What all you guys are talking about is staying in groups, if i could i would try to stick to just me and maby one other person, maby three people, becaouse in a group, there are bound to be larger attacks from the zombies, and with more people, you will need to reliey on several other people to do work and s**t that you cant do, that will lead to mistakes, like in 28days later, all the milita got killed. What i would do, is try to hold out in the famed Holy Hill, in Wisconsin, its not evean half a mile from my house, i got plenty of guns, example, a Savage, i wont need much more because the church is much remote, and is easily defendibal from the towers, and if all else fails the church has high walls, board all the doors up with the pews, solid oak might i add, and hold out in the monks quarters. Food will be easy, the monks have a bunker with most likely lots of food, and when i run out of ammo, Ill use my cast iron 3 Iron golf club, the head is waighted so it can be used as a club, and the angle of the club, when swung properly, can have a nasty edge.

Well having all that said how many people think i will survive

There may be the ups to traveling in 3s but in a group you may have a better chance of surviving. You have more people to fall on emotionally, if you have jobs to do you can delegate down to people. If the dead do detect your movement, you have more people to help destroy them. If you saw Resident Evil 3, you could see the ups and downs of a group. I really admire Resident Evil 3 for the accuracy of A Total Zombie takeover.
But in a group of 3 or so trusted indeviduals, you wont have any bickering, in a group of about 10 to 15 i could easily see plenty of people bickering and generaly not getting along. I must agree that you could easily have more firepower if you have more people tho.

Yes, arguments will be a problem, but I see them as more united under one cause; Survival. They may argue about decisions and such, but that is fairly normal. I know that I would get my closest friends first, but I would never travel with more than; My family, And my two best friend's families. BTW, I think that you wouldn't survive with your current plan, but you do have a high likelihood of survival, based upon your position and weaponry. The Church is a place where everyone will go and will be loudlypraying. This will attract zombies and when you run out of food, or they manage to get in, you are almost surely trapped.

This has more than likely already been discussed but whouldn't it be a good Idea to just move to a rural island? There's Less people there to be infected and I get the feeling zombies can't swim...

Zombies may not be able to swim, true, but the don't need to breath either.

But it's not like they'd walk on the ocean floor just to get at my brains. The current's stronger than their shabby legs can carry them.

Well that depends on how long they have been undead and how strong the current is, and the distance they have to travel under water. And yes, no they wouldn't walk on the ocean floor to get your brains, they would randomly walk out into the ocean and randomly walk up the beach on you island, and then see you, and then he would come for you brains.

Ninja Ryunnosuke, thank you for being expendable. Your death will likely save one of us.

Zombies do need to breath and eat for sustenance. You find me one living creature that doesn't. Oxygen is required to fuel muscles so lungs and breathing is required. As means of getting the oxygen to the muscles, there must be a circulatory system which means they require a heart. Other than the stomach, all other organs are unnecessary.

Find me one living creature that doesn't need to breathe or eat.
And I know zombies are dead. They are the LIVING dead.
As for the vehicle idea, this is where double barrel shotgun redeem themselves. If you don't have access to a submachine gun then a sawn off shotgun would be an excellent driver weapon. Compact and powerful, easy to load one hand (And shoot if you leave the buttstock on).
Plus you don't have to worry about ammo weight since the vehicle stores it all.

I've seen 250 round double drum mags for the AR-15.

The Beta C-mag? It only holds 100 rounds and its reliability in a SAW is questionable.
It would be fine in an AR15 though. User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

That looks right, but I swear I've seen bigger. Maybe it was a custom job. I wonder though why you say it would be questionable in a SAW.

That talk about a church made me think... what if some Europeans got animals and whatnot together and made a self-sufficient farm inside of an intact castle? That was made to hold up against intelligent and conniving humans. I'd think zombies would find it impenetrable.

Sounds like a stretch though

Depends on the castle. Most of them are falling apart nowadays and banned from public entrance in case of collapse. Only the well known castles are kept in good condition.

Yeah, but if you could get into one of the good ones, or find ways to barricade off the broken bits of the ones in better (not perfect) condition... You could probably hold off for a hell of a long time, assuming there's a well inside. And by barricade I mean find doorways to seal off, not build new walls razz

But then you could be creating alot of dead ends. Not good in zombie territory. I'd sooner stay out of castles and build my own fort.
It wouldn't be much at first. Just some tents and mobile fences until you can put up some decent ones. Then you are free to work on comfort like an indoors place to sleep.

Also, rate my shotgun Idea from this page.

I like your idea. I think it would be better to have about 2 companians (spelling?) in the car with you. then you could focus on driving and running over zombies while they pick off all of the zombies on the vehicle and outside.
It would be pretty hard to shoot while driving though, and you would have to know exactly where your ammo is so you can get to it and load it while driving.

It would be better to have companions but sometimes thats not possible. You wouldn't be pulling out the shotgun for every zombie you see, just the ones who get too close. Plus the beauty of the sawn off is the freedom from aiming. You don't have to worry about getting that headshot, just aim in the general direction and let the spread do all the hard work. Ammo would be easy if you have a crate, box or bandolier.

I see. How close do you mean?

Inside of 10m. Thats about 10 yards for you yankees.
Its primarily a defense weapon to keep zombies from getting too close, especially if you've got your vehicle blocked in or stuck.
