I used to sign on everyday after school and i could be in the chat rooms for hours, putting in little codes to change my font color and to make it bold or italicized. Or having a fun role playing with some random people who became my best friends... Now when i log on to see if i have any messages I'm embarrassed to show it to anyone i know. I used to tell everyone i know about it, now i rarely utter its name. And truthfully, skittles used to be loved by just about everyone of my friends, now if someone even suggests getting skittles, that person looks like a fool. Because we all raise our lips in disgust and shake our heads. Gaia has fallen so far and so hard...the owners of gaia are just greedy pigs, sitting on their lazy rumps; waiting for payday. They don't care about us, just how much of a bonus they may get this month."

Greetings, I'm The Angry Hippie. I have been an active member since 2005 and can honestly say this: Gaia is boring. When I first joined this site, I was optimistic about the roleplaying and avatar options available. The spamming was almost nonexistant, avatars looked fairly normal, and people were more focused on chatting than any other pursuit. As I look at recents changes, I'm forced to shake my head in shame. The forums I used to love to browse have become annoying as I try to sift through the clutter of "GIRLS SLEEPOVER! GUYS SNEAK IN" "DONATE TO THE PERSON ABOVE YOU" and other such nonsense. Where page navigation used to be easy and productive, I have to go through a digital obstical course to change my signature or play a game. If I could ask Lanzar or any of the founders one thing, it would be "Why?" Why did you turn Gaia from something that everyone can enjoy to something that you have to spend money to get any satisfaction from? Why do you keep raising the price and lowering the standard? Isn't it bad enough that we have to pay more in the real world, must we give more as well in the virtual world?

On my first account I was on since 04. I adored Gaia over everything. I bought a Zorro mask and was so pleased with myself. I remember scrolling through the old Marketplace, and I saw a CoCo listing. It was nine thousand gold, and I remember thinking, No way am I gonna be able to save so much! I was getting a little more successful though, wandering through towns and RPing and chatting in a spam free CB. I remember the old Gaians being nice, and not stuck up. I was hacked and sent the report before the announcement came that Gaia doesn't help getting items back. And months and months later I get a reply saying, "We are afraid that Gaia is not responsible for your weak password." Something along those lines. And I had battled my way up to having five thousand gold and decent clothes to wear. Now I'm on this account, and I see the way Gaia has changed and I am terribly ashamed. I remember having a Peasant dress when I started Gaia, and then I saw what nowaday's noobs get.
This is ridiculous and it has to stop! Inflation, taxes, crappy rewards and virus riddled scams!
You ought to be ashamed of how you've developed, Gaia! Listen to us! You claim for us to be your number one sponsor? Now, listen to us, and just think about how stupid Cash Shop, Fish, and all those stupid sponsors have ruined Gaia. But the owners of Gaia ruined it too.

I've been a member on and off since 'o5 and it has terribly gone down hill. I got an account when I was 13 and thought this site was freakin amazing. I got on pretty much everyday after school for hours. Changes got made and I didn't mind them too much until they got ridiculous. Eventually I slowly stopped getting on thinking it wasn't that great anymore. I went through a long stretch when I didn't get on. Well, now I've been comnsitantely on the past year and a half and I cannot stand the changes. I love the way it was. Maybe the little 13 year old simple mind love the simple layout, but still. I had some great times on here back in the day.. and now.. Everyday I sign on and there is some new annoucement about something that would cost me money or a crap load of gold. All these changes and designs make the page longer to load. My internet is not slow by any means but when I'm trying to get around the forums or marketplace, it takes a while for my page to load. It never used to be like that. I'm sick of these ads or overpriced crap.

I want the old gaia back.

I sign, for definite. I've been on Gaia since.. Sept '07 I think.. and I was really into Gaia. It looked so interesting and fun, the people were welcoming and friendly, and when you started there was a small quest thing you had to do with Moira I do believe which was to go around the site and buy clothes, etc. Now, when you join, you wander around the site yourself. I also agree that Gaia has become money hungry and a scam filled site. The old layout was much better and less confusing, aswell as less cluttered. Please Gaia, go back to the old you.

I'm seriously tired of the fact that gaia keeps making changes. I can't even find some of the old things they used to have. For example, they almost hid the Clans button, and I had to go back REALLLY far in the announcement archives to find the evolving item museum. =_=; Why don't they take a break on updating the site, and work on the evolving items, comics, manga, and other things. They should have suggestion threads for how to make things cooler. I've thought up some really cool collectible ideas (something they kinda need) but I can't submit them to the artists.
Instead of updating their look, I wish Gaia would make a thread for ideas for items. They haven't had any "Create your own item" contests since Christmas. And that took like 2 months to judge and release.
