Hello Gaians! Thank for tuning to Gaia 9 Action News. I'm Cindy Donovinh and we've got a massive update today! Let's dive right in:

A certain someone was notoriously hard to track down for an interview, which means our entire segment was delayed! As such, you missed out on hearing about last week's amazing Avatar Arena Winners! Taking first place in the Cosplay Avatar Arena was Livibrynn for a classic entry entitled "Birth of Venus!" Gorgeous! Blazing an equally bright trail, Original Avatar Arena winner Ghost Siren shook the stage with the amazing "Sumiko of the Harvest Moon!" Be sure to congratulate these fantastic victors.

Moving to the present, please give a warm welcome to the Original Avatar Arena Winner: Silverlight Symphony for the remarkable entry entitled "K&D: Airheaded Conceit!" This week's talented Cosplay Avatar Arena Winner is none other than Deidara-niichan, dominating the spotlight with the masterfully assembled "YGO! - Dark Magician of Chaos!" Congratulations!

To take a look at the winners of yesterday or yesteryear alike, check out the Cosplay Avatar Arena Winners Page and the Original Avatar Arena Winners Page!

Our special guest this week is Mississippi Black Velvet! You may know this personable user as one of the leading minds behind the annual user-run event and thread known as The Heart Break Cafe. The thread is known for its many contests, giveaways, and fun Valentine's Day-themed activities. I sat down with our guest for an in-depth chat:

Hi Mississippi Black Velvet! It's great to have you on the segment. First off, Can you tell me about the origins of the Heart Break Cafe?
Sure thing, Cindy! Well the cafe came about last year actually when we heard there was a possibility that there wouldnt be a Valentines day event. Staff were busy with other projects and Uncle Kenny was leaving soon so he hadnt been informed to put together an event. Cut to me hastily sending a pm to my partner in crime, Yeata Zi, and after a great deal of back and forth the Heart Break Cafe was born! We had all of about a week to whip something together but we managed and I have to say it was rather successful, more so this year since we had time to plan though.

Fantastic! What would you say makes it unique as a community organization?
Hrm thats a tough one, Cindy. Theres so much to me that makes HBc unique. The cafe aspect is certainly different, but you can find other cafes all over Gaia. We have light role plays going on, games, and a faithful user base. Really its the community that makes our event unique as we see all sorts of Gaians from all over Gaia joining in to take part in our event.

How has the turn out been so far? Hopefully it's been a fantastic event!
Weve exceeded our turn out from last year! Weve had some old friends return but new faces this year as well. We hope for an even bigger turn out next year. You heard it here kids, HBC is here to stay.

Any memorable moments you'd like to share with our audience?
Oh my yes so many! The one that really stuck with me so far this year was someone broke our maid Meushi. I still havent found the culprit or got the entire story but rest assured Cindy, I will bring them to justice! Last year though Finni joined us in helping out and went out of her way to make us a freebie, she didnt have to but she did and I will forever remember that.

Amazing! For out final question, I'd love to know what would you say to anyone interested in participating, volunteering, or just lurking in the Heart Break Cafe. Thoughts?
If youre interested in volunteering for HBC next year just keep an eye out for me to make a thread sometime in late December. Were always looking for people to help us with contests, art freebies, as well as maids and butlers to help out in the cafe. Were a friendly bunch at HBC and love nothing more than chatting with users during our event! So really no need to be shy, stop on in and have a seat, get something to eat and find new or old friends. Well be around up until the Valentines day event ends!

A fantastic look at a wonderful user-run event. Thanks, Mississippi Black Velvet! Anyone interested in hanging out to catch the final events of this year's Heart Break Cafe should definitely stop by. Their soup is fantastic, and their prizes are too! Anyone already excited about next year's should add it to their calendar today!

