NASA Has Designed a Futuristic Warp Drive Ship Right Out of 'Star Trek'

i been wondering about the whole " space buble " thing..... I mean how far from the planet would the ship have to be in order to activate the warp drive? Because in the visualization they use as a sample you can see "space" being "warped" . What would happend if such a warp was created near a planet??

Dad put the diploma in its frame. It's not hung up yet. We're going to have to move some of my certificates just to make space. I have over one and a half walls dedicated to my certificates plus a few pictures from school activities and a few work articles with me in it.
