His expression had been otherwise stoic right up until Aeris hissed that name he could hardly stand. "Hephaestus"... It sounded like a dirty word to him after all these years. He had gone down in history with a less than sterling reputation as the "ugly god" who had been granted pity and given the hand of the most gorgeous woman alive to marry.... only for her to turn around and betray him again...and again...and again. But he'd gotten his own vengeance in his own way, exposing his pretty little wife for all her lies and infidelity. It was really no wonder that relationship didn't work out so well.... and even less of a wonder why Aiden only wanted to put all that behind him and start his life over as just Aiden the Mechanic who was really good at fixing sh*t.

He sneered at Aeris to show his distaste for that old name as he opened his toolbox and dug around in it to try to find what he needed to get started. He must have been a tad distracted because he hadn't heard the second set of approaching steps until they were practically right on top of him. Steel silver eyes glanced up...and then down again to see the chillingly familiar white wisps of hair belonging to Harper... or, as she was once called, "Hel, Goddess of Helheim", the Norse underworld. There was only one or two other deities that bore similar titles and gave Aiden similar chills...the foremost in his mind being Hades himself. Aiden tried not to make eye contact as he closed his toolbox and took it off the counter again, taking shuffling steps over towards the music console to take a look at what the damage seemed to be. It didn't take him long to find the source of the problem - a loose wire causing the whole system to shut down spontaneously. "Yeah? Well, forgive me if I ain't got any trust to give you, Aeris, no matter how many times you go and cross your heart."
he spoke to the two women over her shoulder as he stooped down slightly to get a better look at the damaged wires. "I see what your problem is, here. You got cr*ppy wires. It's makin' the whole d*mn thing screwy." he grumbled, giving a nod as he straightened up to his full height again. "I can get her fixed in... fifteen minutes or so?" he advised. Truthfully, he could probably do it in less than ten but the last thing he wanted was for two uppity women to be breathing down his neck that whole time.

The setting sun made Kora's wavy red locks shimmer softly as she made her way to The Pantheon Lounge. The small no name town was small enough that you could easily get just about anywhere by foot. Most of her time was spent wandering around the meadows and woods nearby. As nighttime neared, she would head to The Pantheon. There was generally enough people their that she could blend in and hide from him if she so desired. Which she generally did, of course. Hades wasn't exactly her favorite person.

Slipping through the front door, her heels would click quietly against the floor as she made her way inside. It was still somewhat early, so it wasn't to surprising to see the place mostly empty. Her blue-grey gaze paused upon the trio. Harper and Aeris, of course. They could frequently be found together. Aiden was a bit of a surprise though since he usually wasn't like the rest of them, wasting time at The Pantheon. As she watched further, it was clear he was here for nothing more than a job. Aeris must of broke the music booth somehow. She was often breaking things.

They were better company than none or him for that matter. Biting back a sigh, Kora would smooth the fabric of her sapphire blue dress. The hem reached her mid thigh and the back was low cut, shimmering chain straps meeting in between her shoulder blades before drifting down her back to connect to her dress. With that she would move towards the trio at the bar. Even with her heels, she was still shorter than all of them. "Evening Aeris, Harper, Aiden ..." She would say lightly, an eyebrow arching as she smiled in amusement. "Break something again, did we?" She would ask as she watched Aiden begin to work his magic on the music booth.

Aiden had already begun tinkering with the sound system when he heard the heavy doors of the Narthex open and the sound of footsteps echo across the stone floor leading into the room. Screwdriver in hand, he arched a scarred brow and glanced over his shoulder to see who was joining their little party when he spotted a glimpse of hair as red and passionate as fire that he recognized as belonging to none other than the fair and lovely Persephone. He said nothing as he watched the graceful young woman enter the room and greet each of the members sitting in the otherwise empty room. He didn't provide a verbal response but offered a subtle nod of recognition to her greeting, not wanting to be rude but too self conscious and awkward to strike up a full-blown conversation. He couldn't help but smile a bit when she asked, like everyone else, if Aeris had been responsible for breaking the sound system. It was beginning to become quite the running joke... but his amusement was somewhat concealed as he turned his face away, not wanting Persephone to have to gaze upon his marred features.

