I've had a bento box, but it was from a special restaurant, I've never had one made especially for me though sweatdrop

it was a lunch special at a sushi restaurant, uhm, it came in a nice little box, and I can't really remember what was in it because I never had sushi before then, though I think it was filled with shumi and the tempura shrimp and I think there was fried asparagus too, there was also a bunch of stuff I can't remember

Orange juice + rum is surprisingly awesome for colds, as I figured out with winter. Sooths and intoxicates slowly.

HURRAY! My package has arrive! I have my first bento! Only! It's kinda small, apparently the measurement I pictured in my head, was a little bigger then it really should've been. But ..lesson learned, otherwise this is a great score!

I'm white (cajun) from Roanoke, Louisiana..
The whole set plus shipping set me back about $37

This is the entirety of what I ordered. And now for the run down of each item!

These are the carrying cases.... Light Green (almost minty) Checked, the Big Bento bag, is not insulated, but the longer bottle bag, is. Hand wash only, no ironing, no bleach, hang dry.

This is a little Pengi sauce cup (I got me and my two best-friends each one!) His little beak is actually the end of the spoon, and he's got a little blue fish a top his head!

Matching plastic chopsticks and case!

This is the box and band, like I said the Bento turned out smaller then I had planned. It's perfect for a snack Bento, or a very well planned and packed light meal. It's two tiered, upper is 300ml capacity while lower is 210ml. Microwaveable without lids, not dishwasher safe (don't have a dishwasher anyways.) When microwaving the containers, only do so on "Warm" not "cooking" or "high".

Egg Mold, yay! Key to these is peeling the egg as hot as you can stand it, and putting them in, then latching shut an either dropping it in cold water (in the fridge) for 10mins, or just leaving the molds latched in the fridge themselves for 10 mins. Not dishwasher safe, if I remember correctly.

Last two items, silicone reusable "grass" dividers, and a 10 pack animal pick set!

OK folks! I've officially used my first Bento Box! Time for Pictures and whatnot! Enjoy! (Bento #1)

WHASSAT?! (Foreground tier) 2 Faux Crab salad sandwhiches, one is a clover, and the other a Cauldron. With animal pics a chicken and a tiger (unseen) (recipe at bottom)
1 Sunsweet ones, indivdually wrapped prune.
Lil bowl of Goji berries covered in dark chocolate.
And red leafy greens for accents. (ran out of small filler veggies, and shopping isn't until the 11th)

(Background tier) Spring Leafy greens salad, with brocoli slaw, a mini penguin filled with homemade sweet hot asian vinagarette. (recipe at bottom)
And 2 Peanutbutter patty Girl Scout Cookies


And as promised recipes!

Dressing Recipe was passed on to me from my best friend Ru, and I think it was passed onto her from her best friend Aysha:
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp hot sauce
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 tsp pepper
2 Tablespoons sugar

mix all ingredients together in a container with a tight-fitting lid. shake well and enjoy on favorite salad!

Faux Crab meat Salad: (can be eaten by itself or on various breads.)
This particular recipe yields a fairly large amount, feel free to tamper with it, and adjust to your needs.

2 pkg. Artificial Flake Crabmeat, chopped.
6 Boiled Eggs, Chopped
Half White Onion, Chopped somewhat fine
1 or 1/2 Large dill pickle, chopped course (or sweet, your choice)
1/2 cup or less of, Green onion tops
Seasonings of your favor.
Mayonaise (to your desired level)
Mustard (your choice and level)

I mix them all together, really mix them good. I seasoned it with Slap yo Mama (Cajun seasoning like Tony Chachere's) but any seasoning you like will work. A very small amount of Sea Salt, an Paprika, and mix that all together.
Enjoy on your favorite bread, or stand alone, or however you think would be best. Enjoy!

Sorry for my lack of posts.

I wen this past weekend to Baton Rouge to visit some friends, and caught the stomach flu on sunday, ended up in the hospital and stranded in BR till this past tuesday.
I'm home now, but still sick.
