I'll sign but I'm not totally with this. I started back in 2003, when the assaults on Noobs and such weren't that bad, they didn't really get kicked out of threads. Now it's "You're a Noob, I'm reporting you unless you get out of my thread now!" there was more sympathy for them back then.
It's because we've all had about enough of sex driven 7th graders(6 years of it) and their little friends getting on and posting complete s**t just for gold, but that was the chatterbox is for right? Posting complete nonsense for gold. I'm not really into the "sympathy" part for Noobs(frankly they disturb/anger me on another level), but it's partly our fault. Because of being kicked out of threads, reported, flamed and so on the noobs now don't have the chance we did.
They now band together in attempts to make gold by getting their buddies on random threads and posting everything, even if it annoys us to no end to see "wud an1 wana b frinds?" or something as we're scrolling to find something to post on. So then come the flamers and reporters.
There was even a pettion long time ago trying to have Noobs banned when they were reported. Sorry, that may seem like a good idea to some but what if someone was really tightassed about grammer in their thread? You'd probably get reported for saying "lol" in an OOC bubble. Then what? You'd get banned for no reason, and hey maybe it was the first time you'd ever used 'lol' it's probably scar you for life.
I must admit, when I started RPing my grammer and spelling were really bad, not the worst of the worst but I was kicked out of my share of RPs just because I couldn't spell. I was called a noob for almost my first year here, I came out of it though.
Just think, the stuff we got back then was better than the stuff now. Now the noobs get alot of items but they can't sell it for anything. Sure the stuff's fancier... but at what cost? 1g each for how many items do they get? 5 shirts, 5 pairs of pants, 5 pairs of shoes and 9 house items(which they can't even use). If they sell the stuff it's only gonna give them a 24g raise, yeah that's really an unjust ammount(sarcasm) considering most of us didnt' even wear our orgignals, we sold our peasant clothes and got a much higher G-rate comparing with what they get now.
Another thing, what if they DIDN'T get this stuff? There would probably be more of them running around in the basics, complaining about no "good" cheap clothing.
Just think, we were better. Working for our gold, posting, bumping, begging, we got better beginner items, we had a dating service(anyone remember that? Sorry had to add it), we were hard workers. Yes, old gaia was a haven, a cloud nine for us old vets. But it's over now... we can still fight, kicking dead bodies, poking them with our canes/walkers/whatever. Or we can move on and try to preserve what is left of our utopia. If they change it, it's their deal. They'll just get more threads like this.
I wasn't going to wear the clothes... but those gloves are calling to me. Like I said I'd sign but I'm still not 100% for this. I've given you my 2 cents and now I'll shut up.
