Seriously, we should NOT have to pay cash for EVERY aquarium item, nor so much money for Donation item sets, and other horrible things! Also we should long have had our Battle System over things like Gaia Cinemas and VJ!! evil

I'll sign this; however, I should also mention that while I do support this petition.. I'd fail at the boycott.. as I'm much too drawn in by EI's.. sad i liked getting letters every month. I haven't bought htem regularly for at least a year due to financial issues.

However, I did post the banner to here in my friend's chat thread. I'm gonna move it to the front page with a little area to describe this and promote it some more. I know at least 4 other people from my thread have already been by to sign it.

I joined gaia in march 04. and.. what i really really dislike.. is how all the little teeny boppers from myspace will openly say in events that why are us older poeple on gaia.. that it was made just for htem. stare orly? because male dancer outfits and smoking are definitely things we wanna promote for 14 yr olds.. right? rolleyes

I am amazed that the outcry has substantially grown since the Aquaruim flop. I had gotten flamed by many people in last months ATA on the 18th for protest of the My Gaia layout, but the number of people attacking me have gone down a bit-maybe because I'm keeping to guilds right now more than anything.

But this needs to stop. History shamefully repeats itself. Gaia's economy is suffering. Think of this place like the mother country, if you will. We love it, are proud to be called it's citizens. However...

They have been taxing us (literal on that one, with the 2% tax, unless that has been removed. But with the inflation as it is, I highly doubt that). They have been ignoring our protests (petitions, feedback threads) have been sending their troops wherever there is an outburst (banning without due and just cause, corrupt mods and "shame mods" who attack users for them/protect them from the users, like trained dogs) and suppressing us. (subliminal messaging on the My Gaia to buy Cash and spendning it, stiffing commerce through the Marketplace with that 2% tax.)

The parallels are striking and horrifying. And it eventually leads to one thing-a revolt. We are still yet in the peaceful" protest era (no RL protests) but if this continues much longer, we're going to have another Boston Tea Party on our hands. *scowls darkly*

I am more than willing to donate my resources to this cause. I have a spare guild laying around, but I still want to keep that in my name and change it to The Sons and Daughters of Gaia, alluding to the Sons and Daughter of Liberty. On top of that, I am in the area nearby their offices (I live in the central Valley in California, and last time I checked, their offices are in San Jose)

If there are anyone who's also in the area, well...

I'd be the first to do so, along with a bunch of poeple who I now in RL from my area who are SICK and TIRED of the mess Gaia has become.

For weeks now I have been increasing disgusted with what's it become. Ever since that money high business puppet Craig Sherman stepped into the picture and called our beloved place a "teen hangout" I felt my whole body being violated. This is not Myspace. This is not Facebook. This isn't some cooperate snare that forces a culture the majority of users try and get away from in RL. (Many people who I know hate the messages that Pop culture sends) and the ADS!!! Do not even get me started on those. Brest surgery? Cosmetics? Desiding on what famous celebrity's face is that to win prizes??

What are we? You business guinea pigs?? We DESPISE subliminal messaging playing with our minds. We DESPISE the outright messages you proclaim. We DESPISE the hypocracy we have to see unfolding through the very pixels we wish to have. I will be nothing more and nothing less than an activist, if need be, for this UMBRAGE all must suffer at the hands of hands stained green.

I still want to believe in the spirit of Gaia. I still want to believe that there are those who hate where this is going in the staff. I know that has to be. But the majority sickly wins every time, and money talks BIG.

*signs* I agree. I understand that the people who develop and work on gaia need to eat too but there is seriously a limit. Making a store where you can only buy items with cash implies that it will not be the last. Gaia seems like it's going away from it's free online usage and to another terrible online game where you are expected to pay for crappily made pixels. It needs to stop.
