What exactly is wrong with sex at a young age?

Safe sex? You do all realize that is one of the biggest oxymorons I've ever heard of? Gods, it's even worse than 'jumbo shrimp'!

And what is this stupid argument that adults are sleeping around freely and teenagers just want to 'take things to the next level'? That's basically saying 'Everybody's doing it' when you offer a friend a cigarette. Just because everyone's doing it doesn't make it any more right.

Besides, how the heck do you think they started their free sex habits? They slept around with the wrong people when they where young, that's how.

Do you even really know what sex's main purpose is? It is a way to show affection for someone you love. If you can't simply wait a year or so to have sex, then lust is all you're feeling. If love is your main drive, then sex can wait.

And don't even get me started on all this talk that you could simply have an abortion if something goes wrong. "Unwanted children"? Are you even listening to what you're saying? So, children that have yet to exit the womb are expendable burdens, while killing one that's up and about is a cruel atrocity? Bloody hypocrite, that's all I have to say about you!

Abortion is nothing more than murder. Worse, it's murdering something that can't defend itself. It isn't pro choice; it's pro avoiding consequences!

I expect someone here will argue and say that I can't prove that, that I can't prove that the child has attained a consciousness, a soul before being technically born.

And you're right; I can't prove that. But no one here can prove that they haven't. And are you really prepared to take that chance? If you are, then you are possibly one of the most selfish, wretched creatures on the planet, and you will earn no pity from me when tragedy finally falls upon you.

I think it's moreso the consequences. Even though you may be menstruating at 10 or 11 or so, you still probably aren't strong enough to carry a child. I think that's the reason why.

It's against the law. To be honest, most of the time, if you have sex at that age, you're considered a slut or a whore, and will probably be made fun of for that....

I had sex for the first time when I was 15... nothing bad happened or anything it just wasn't any good.
I'm 20 now, with a new boyfriend and redescovering sexuality... mainly because he is more experienced... but I don't think it's bad to do it "early" as long as you are concious about what you are doing and be safe.

How does being married make you immune to STDs and unwanted pregnancies? A marriage license doesn't automatically make your spouse clean, or mean that you are immediately prepared to have a baby.

Honestly I don't like the idea of anyone under 15 having sex, but it's just a personal feel on that.

I lost my virginity last week, and I can assure you I wasn't some brainless zombie who didn't know what she was doing, I knew exactly what I was doing,as did my bf.

We've been together well over a year, and I don't regret it, nor does he.

It is an emotional experience, but all we had was good emotions, a sense of closeness.

Whether you are 15, or 25, the risk of pregnancy,std's, Aids, whatever doesn't suddenly lessen.

Marriage is adults way of trying to keep kids,teens, whatever from having sex at an early age,with good reason mostly yes, but they fail to imform you that the risks dont suddenly leave once you've got the ring.

Regardless if I have a ring on my finger, theres always those risks.

Marriage, just like dating/commited relationships, CAN and DO fail, they are NOT 100% It's not like you can't get out of marriage, so to say wait untill your married is just so stupid.

I'm in love with my boyfriend =] I plan to marry him, I also plan to bang him, and no threats you throw at me, marriage, std's, babies, will stop that.

I encourage and practice safe sex just as adults do, I am of legal age to have sexual intercourse,and it's something I want to do.

I'm against sex at such a young age, because it's unnatural for children to have such urges. If it's ages 16 and above, I'm wouldn't be surprised, but for anything younger than that, it's unnatural. Honestly, I don't believe that you should have sex until you are emotionally, mentally, and financially prepared to do so, and ages 16 and older are NOT the right time.

Regardless of being ready or not, kids shouldn't have to deal with STD, pregnancy and other problems caused by sex.

Also, having sex at a young age can be dangerous to your body, because even if you are mentally prepared, you may not be prepared physically. At age 14 you probably are, but there are exceptions.

And then, it's against the law. There I said it. It's against the friggin' law, what other reason do you need!?

Even if there were no other problems caused by sex at an early age, being against the law is more than enough reason for people to be shocked when it happens.

Besides, sex is basicly a "tool" for having children, and a way of showing someone you love her/him. Having sex with random people is considered ethically incorrect. So that's why people always mention the "no sex before marriage thing". Because marriage assures that you really do feel intimacy to the person you are going to have sex with (otherwise you wouldn't have married), and that it's not just some random act.

So now I ask you, why can't kids under 16 work? Why is it considered exploitation? Some 15 year old guys know exactly what they are doing, it's "consensual". They want to work because they want money. And people are shocked when they find "minors" (12, 13, 14 year olds) working. And it's against the law. But almost no one ever questions this. They only ask about why sex is forbidden, not why work is forbidden. Why? Because sex "feels good" and because "it's awesome" and because "it's great to do it with some random person you are probably going to stop seeing once you finish school and get your own house".

So that is why people are shocked.

It's not unnatural for kids at a younger age to have urges. You're telling me that at 13, you never had any sexual desires at all?? I doubt that.

I lost my virginity at 13. It has yet to damage my life. You take risks living life on a daily basis. I don't see sex as any more of a risk than crossing the street and if you didn't raise your child to comprehend the risks and make their own decisions, then that's on you as a parent.

personally i dont think that any thirteen through fifteen year old girl or boy should have sex ( well it is immoral and your virginity should be sacred to you it can never be given back but there are more oppressing matters than the morrality of the situation ) there is always the chance that you (the girls i mean) could get pregnant not to mention the stds your partner can have. some of which still are not treatable. and dont try to argue that your being "safe" there have been more cases than you may know where the condom broke or they got pregnant while on birth control. these kinds of safe sex dont always work. and you girls who think it'll make you "cool" or "in with the popular crowd" nine times out of ten it wont. you will be labeled as a whore and trust me guys like to brag about these kinds of things it'll get around how easy you are. and being pregnant while still in school is NOT attractive i've seen it first hand at my school where girls you never expected would come with swolen bellies. if you want to have sex ask yourself if its worth it. we have enough wrong with the world today dont be another statistic we have to deal with.

and to all you guys who are telling these girls "have sex its not wrong" i promise you it wont help you get laid. if you havent already i guaruntee its not because girls think its immorally wrong.
