Now that he knew he wasn't going to be asked, he had to think about it. The forbidden reason! He had to find it out now. Alex's face looked somewhat stern and fell into a small trance, temporarily lost in thought.
Something tells me it was the doing of one of my daughters.. probably Evangeline, she's very mischievous. Especially mischievous enough to stick me to a wall and make me fall a fair amount of feet.
Alex pointed up to the ceiling of the bar area, then to the floor.
..Yeah. Sizable drop, now that I think about it.
Then a shake of the head and a dismissal of the thoughts. He'd punish her, but that girl likes everything he does.
Another shake of the head. Damn it all.
A baker? Unexpected. But yes, rather dull. How's the job security for a baker, though? While everyone enjoys a cook of any kind, a cook with a job is all the more impressive.
Clearly he was currently employed.. but you never know. Maybe some rival baking company would roll in and steal all the customers. Wall-bake or what-have-you.
Alex yawned softly as he pulled out a five dollar bill and played around with it, waiting for someone to pluck it from his hands and make delicious magic happen.
What caught him more off guard about Clyde was his sudden loss of panache as he contemplated his advances towards Vivian.
Er.. What? Out of your league. That's a first, and all this sudden.. wimpiness.. seems out-of-character for you. On par with my blessing in value, my advice is this; She seems to have little interest in any other guy-- and given the archetypes of brute, trickster, and charismatic figure, I can't blame her -- so just get close to her in the way that you feel as best. Being a worker doesn't mean you spend more time with her, especially considering you're here all the time to begin with.
Also, the only other jobs are DJ and Bouncer, so you'd actually be spending less time with her. While she'd appreciate help, I'm sure she'd also appreciate company. Just.. come in early and help her clean up, eh?
After a pause, Alex smirked ever-so-slightly and shook his head slowly.
Makin' me think, eh? No good comes of that, Clyde.
To Adrenaline!
Alex swigged the new milkshake, which he felt was fair grounds. He made no request and got Vivian's Choice.
Oh. Oh. Oh-ho-ho. This wasn't the best, certainly not Hunter's little bits of ingenuity.. but a small round of applause and a salute accompanied this new flavor, regardless.
Not at all a bad one, V!
Admittedly he hated surprises, the ultimate in irony, but the gesture was kind and the flavor was good.
Is this why the price is so high? Ya got a Ben 'n' Jerry's holed up back there?
Alex laughed and drank his milkshake some more. It all made sense now!
