I would argue that, because Akira raced snow, and he made it look totally easy. I'll be up there tomorrow this time for sure. I got to get my FD leveled up!

If you're arguing against the SE3P being not-so-great in the snow...just check the ID V3 rankings. SE3P isn't near the top. In fact, the Trueno even beats it out. 4WD rules the snow. Besides, Akira's a strong player. Snow ain't easy, especially if you don't have 4WD. Leave it to the cars like the ST205, the R34, the GC8V, and the CN9A to dominate the snow.

Yeah I know, but then again what I saw was pure skill.

It just goes to show that its not the car that counts, but the driver.

Anybody can go get an RX-8 and drive it, how well depends on their ability.

But all in all, yeah I know, the RX-8 sucks in Snow lol

I know, I know, the focus in this version is more on the driver. 'Sides, SE3P is nothing like DC2 in Version 2. Unlike DC2, you've gotta work with the SE3P in order to learn how to pwn with it.

Ah well. I should be going to play sometime this week...soon.

Dude, I love my new FC, and my new Spirit R.

FC3S- White, Option A, Manual.
FD3S(Type R)- White, Normal Tune, Manual.

The FC feels so much better in ver.3 than in 2. It feels like I have more contrlol over the car than what I'm used too.

Shingo is an a**, he bumps the s**t out of you going off the starting line. Also he is hella fast, but I beat him.

Also, Maya and Simone are easier to battle than Shingo IMO.

BTW check out USA Central on Myogi. Akira stikes again! I also found out that it is NOT the same Akira that races DH Akagi.

Shingo gets that boost during the race...pulls right on you. But yeah, he shouldn't be too hard to defeat.

FC, I believe, is better than FD on Akagi DH, just for the record.

And your right about the SE3P not being like the ITR in Ver. 2. I took some punk that drives an SE (YES, I'll ABBREVIATE IT!!!!) to Akagi DH. He was alright until he come off the Right hand of d00m (the hairpin after the series of sharp turns, signifies the second half of the track) which I took beautifully in my FD. In the first hairpin in the second part of the track, I overtook and beat him by I think 100+m.

The reason I call him a punk is because he took some guy to Happo, and fished the whole damn track (isn't the SE weak at happo?) against one of the evo's.

SE3P ain't -that- bad on Happogahara...I've been doing some damage there, especially on the IB (one of my personal favorites). I've beaten Integras and Civics there...most of them were probably n00b, though.

Yes...you screwed over the SE3P n00b on Akagi DH. FD Type-R is ranked like...4th or 5th on Akagi DH, strangely, while SE3P is 2nd. Good job on that one!

Racings been good man, thx for asking. I helped a guy thats driving an RX-8 the other day on Usui. Told him to stop upshifting and brake more on those two corners.

BTW I need some info, I was wondering if any of ya'll could help me out.

How is the FC3S ranked against the SW20 on: Usui, Akagi, and Irohazaka.

I can't seem to find it (may need to check some websites again).

The reason i'm asking is because my little brother has an SW20 on Caine's option tune. My FC is on Ryosuke's option tune. I have more points than he does, but on Irohazaka, it was a close race all the way down the hill. We had the boost on, if that matters, and I think Caine still has a bonus on the Iro downhill doesn't he? I was just wondering.

BTW, I'm not on AIM ATM, I have to re-download it (lost it when I switched my ISP from 56K to DSL, w00t!) if anyone has a question that needs answering, I can sorta help (if you can't get ahold of Duralath and Ezeikial). PM me and I'll give you my MSN handle.

So, while I'm unable to post IR times...I figure I'll just tell you about my exploits last night while playing (this is Duralath, by the way...it's a new screenname).

I decided to put away the SE3P for the time being and focus on the CP9A Evo V (card name: CROW) for the night. And what a night it was. I'm actually getting used to the CP9A's driftiness. Won four battles last night and upped a battle level to 2 because of how I don't use the car that much. I also set a pretty damn good record with my Evo V on Irohazaka DH...3'07. This is all with a 60K Evo V.

The battles went like this...I took a 200K Evo III to Iro and won, but just barely, since I reversed in the middle yet overtook during the jumps. I took an Evo VI to Happogahara IB. He left Boost on but I still won. After that, I was taken to Akina Snow by the same Evo III from before. I pretty much won that one. After that, I got fished to Happogahara OB by a basic tuned EK9. I smoked him the entire way and won by about 100m.

It felt good to see my Evo V dominating. I'm probably the only one in the entire arcade that drives one. Or maybe, one other person.

It's just preparation for my Evo IV. Irohazaka remains my course of domination.

*sighs* you guys worry about cars too much. its the driver not the car that makes a difference. for example, today i raced my friend who has about 400k of points on his FD. i had about 24k on my Evo V. i raced him at Akagi, Snow Akina and Tsuguchisaka and i beat him everytime. my advice is stop worrying about the best car and work on your times. once you are good in one car, the game becomes so much easier in most others.

By the way, i have FINALLY beaten all the courses in V3, except for bunta, he does about 3:12 in V3, and for those of you who think you can beat that, i do 2:58 in V2, and in V3 i do about 3:13.

I'm sorry, but you seem to have missed a point. Cars still do matter in this version. It may not be as prevalent, as more focus has been put on the driver. But think about it. A semi-decent guy with an Evo IV is probably going to beat a guy with an RX-8 down Irohazaka. Some cars are just better suited for more courses.

And it's not that hard to beat the courses in Version 3. I've done it with a stock RX-8. And Bunta's not that hard during LOTS in Version 3.

By the way, 2'58 down Akina? With what car, might I ask?

Yeah, you can't race an AE85 against a GC8V on Myogi and expect the 85 to win.

That and the fact that I whipped an RX-8's a** on Akagi's DH in my FD Spirit shows enough sign that it doesn't mean the car, but the driver.

Yes the differance between ver.2 and 3 is more than the DC2 not being a "god" car anymore. It feels more balanced that way, a welcome change to people like me . . .

A ran a 3:00:XXX on Myogi today, in the N tune FD. The kicker? It only has like 18,000 points on it. My FC ran 2 seconds slower. So now I am on 2 and 3 place on the leaderboards. 5 seconds behind Akira, who has a fully tuned SE3P HAHAHAHAAHHA!!!!!

I pumped up about it. I'll be running TA's more next week.

Unfortunatly I am 2 wins/4 losses in the FC and 0 wins/ 1 loss in the FD. I'm getting better though, so I'll eventually beat those SE3P fishers. Its wierd, I won the majority of my races with boost on, but when boost was off, I was only loosing by 50-60m. Bastards were blocking like crazy though . . .
