↝ Stepping past the slowly opening doors of the elevator, Harper’s lips curled into a faint smirk as the familiar blue and purple ambiance of the lounge washed over her. The mezzanine was always a welcome sight after a long day, signaling the start of another evening watching the newcomers and others who might be just now discovering their divine powers. It was almost like a game to her-- to sort through those who passed through the archway to see if they were simple humans seeking gifts, or perhaps more like them, purely seeking answers and like-minded individuals. Harper’s heels clicked softly against the lighted floor as she made her way across the room toward the vestibule, a slight huff passing her lips as she found that chamber once again, abandoned. Empty?!? Oh well… it was fairly early still… there would be plenty of time to scrutinize the newbies later on. But in the meantime, Harper was going to start on her buzz; something easier said than done due to her rapid metabolism. Of all the bars in the lounge, the vestibule bar was by far Harper’s favorite. The ethereal teal glow and intricate metalwork running the length of the counter only served to add to the ambiance of the room and cast an unearthly vibe through the entire chamber. With no patrons around just yet, the bartenders were busy preparing garnishes and checking inventory before the rush arrived, which made it rather easy for her to get the attention of one of the employees and request a drink without having to speak a word. Harper turned her attention elsewhere as the young man set to work crafting a cocktail for her, but a familiar high pitched voice peaked over the music from the previous room and caused Harper to turn her golden gaze over her shoulder toward the narthex. “Make it two, yeah?” Harper added, catching the bartender’s gaze. The lounge might be mostly deserted at this hour, but a good time was always had when Aeris was involved. Plus, she and Aeris could scope out the newbies together and make sarcastic comments about them behind their backs, as always. Harper readjusted the lower hem of her dress, pulling it down a little so that the strips of softened leather at her bodice laid properly over her sternum before reaching out to take a swirling cocktail in each hand. Throwing a wink over her shoulder at the friendly bartender who’d whipped up the drinks, Harper made her way through the large stone archway into the narthex.
With no patrons around, it was easy to spot the slender woman by the bar-- Oh, Aiden was here too… she should have brought him a drink as well, but she assumed that, as always, Aeris had lured him here under the guise of free alcohol, so there would be no shortage of drinks for the man once he had accomplished whatever task Aeris had summoned him for. “Aeris, my love~ what did you do now?” Harper teased, leaning against the bar as she watched Aidan dig around in his massive toolbox for a moment. Catching the other woman’s attention, she handed her the second cocktail with a sly grin, knowing that Aeris was never one to turn down a free drink. Besides, tonight was one of the most important nights of the year, she knew that her friend would want to be just as intoxicated as some of the humans that stumbled upon this ethereal establishment.↜
