I have to reverse up my driveway into my garage and had my wheels spinning yesterday. I heard that kitty litter or sand is good for traction. Which is better though? I read that if I get kitty litter, I need silica since it wont melt or clump in snow. Anyone have experience using sand or kitty litter to get unstuck?

Kitty litter has more traction than sand does depending on the kind you have

I used to use cat litter when I used to get stuck sometimes when I lived up north

i'd go buy cat litter tbh
sand is cool but it's not as gravely as cat litter and sand washes away quickly, litter sticks around a lil bit longer

I live in Colorado so we get A LOT of snow. But some years we don't get much but others we get a ton. I think we are getting 8 inches today. I got a new car and have all seasons and my car is RWD. Unfortunately my wheels are 21 inch tires and its hard to find snow tires in my tire size. So I hope kitty litter helps since I need to drive everyday and we are gonna get dumped on for the next 3 days.

Yeah sounds like kitty litter is the winner! I have no problem driving in it but reversing up my driveway is hard for my car. Hopefully it helps!

Get some bags of sand or a cinderblock or two and keep it in your trunk. The extra weight will help driving a RWD in the snow a lil easier

Cat litter has never worked well for me, I've used mulch before with great success exclaim
