Welcome to Gaia! ::

Idhril nodded her head seriously, taking it upon herself to answer for her brother. "We have to play quiet, so Mama doesn't get tired," she told Lore. "Because when we're all loud, Mama gets tired and then we can't play anymore."

Silvrendir nodded agreement, but this time said nothing.

Elnara felt her face warming. It didn't happen often that the children were too loud for her, but once in a while it did happen ... and was she really as grumpy as Idhril was making her sound then?
Lore laughed at that, because he was sure Idhril didn't mean it in that way. Though he had to admit, six kids and now seven was a bit.. .much.

"I see, well it does take a toll on the ears," he nodded in understanding.
"Especially after a day at school," Elnara murmured. "Some of the students ... well, let's just say it can be quite hectic sometimes."

Silvrendir drank his tea down quietly, looking intently from Lore to Elnara and back. He hadn't seen this school place yet, and according to Idhril he wouldn't for a while. He sort of wanted to, though, because he had been told that his Mama went there quite often.
"I take it, it has become very busy there?" Lore inquired as he finally took a careful sip of his tea, since his was probably still a bit hot.

Then again they were getting into that time of year where people were becoming very busy with school.

"Then again, it is that time again in the school year," he murmured.
"I suppose it depends on what you mean by 'that time of year'," Elnara replied thoughtfully. "I mean ... I really don't know. Last year I was a student, and a latecomer at that, but before that I had never been to a school of any sort before. Mother and Papa taught me when I was young, and then when I was older and lived at the castle, I had a tutor ... and I left shortly after and never completed my formal education. Though I suppose I got an education of a different sort," she mused, fingering her teacup.

"Serenity says there's a boy at school that picks on people," Idhril piped up, "and Celebor says he doesn't pick on people."

She paused thoughtfully, then asked Lore, "What does it mean, to pick on people?"
Lore thought about, "It means that a person is bothering another to the point where it is makes the person distressed," he hoped the last word was not a bad choice of words.

Sometimes he had to learn how to make his explainations easier, he thought to himself. Turning back to Elnara, he nodded a bit understanding.

"The schools tend to learn things in terms, by this month in the solar canlender the students are in the middle of essays, tests and whatever other thing they're working on to hand in for marks. It's also the time of year they start going to the library more," he murmured.
"That would actually explain a few things," Elnara nodded thoughtfully, finishing her tea and setting her cup back onto the tray. "And speaking of which ... Serenity and Celebor do have school tomorrow, so I should probably be heading back to the inn for tonight anyways ..."

Her eyes lit up. "Ah! Triton said he was going to see about getting a portal put in here, from the cafe to the inn - if he does, we won't have to sleep at the inn anymore, we can sleep here and not have to worry about the long walks in the morning! Or ... no, that's best left for another time."

She reached out and took Lore's hand in her own. "Perhaps I should ask him to get that done as soon as possible, hm? That way we wouldn't always be running out on you." She laughed softly.
Lore chuckled as he took her hand, "That would be nice," he murmured, "It would be nice to spend more time with all of you without work and the like interferring."

Especially since work was picking up again, it would be nice for him to be able to see them more often.
"And I wouldn't worry so much about the children when they're not here with me," Elnara smiled. She rose, holding Idhril in one arm, and reached for Silvrendir as well.

"At any rate, I should get back and make sure they're in bed," she murmured reluctantly. "And I'll talk to Triton and Yue and Yukito about that portal."
"Okay," Lore set down his cup as he picked Silvrendir up to give to her, "I shall see you again then."

He smiled at her, though he wished she didn't have to leave.
Elnara took Silvrendir from Lore carefully, then leaned forward and kissed Lore in the middle of his forehead, letting it linger a moment.

"Very soon," she promised him softly; and then she left the cafe, locking the door behind her so that Lore would not be bothered.

:The Cafe is Closed:
Along a concrete-sidewalked street lined with shops of all sorts lies a small cafe. The golden letters reading Angel Cafe are painted across the glass display window, and the shabby look of the outside belies its beautiful interior. A large dining room, filled with tables, has a counter along one side - the bar. At the end of the bar is a fountain which, until recently, was dry; but now it flows as if it always had been. The light reaches everywhere, there are no corners for shy people to hide in. At the back, three couches surround a fireplace, inviting the weary to come and rest for a while. Two doors and a staircase mystify customers, for whom entry is forbidden.

:The Cafe is Open:

It had been a cold autumn day. A brisk wind swept the brightly coloured leaves around the sidewalks, and every once in a while there was a short burst of rain. But inside the cafe, it was nice and cozy, warmed by a roaring fire in the fireplace.

Elnara was there, along with three children: Celebor, Idhril, and a red-haired angel a little taller than Idhril. His eyes were a bright green, his wings a silvery white, and his clothes, in contrast, were dull neutral colours. The four of them were sitting around a table, looking at a picture book, and each of them had a glass of juice.

She smiled lightly as she walked toward. It opening the door with its oh so familiar cling. She smiled as she walked in and waved "Hey! How are you guys!"
Elnara looked up and smiled, waving in reply. "Hello, Kakko! We're fine, how are you?" She pushed out another chair with her foot, silently inviting her friend to sit with them.

Celebor grinned and waved as well, but the other two children stared in silence.
