It is very sad indeed to think back to how everything used to be. I remember I was so panicked when without warning (to my knowledge) the dresser rearranged my items after I used the. I dislike how it moves my items around in the dresser. I thought I'd been hacked xD

I absolutly agree with this statement.
Frist with the cash shop items. In my country there isn't any cash card or wtf and we cannot pay with our credit card till it's just a Junior credit card. Cuz they don't accept it just beacuse it isn't embossed.
second: I hate the sponsor items... Especially MTV-items. Thes are just mess on Gaia and we cannot get rid off them.
Third: When I heard about that that Gaia will have an MMO and after that I heard about ZoMG! I was really glad but now... I feel I'm stiffed. It's unfair that some of the Gaians can use it and MOST of us cannot. I wanna enjoy playing on Gaia but in thiy way it's impossible.

Huge inventories are a mess. I too had everything organised on color. I now have 2 pages of clothing and it's annoying as hell. Inventory Organizer thingy has been glitchy for AGES now, it's unbelievable. gonk

Put the old user bar above the posts back! This is just one more step away from all the great things that Gaia used to be. Yes, they were confusing - for all of the first five minutes. The best part of joining something new, be it a game or a website, is learning how it works. You feel accomplished after figuring things out.

This is so true. I agree with a lot of what your saying. I joined in 2006 and was there when battle was first announced. Things used to be great but i've noticed the whole site is degrading around us. The quality of what was once amazing has fallen pretty low. The EI's have essentially trashed the MC "stock market" and created a staid and stagnant marketplace which is taxed! I cannot believe they honestly introduced that! That kinda screwed things for me. The day when you take one of the truly free markets on the internet and screw with it is bad. Before fads had given the market a real atmosphere. Something you could be proud of being part of and could make a living in game off (I personally made like 4 or 5 million in my first year and have been living off the profits ever since). For those of us who had nothing else to offer the market gave you a chance. But now. Now its just a rapidly falling gold sink. Take a look at the old MCs like the Chyaku and behold the nice big drop off in price recently. Thats not just some fad thats the market crashing! MCs were the lifeblood of the economy the only items with enough presence to really demand high prices continually (Giftbox items of course suffered from the gradual increase problems in a market). I love this site as much as the threads owner does but ffs changing the EIs so they integrate with the old market system should be acheiveable. Maybe make some MCs that are EIs? I dunno but some way to get the market so many enjoyed and supported back on track would be smart.

One last note:
You may think you need the MTV generation but they are more likely to bring values and desires you will not cater to. Ask yourself do you really want General Discussion to represent the majority of Gaians? Honestly the answer should be no. If stupidity is what you want then don't start off with a decent website. Go make another one or something. Gaia was a beacon to people and you can't betray them now when they've given so much time and effort into the site.

I am a zETA and I understand your frustration that some people got on before others. I notice there is a large proportion of the GDer variety players and not enough players who are smart enough to play well. Griefers shouldn't exist in a beta right?

Yeah but the prices are all so low no way to gain any rise for items that will always be high! Theres no gainage within the market. Any real life economist (I have asked a friend just now on msn about this and he says that if everything in real life was low price there'd be no inflation and your economy would essentialy crash) will tell you its not a good thing! If previous staples of a market suddenly become worthless you have a lot of angry disillusioned investors who are trying to get along suddenly being left in the cold. Sure its better for newbs but why the hell should they get everything on a silver platter!

HS economics was a long time ago for me ... but far as I can figure what we're seeing is an influx of desirable items. Before all we had was one kind of bread. Now we have seven or so and the values of each make up part of the whole.

Also, quite honestly, I think people playing the exchange to get rich was a part of the problem. The only people who got rich were the investors. And they did it because everyone else had to pay these heavily inflated prices to enter into the market and get something.

That things went down in price after what I see as an unnaturally high price seems to me to be a positive sign.

Also, Gaia doesn't function the same way as a real life economy. It's not accurate to compare it to them. There are no 'jobs'. No companies built on loans or trust funds that are going to go bankrupt. We can't go into a depression or any of that because we've continued to gain gold and that's not likely to stop.
