i mean with a claim like this " There is absolutely no way to be ethical while participating in modern day capitalism. " it's hard to take any of what follows seriously. like of course there are ways to be ethical.
There isn't and if you'd actually read it might give you some insight into why I've said that
no im familiar with green washing critiques, and i don't buy them so earnestly tho you'd probably catch me arguing the same in a different circumstance -- and this is what i mean there are degrees of action that can be made. i think a pretty easy antithesis is germany in wwii. are you saying no germans could be ethical? i think you would be wrong to say that brave dissenters were not acting ethically in a difficult situation.
when you paint ethicis in a dichotomy you are no longer in ethics but a moralistic philosophical system.
Morals n ethics go hand in hand
If u buy s**t from a store and support capitalism you're supporting someone unethical
Unless the companies completely change and decide to like ya know not pay off politicians so they can both stop doing evil s**t (highly unlikely this will happen unless there is a revolution)
You're still supporting something that's unethical.
Someone doesn't have less moral standing bc they eat meat.
Being vegan bc of ethics / Morals/ whatever you wanna call it does not make u a better person and ppl need to stop acting like it does
