Looking for Advice for my first fanfic!

Okay, like, um...I'm kinda hesistant to really post it up on FF.net until I feel like, I know what I wanna do with it but basically um, I wanna do this prequel fanfic to the Dragonball (before it became Z) show. One that revolves around what happened to Chi-Chi's mom. Her mom is like the main character and I want to build up her character a bit to make sure my fanfic is really really good. So like, one of my friends IRL told me to get on gaia and rp in DBZ threads, but a lot of them that I think my character could fit into are kinda hardcore with how active they are and I am kinda intimidated, even though I am a literat rper. I'm working on a profile for the charrie too so that helps. I just don't want people to think I'm a troll or be mean cuz I'm a bit noobish to the fanfiction and rp scene. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do, could do? Or maybe know any rps I would be wellcome to join? Feedback is appreciated thanks.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do, or could do? Or maybe know any RPGs I would be welcome to join?

Write your posts more like that, and less like what you posted. That will help you be more accepted in the long run.

Also, I've never used RP as a tool to help build my fanfiction. So I really don't know how well it works.

Write your posts more like that, and less like what you posted. That will help you be more accepted in the long run.

Also, I've never used RP as a tool to help build my fanfiction. So I really don't know how well it works.

I dunno.
I read a lot of fanfiction first, then I started writing.
The first thing you write isn't going to be any good, but that's okay, the point is just to have written it.
The point is to write it to your standards.

I dunno.
I read a lot of fanfiction first, then I started writing.
The first thing you write isn't going to be any good, but that's okay, the point is just to have written it.

That stuff about writing to your standards and enjoying your writing is like pretty deep. It's so hard to read fanfiction much these days because like all the writers are so mainstream for the fandom I wanna do. It's like, gee, how many times can you pair up the sam couple? That or they do a lot of high school AU junk and it's like, ugh, if we wanted to read about a bad school drama, we'd like, I dunno, gossip in RL. Or at least that's what people do here in the valley. Ugh, it's so cliche of them to do that liek, totes retar living up to steiotypes. Oh, and like, I wont write like this for the story either. When I type I type really fast cuz I make quickie posts up on facebook all the time and text my friends alot so my fingers are kinof lightning quick and I make some typeoes. Sometimes I forget how to spell some of the big words too cuz like, I get brain farts (no they don't stink lol its a figure of speech duh but like you probably know all about it.)

Awwww like, nobody's responded to my thread! I was hoping I would get to see some more good feedback before like, I went to bed. Even though I'm like, sooooo awake right now! Note to self, don't by a ventie right after like, 9 PM! lol

Should I like, maybe get over my silly fear and actually come out and say my fanfic idea and Oc idea? Because like, I won't lie, I kindof am afraid of the imput people would have about it, or even that someone might wanna steal my original idea for making this obscure character and stuff!

awesome my advice is be original don't repeat some parts that already happened also you should totally show the saiyans before the planet explosion

Like, unfortunatele Srawberry-san, the story won't have Saiyans, it like, focuses on Chichi's mom exculsvely. But like, thanks for the suggestion!

And thank you too Eve-san! But like, I don't wanna like mess up the story by changing my mind too much about what I like, wanna do because then like, it would make for a totes confusing story maybe. And like, I change my mind about stuff really quick sometimes. Like, OMG we're like close in age! I just turned 14! And GokuxChichi is totes the best OTP (its so mainstream that people like Bulma and Vegeta so much, especially on FF.net!) If you got it up or when you do please link me to your fanfic it sounds like it's made of win! I'm like, getting out of my comfort zone with a drama myself. I'm like a really cheerful and open minded person so like, I wanna revolve my fanfic around like, a person who's the opposite of me, and I wonder if like this one obscure person would be like that! ♥ And I totes know whaty ou mean by wanting to "stop acting young" because like, some people on gaia here are like overly obessed with being mature even though like, this site is made for young people. I'm trying to get into this one rp and it like, seems like they won't give me a break. I understand my charrie might be flawed but like, they keep only picking out one or two things so when I fix that issue they then find something new. But I'm like, not giving up! I understand I'm making Goku and Chi Chi's daughter. But at times people think Mary Sue so I'm like O.K I'll change this and that and blah blah...I'm going the whole 9 yds. Charrie...Sonic right? I have a Sonic FC named Ling, Shen, and Foxie...well thats her nickname working on her real one. But I don't listen to anyone on that because to me they are so funny and cute. Like Ling-Ling is a loli character and Shen is so sorry bada** I guess. And his girl friend Foxie is a tomboy but she loves Shen's little sis Ling Ling and is people tell me Mary Sue that is the only time I won't listen cause they are totes awesome. Yay! We are I just turned 13. And everyone made it great. I got presents, drawings, a surprise party the day before my birthday.

YW. I think when people get more encouragement and complements and actual advice and they will do better. And don't worry if all fails make your own RP. You make the rules and if you want the rules looser then they will be looser and if you want them stricter than you can make them that way. Right now I am just browsing RPs for DBZ until I get like a you know an idea for a name and what the rules should be. =D

Sounds like a totes interesting fanfic! And sorry but I know nothing about sonic because like its too mainstream for my liking. LIke wow, making my own rp? Sounds like a lot of work...work I'd like rather put into the fanfic once I figure out how I wanna like start it! Oh and I totes made i t into the rp I was working myself into! yaatttaaaaa! I've been posting a few times too and it is like, so much fun! I'm really excited to get my charrie into some interactions and not just Chichi.

From the view of a reader: I'm not an expert on writing but this is what I've heard from good writers.

Well practice makes perfect. No one starts out awesome, and some people hate them for it. It happens that people will dislike the things you worked hard on. The important thing is to keep on going and trying to improve.
Just keep writing because if you don't the story will eat at you and eat at you and haunt you in your dreams. So as I been told.

I'd advise you to carefully read over what you write to catch spelling mistakes and so on. Maybe even print it out to read or have someone else look over it. This is very important to read over what you write if you want to have a nice looking story. Well what I'm saying is this is something you must do if you care about making it look nice and not something a newbie would do. It's fine if you make a few errors but it's a bit silly if there is a lot that you missed that could've been solved by looking over it closely a few times.
