I'm officially mad at myself for not being able to figure this out, but I can't figure out how to add other characters and such. I found the "Select.def" file, but I'm not sure what to do with it- and my comp won't open it as it is. Do I need to download something else to go along with it?

You should be opening it with Notepad.....right click it and select Open With then search for Notepad.....if that doesn't work I'm stumped as to why u can't open that file

I just recently got my Mugen up and running again. Broken Mugen is a pretty sweet screenpack too. But can someone fill me in with a site that has all of Capcom vs SNK 2's stages cause I am looking for the rainy dojo roof stage and I can't seem to be able to find it anywhere...

OPEN THE "Select.def" WHIT NOTEPAD AND LOOK FOR "Insert your characters below"
AFTER YOU FIND THAT PUT THE NAME OF YOUR CHARACTERS FOLDER UNDER IT
BUT MAKE SURE THE FOLDER NAME IS THE SAME AS CHARACTERS .DEF
THE SAME GOS FOR YOUR STAGES
IN THE "Select.def" LOOK FOR "[ExtraStages]". xp

What is Mugen?: M.U.G.E.N is a 2D fighting game engine designed by Elecbyte starting in 1999. Elecbyte distributed beta versions that ran under DOS, Linux, and Windows. The engine allows for anyone to create characters, stages, and other game objects through interpreted text files and graphics and sound compilations, and it also supports MP3 background music during gameplay. The engine is very powerful and flexible, allowing for the same type of functionality found in most any commercial 2D fighting game, such as the Street Fighter games produced by Capcom or the King of Fighters games produced by SNK.

I thought I would make a thread to see how many people here on Gaia have mugen and like to share information about it and characters that they have. So lets get this thing started then.

I have winmugen, the version of mugen that runs on windows, and I have about 20 characters right now. My favorite character on it has to be Elle, a custom made character that I have to say is pretty kick a**.
