I'm going to the MGM Expo next weekend, and while not there explicitly for Gaia s**t, I don't mind going to their stall to interrogate the staff. I've got a set of my own questions to ask: i.e. when are you going to fix everything blah blah blah, lake fishies in aquarium yay or nay, etc, etc. I was wondering if there's anything else I can pass over to the staff, i.e. an open letter, set of questions, (basically, anything short of a demand to GTFO and leave Lanzer to it). If everyone could get themselves organised in the week, unlikely as it seems, I'd be willing to break off from my zombie horde next weekend for an interrogation, and come back with some answers.

Hey all..

I went into the Site Feedback Forum looking for a thread like this. This is awesome, and exactly what I was concerned about.
I've never been able to donate, for different reasons, and that hasn't changed. I now fall under the "starving college student" catagory. But it used to be that through some time and a lot of work, you could gain gold and become somewhat successful. It used to be that unless you bought MCs, the only way to get gold was through being active and working hard... but now, all you have to do is send in some money, and boom, you have gold.
Announcements used to promise that this site would not favor those who were able to donate, etc. etc. That obviously hasn't worked out that way, and I'm disappointed. I used to be on here for hours every day, and now I come on for 15 minutes every couple weeks. What I have I earned a few years ago. (I joined in '05.)

Even though I'm not on often, I hope you keep this thread up. Good job, I like what you're trying to do. Don't give up.

I still think that mods, devs, admins, etc. need their own forum to post in to use as a blog/journal. It'd be a great gateway to communication, open or closed. Because being left in the dark isn't going to solve anyone's problems.

I saw the suggestion for maybe a radio version of ask the admins. There would need to be a rule with that. That all submissions must pertain to site needs and not what countries lanzer wants to go see or his favorite movies. If they do something like that it needs to focus on issues that many on the site would deem much more crucial.

I don't know what that means I just like saying it.

Anywho..I agree. Your changes are interesting and it would be nice, but also easy way to make a compromise between gaia and its users.

uagh, im really annoyed of the zOMG! thingy. its been ages and why buy the boxes and tickets when its never really gonna happen? ive been a gaian for about 80 days now, and its changed from when i first started. i had always looked over the shoulder of friends looking at them enjoying gaia, so i created an account. it is now really different from the gaia that i saw over my pals shoulder. i will say that it is ignoring its users and breaks promises, please hear us crying

I think it's good that we do have regulars in this thread, it keeps it alive and other people can see it.

Sorry if that pisses them off enough to want to move it.

So we got a tid bit off topic, but daggom, it got more people in.

And I seriously don't think it would have stayed off topic, NK put too much work into typing everything out, the petition, and the links to the devs and whatnot.

Geeze, someone has something stuck up their a$$. Did they even realize that we do have some devs, admins, mods, etc. in here? So what if they went off topic with us. They need to blow off some steam. And it's not like it was all for nothing, hell, it calmed some of us down, including me, just knowing that they are human. We actually connected there for a few minutes. But when the damn topic was moved it was kind of like telling us, don't get too close, and devs, don't make friends with the regulars.

This was a really open forum. We were getting the complaints of the user community out there. And then about 20 chat-related posts, and the mods move it to the chatterbox? It became a joke there, really fast. This is ridiculous.
