Hello and welcome to the ScamBuster's home thread.
Our home base however, is located in the guild [Community over Conflict]

My name is Hailvane, and im here to introduce to you the ScamBusters.
The goal of the ScamBusters is to help fellow gaians determine the difference between a scam and the real-deal. Obviously, getting a pm from someone posing as an admin is a scam. But we're here to help you with giveaways, quest threads, people claiming to have been hacked, and any thing else you may have questions on. We're not geniouses [sp?] but we will help you in anyway we can. smile

Consider me the leader of the ScamBusters. Our second in command would be DOMOxKUN.
We hardly have any members as of yet, but i have managed to recruit a few. If you would like to join, pm me with a specific reason why and we'll consider it. We dont just pick up anyone off of the streets ya know.

A little info about me: i was recently scammed by revenge_hack and her hoard of mules. D:<
[DOMOxKUN was with me on that one, and so were a few of my friends that might join.] I love music and art. I intend to become either a graphic artist, or a photo journalist. If you want more, just skip on by my profile ^___^

GUIDE TO SCAMBUSTING:
- first, you must find a thread. just search "giveaway" or "questing" or something of the like, and pick on the most recent.
- be on the look out for suspicious looking avi's. these might include ones that arent wearing anything, or look cheap.
- check to see if it is the main account's mule who is posting. read everything they have to say in their first posts about the thread.
- simply ask if anything has been given away, if it is a giveaway thread. but dont push the matter. keep an eye on it to see if anyone receives anything.
- if you believe that there is nothing suspicious about the thread [and i trust your judgment] then just leave it be.
- however, if you find something suspicious about the poster or the thread in general, pm the link to one of the "higher ups" [me, DOMOxKUN, or Articus Frost] and we will investigate along with you.
- if the thread is indeed a scam, and you have proof, pm it to ME, and i we will discuss this. once the situation is resolved, the scammer is reported, and i will stick it here.

"The revenge_hack Case"
- faked a giveaway, yet seemingly put a lot of effort into it.
- mule OwnedxD, main account meluvsthekitties and -_-cutie goth girl-_- were involved.
- the main purpose of the "giveaway" was to get donations for her dream avi.

"Leaving Gaia"
-this is so obviously a scam. you dont even have to click on the link. and if you do, dont log back in, just hit the back button and reload, and you'll be fine.

- the link she has here is a good way to get hacked.
- big scam if i do say so myself.