While he had admittedly only ever had sparse interactions with the goddess of beginnings and ends - of life and death - he had always imagined they were quite similar in some aspects... Both had been bound to marriages that they were less than thrilled to be a part of and both seemed to be more confident and content when simply left to their own devices. While his area of expertise was machinery and Persephone's was nature (two elements which often conflicted), he shared the understanding of how gratifying it was to create and imagined she must be able to empathize with that...even if just a bit.

Aiden cleared his throat as he continued to tune up the machine before him - taking a bit of copper wiring out of his tool box and some electrical tape to patch the fraying in the wires that he'd mentioned. He made quick work of stripping the damaged wires, adding the connecting wiring and re-taping the new addition. Once it was done, he returned his tools to his kit and replaced the outer panel of the machine, brushing his hands off on his oil-smudged jeans before rising back up to his full height. "What'd I tell ya? Fifteen minutes... Is that gonna be all?"
he asked, glancing towards Aeris with an expression that practically begged for her to simply let him leave without much of a fuss..... but that would be too easy for the tricky goddess of chaos. She surely had something else up her sleeve that would prevent him from leaving for the next few hours at least.

Aeris was not at all shocked to hear that Aiden, the mechanic, didn't trust her as far as he could throw her. Very few people that Aeris had ever met did. It was true that the goddess of chaos, discord and corruption wasn't known for having a sterling reputation of honor and trustworthiness. She was infamous for her sneaky tricks and curses disguised as blessings - more aligned with the Norse trickster god, Loki. Still it wasn't as if she needed to be reminded of this - much less by Hephaestus of all people who had been known to exact his own sense of ironic justice from time to time. Aeris simply wrinkled her nose and stuck her tongue out at the gentle, wrench wielding giant, who promptly ignored the insulting gesture. She was just about to turn her attention back to to the more welcoming graces of Harper when she heard the sound of the lounge doors swinging open and turned to see who it was who had come to humble the little lounge with their presence.

The fiery spark of ember red hair was a quick give-away to the new comer's identity... Persephone - goddess of seasons and cycles of live and death; birth and decay. Aeris watched as the pretty young woman entered and almost immediately questioned the sound system Aiden was working on.... Aeris chose to ignore the question with a passive aggressive sigh, propping her elbow on the bar top and resting her chin in the palm of her hand. "Well, if it isn't my favorite little run-away..."
she cooed with a smirk slowly spreading across her dark red lips. "You're earlier than usual tonight. Trying to get a head start before your dearly beloved comes looking?" she questioned curiously, eyes practically sparkling with mischievous wonder. Persephone... or rather, Kora, was a perplexing one that Aeris had yet to figure out but despite how the woman played hard to get...there had to be some part of her that fell for the tall, dark and handsome type. There had to be some guilty pleasure to all that springtime innocence she tried to portray - a shadow of darkness to that effervescent light.

