Why were the results only from about 7,100 participants?
On a daily basis I see more than 12,000 users logged in, and now I see "18,053 Gaians Online"

Why wasn't the user pool larger?
I find this strange

This was the percentage of users that cared about taking the survey upon hearing about it and actually heard about it. Some click their notices off too quick, and considering how much people complete non-mandatory surveys irl... it sounds about right actually.

Thank you for sharing the results. I'm really bummed yellow ranked last, but I'm happy to see purple do SO well, same with green. It's also nice to see pink not rate as high as I expected.

Also that average ranking on people's experiences with Gaia is a little disappointing. Gaia's been going through some positive changes lately and I think it's very clear.

Dear gods, how many godsdamned years do I have to wait for the guilds to be pushed to modern forums systems?

The last update I remember that we had to guilds was to make the special emotes (cats, yummies, Gaia, emotions) available.
And that was AGES ago.

They found a major security risk in the coding that could potentially give people a back-door to everyone on this sites information. They said that they couldn't feel comfortable restoring it after that.

Seeing these results and how you've chosen to respond to them is a nice level of transparency that I think you needed as a company/site to start boosting user confidence again.

Thank you for sharing the results, and targeting the features you are. If you follow through on things like you are beginning to (this doesn't mean doing everything we say either), and reconnecting yourself with the opinions of the community, I think Gaia may make a very strong come back.

Hmm, 7,000 or so Gaians looks to be about 1/3 of the max that I see online.

Of the four features, I'm excited about three (my friends and I don't really chat, not even when the option was available 'cause of time zones).

I'll be most excited to see an update to Fishing.

Because the survey was in the Staff Alerts and people can turn those off. Was what....1 1/2 years ago give or take 6 months, they were using Staff Alerts for ad space. That made alot of people turn them off.

Hhmm..
So, we can take these results either two ways:

1) If more than 12,000 people took this survey, we would be seeing basically the same results but in higher percentages.

2) More fluctuation in the results, not being as clearly defined as it is now (such as avatar builder with such a high difference amongst other options).

Ah well..guess these results will have to do.
I'll be safe and say this represents a true Gaian population stance anyway.

Finally a new meebo. I don't know how this site survived without a true IM system.

I do hope the new avatar creator is faster than the current. It lags so badly for me and requires multiple clicks to get anything to show up(if at all).