It's a special day, Gaians! Smack dab in the heart of the Valentine's Season, Gaia's Anniversary has arrived at last! Gaia-tan and Gaia-kun are in the spotlight as the duo hosting this year's Valentine's Event and Gaia's mascots! I decided to check in with them to see if, now that we're at the tail end of the Valentine's Event, we had made any progress. Also invited is the esteemed President Diedrich, who recently put into motion a President's Day Scavenger Hunt! Also here are some enthusiastic guests who have invited themselves into the segment. We apologize for the intrusion. Gaia 9 Action News is seeking to hire a security team as soon as possible.

Welcome, Gaia-tan! How are you feeling now that the Gaia Valentine's Event is wrapping up?
Gaia-tan: AWESOME! I've had so much fun, and all of the Gaians really helped me power up to maximum cheeriness, even if I couldn't get that silly Gaia-kun to admit that he likes Valentine's Day.
Gaia-kun: Well I had the lamest Valentine's ever. Everyone was giving me hearts and chocolates, and it was so gross. I'm so over all this lovey dovey junk. Like, okay, maybe it's sort of nice being doted on once a year, but why does everything have to be so pink?!
Liam: Okay little buddy. Daddy Liam's here to teach you a thing or two about courting the ladies. Now, you may not be able to tell by lookin' at me, but I'm, well, sort of a big deal around here. Rule number one: Keep your game tight and your abs tighter.
Kanoko: I'm reblogging that. OMG.

There seem to be a lot of opinions floating around about the overall reception of the event, but I think everyone can agree that there was a lot of spirit out there! Did anyone get any particularly lovely gits?
Radio Jack: Okay lady, I'd just like to say that, for the record, I accept my Valentine gifts in the form of cash, check, credit card, or legal statements of voluntary servitude. That's it. No more of this hand-drawn heart on a piece of paper crud, okay?
Kanoko: R-radio Jack, that's so--
Gaia-kun: Hey, wait, how are you still on Dropplr right now? Isn't this more important? Are you...transcribing this entire interview in real time, as we speak?
Kanoko: Of course! My followers want to read it!
Gaia-kun: This blog thing has gotten ridiculous. Who would even want to reblog this exact interview while it's happening?!
Liam: Heh, did you see what Gaia-kun just said? Reblogging that, bro.
Gaia-tan: Same. Hashtag "omg," hashtag "Gaia," hashtag, "interview."

My-- it seems as though the interview has dissolved into a somewhat chaotic scene! Staying mysteriously cool as expected is our great President Diedrich. Mr. President, any comments on your recent escapades?

President Diedrich: Hello. Hi. Yes. I am President Government Armed Forces Science Eternal. It is a great matter to have found my scavenger hunt prize. It is also a great energy. Did you know that I have been planning this since before any of you were ever born? It's true! Grunnies are known to have much patience and earwax, and as President, I have the most of both. I love every Gaian in this timeline and many others. OK. Bye now. Bye.

Mr. President, the interview isn't over. Where are you going? Please, sir, can you just take a seat over-- okay, well. With a cryptic response and a dramatic exit, it appears our esteemed President has decided to take his leave. And it looks like the popular social media app Dropplr has distracted my other guests almost completely, as they are all consumed with typing every word as I say it aloud, Gaians.
Radio Jack: A....loud...Gaians...
Gaia-kun: No, I think it's one word, like "Aloud."
Kanoko: Can we take a selfie break?

Are we done here, everyone? I have a lot more questions, you know.
Gaia-tan: Gaia-kun, do you like Valentine's Day now?
Gaia-kun:I mean... it's okay. I guess. Thanks. For the Hearts, I mean. If you've got more, I wouldn't turn them down.
Gaia-tan: Thought so.

Well Gaians, due to a distinct lack of interest from my guests, who would rather blog about this interview than actually participate in it, I suppose that concludes today's segment. Thank you all for joining us.
Liam: This wouldn't happen if I were the host. Just sayin'.
END OF INTERVIEW. Thanks!

Gaian Shout Out:

My love for antler items goes back to my childhood in the North Carolina woodlands; White-Tailed bucks would come out of the woods behind my house at night and I'd stay up just to see their antlers.
