Welcome to Gaia! ::

I, Emmizine, sign. Wow, that sounded very official blaugh
hi just a quick message from .NK. guild in case the general was wondering

Quote:

I haven't quit altogether, I just don't come by much at all. And that last RIG really was just the final nail in the coffin for me. I hate to say it, but it hurts to see the way Gaia is progressing lately. They remind me of video game companies (I watched E3 today, blame that), doing all that they can for money even though they screw over loyal fans. It never matters to them.

And the avi is naked because I was trying to preview the new items and couldn't fully dressed, and I haven't bothered to dress her back up again.

So, yeah. I haven't quit fully, but I mostly have. I don't talk to anyone from Gaia anymore, we pretty much all fell out and/or went our separate ways, and that's fine.

It's just too much drama, too much stress, too much work to try to care about this place anymore, especially when I have to act like a ******** ninja/government official; stealthy and very careful of what I say before I end up getting banhammered or breaking the rules they made just to prevent threads like mine.

A lot of it has to do with being virtually unable to post in SF now. Any thread I make goes up in flames. If it's nice, I get mocked, "NK is being nice?! OMG!!!" and if it's my typical blunt honesty, there's a flame fest, or at least one is attempted, and then I just let the thread die because I can't go in depth on anything or it'll go against the rules and be deleted. And I can't post in other threads much either because a flame fest starts there as well and I get warned for being disruptive.

I still wish things would change...I'm just at a total loss as to what to do. Gaia wants money. That's what it all boils down to. They seem like they don't want to fix things or give users what they really want because it distracts them from their projects that are garnered towards making money.

Hell, at this point, even a lot of the staff agrees and is unhappy with Gaia too.
But...that's just how it is.

but i'm glad to see so meny people care about how gaia works and i hope that .NK. will be remembered as someone that tried to Help gaia and its users if you do chose to leave we will miss you if not we will support you and your words of wisdom

While I can agree that the sponsor ads was a poor choice, it does not equate to greed, has anyone looked at the numbers recently? On average 70-90k people are signed into Gaia every hour, with peaks pushing the number over the million mark. The vast majority of these users do not support Gaia with cash purchases, actually only 35-40% of Gaia users purchase items (in cash) every month. Yet all of the users are able to receive the same free services without judgment, Gaia is attempting to find creative ways to increase the cash purchasing base, so that as a business they can stay out of the red, Financially the country is s a mess what makes you think that Gaia is exempt from this situation, (and please do not go back to the quote from either Fleep or Lancer talking about virtual purchases staying high in these tremulous times. That was months ago and lots of changes, improvements, and looses and gains ago). The sponsor ads are a flawed system no doubt, but seeing as how less than fifty percent of Gaia users are working diligently to keep this great community afloat, how else would you have solved the financial crunch? Having sponsor flash ads, and free giveaways are not viable income generating sources, it is hit-or-miss. Additionally these types of advertisements force to the fore companies which many users could care less about (like Venus razors). So again I admit the sign up for free Gaia cash ads were misdirected, I understand the idea behind it and applaud Gaia for actually taking an initiative to find revenue in this depleted market.
I, Forbidden Pie, Sign This Petition on behalf of The Listen To Your Users Group. I am signing this petition for many reasons, though I will give a recent example of why I am signing. Recently, as many may know, Gaia has unleashed an event for a chance to win a Angelic Halo, said to be scavenged from a banned account. They now want us to spend 99 gaia cash(99 cents American) for each chance to win this Halo. Many might spend Money(yes, Real money.) and not receive any prize at all. This is obviously another of Gaia's attempts to get us to spend real money for digital money, and to pump Our Money into Their Paychecks. I refuse! I refuse to fall into Gaia's plot to take our money from us! Why Pay Real Money for Fake or Digital Money? If you agree, Please join us in our Group Against Gaia Cash!
