Is there a difference between Techno and Rave?

Is there a difference between Techno music and Rave music? I say there is a huge difference!
Now.... DEBATE!!!!! ^_^

The difference is only known to those on some kind of mind altering drug.

I would say its all annoying, overly syncopated, and very few writers of said spew could be classified as musicians. And writing a remix of an actual song does not count.

OMG yes, rave music is more akin to houce and acid house music, if you look at the early 90's dance music, like N-Trance and Gala, they have electronic beats but also very big voices. Techno music is charachterised by (in my experience) a thumping baseline, and electronic music, it usually doesn't have singing over the top of it, it is usually faster as well, the two genres are related Obv. they all go under Electronic/a
they are no the same, but are very similar.

And Electonica is very good music if you don't like it there is some thing wrong with your brain.

It's better than rednecks singing songs that sound exactly the same, or rappers being the musical form of internet tough guys. At least with some forms of techno you can listen to it for what it is: MUSIC. You don't like it? turn the station.

Techno is a form of music played at Raves.

Of course, "Techno" doesn't directly target one genre. It encompasses other genres such as trance, hardcore, jungle, house, IDM, electronica, chillout, and many more.

So there's a huge difference between techno and rave. One's music, the other's a party.

But then again, you're in the wrong goddamn forum anyway.

That rule also states that the ED, "is not a place to dump opinions and leave, to not support those opinions, or to make short, contentless posts", which the OP did, thus rendering this thread non-ED material.
