter took this time to start cleaning the pile of glasses that had resulted from the night. Every so often she would have to turn around and pour a tap for a few people put in a couple of minutes Hunter had a pile of freshly clean glasses for tomorrow night. It would be a waste of money to keep using the plastic cups they had on hand. A few boys stationed themselves at the bar and smirked as Hunter walked, whispering among themselves. She could pick out a few crude words and huffed a bit before turning to them, "Either you can buy drinks or you can dance." She snapped. The boys laughed nervously and ordered a round of beers which Hunter tapped and handed them. She received a $100 dollar bill and was told to keep the change. Sometimes tolerating these butt holes had its perks.