Another new location… a new location meant a new set of humans to “stumble” upon their lounge, though most who came looking for help sought the reincarnated goddess of love, or some other deity that could grant them extraordinary powers. Thankfully, Derek rarely had to deal with that, as some of his fellow gods and goddesses had built up a reputation for being particularly… generous with their blessings, so he could usually relax and just enjoy a night out at the lounge. Who knows, perhaps they would even find a reincarnation of one of their departed companions. There were quite a few of them that hadn't resurfaced in a while…but for the time being, the lounge didn't look too terribly busy. Lingering in the treeline nearby, Derek had been silently observing the few patrons and fellow deities that had already started to gather behind those massive double doors. He could already tell just by watching Aidan reluctantly haul his toolbox into the club that something wasn't running as smoothly as expected, but that couldn't be helped. The entire place was enchanted, but that didn't mean that it didn't need some TLC every now and then. Extinguishing the smoldering end of his cigarette underneath his boot, Derek pursed his lips and let out a single, quick whistle, straightening up from where he had been leaning back against a tree to start to make his way toward the lounge in search of a drink. For the longest time, his footfalls against the pavement were the only sounds to break the silence, but as he was about halfway to the entrance, the sounds of shuffling leaves joined the chorus to announce the presence of a slender greyhound that bounded exuberantly from the foliage. ”There you are. I'm gonna head inside, don't wander too far.”
Derek spoke softly to his beloved companion, reaching down to pat the dark charcoal beast on the head. Delos-- named for the city of Artemis’ birth-- was Derek’s loyal hound, expertly trained to accompany him on his hunts, although most of the others knew him as the friendly and rambunctious shop dog from the armory down the way. While most dog owners would feel uncertain sending their pets off into the forest with the darkness of night already creeping up on them, but Derek had full faith in his greyhound. Delos was a ruthless hunting dog, as unusual as that may seem since he was always exceedingly well behaved around anyone. His companion often loved to wander the woods with him after a relocation, mapping out their new home and finding resources for the village, and tonight was no different. Derek had no doubts that when he met up with his pet at the end of the night, that the hound would have more of their new surroundings explored. Pushing past the doors to the lounge and emerging into the narthex, Derek reached up to smooth a few errant strands of dark wavy hair from his face. There was a small gathering of deities over by the bar, but Derek wasn't ready to interact with them quite yet. He simply offered a silent nod to any who turned in his direction, making a beeline for the massive archway set at the back of the room. The narthex was great to hang out in, and to greet the newcomers, but Derek often preferred a drink with a little more kick, and all drinks at the narthex bar were strictly non-alcoholic. After knocking back a quick shot and ordering a mixed drink to take with him to the other room, Derek finally pulled down the zipper on his jacket, letting the hunter green leather hang open over his torso and expose the sharpened broadhead he kept on a chain around his neck. It may seem like nothing more than a trinket of a past hunt, but the small piece of metal was still more than deadly in his hands. Offering the bartender his thanks, Derek wrapped his fingers around his drink and headed back through the stone archway, sterling silver gaze moving from one occupant to the next as if he was stalking them all as prey; purely out of habit, though it was part of the reason he had such a mixed reputation around here.

Kora would let her gaze drift toward Aiden, using the facade of him fixing the music booth as an excuse to observe him for a moment. The Forge god intrigued her. Mysterious and handsome, Kora couldn't help but believe they had at least one or two things in common. He had been tossed into an equally unwelcome marriage and they both had the love of creating. Metal and nature certainly conflicted, but Kora still couldn't help but be curious about him. She noted his nod of acknowledgement before he quickly turned back to his work. He was often quite and self conscious about his scars. Unlike most, she liked them, curious about them even.

Her attention soon returned to Aeris. Kora would inwardly twitch at the mention of Hades, but she was careful as to not let it show to the Goddess of Chaos. She fed of such things. "I don't know what you're talking about. I was bored, figured I would swing this way and see who was around ..." She would muse with a faint shrug of her shoulders, playing it off as if it was not that big of a deal. Inside, a knot was forming in her gut. She was hoping beyond hoping that her luck was still good. Kora had quite the track record for avoiding the man. Hopefully that streak wouldn't end quite yet.

Her gaze would soon dance back to Aiden, now that he was done. He was practically begging to leave. She understood, he was about as much of a crowd and people person as she was. Though, a small piece of her couldn't help but hope that he would say for just a bit longer. The doors opening again quickly caught her attention. Casually glancing that way, Kora would watch as Derek drifted in. Thank the gods. She would look back to the others as Derek would disappear to the other room long enough to grab a drink and come back. As he drifted back into the room, Kora would give him a light nod of recognition before looking back to the others. She was going to be needing a stronger drink soon.
